I did a 9a conversion, and used the original clutch off the 1991 box, all components! eveything worked spot on

very underated cars, mainly due to clarckson and hairdresser jibes, Transform the poor standard handling with cookbot/defcon style bush inserts in the front wishbones, suspension refresh, rear arb replace with Golf 4 motion to lose understeer, Good remap and 80mm Tip, good for 270 brake, oil pump pick up pipe needs replacing to cure sludge build up, very quick and great handling cars with these mods, and cheap at the moment

any reason why you dont want a 2.0

Please dont take this the wrong way jim, but every time i have seen your car i always thought it was much nicer than you gave it credit, and you have kept it so well! worth every penny -
Is the price rise not a good thing?? early 16 valve cars in nice original condition have definatly risen in value, which is good as its not all about VR6s, also i have seen some nice G60s sell for good money, these cars a rarer after all, will this not encourage owners to keep them longer with prices rising?

Congrats to both of you, love the shoes

remember to factor in for a cambelt water pump and hydraulic tensioner change on the engine and check for shaft play on the turbo as most of these engines have high mileage now and belts get neglected and do snap
-
Yes i should of said, KR cams

I would go Rebuilt 9a, easy to do, a gas flowed head, and that gives 160 to 170 bhp and makes for a nice torquey engine with plenty of power and keeps the car original, A nicely built better breathing valver engine is a joy to rev and sounds great imo

Should of advertised them on the TT forum, over a grand on there
-
Early set if you have any, please pm me for a payment

Thought I`d give a well deserved heads up to kip and Judith, running the London marathon, I have been tracking them and they are doing really well, fair play to them.

can anyone running twin 45`s on a 20. valver recommend some jet sizes please for optimum performance and smooth running
-
I emailed the dealer asking him if he had got the asking price for the corrado, and he replied yes, and that it was a lovely car. maybe prices are on the up, and it was just a lowly valver too. ha ha, maybe ironically as there are not many valvers left they may now be worth more than VR`s

Lets not forget if you enjoy modding your cars The TT is an excellent choice as its easy and reasonably cheap to mod and turn it into a fast very capable car, a set of cookbots, and R32 arbs will dial out the understeer and sharpen up the steering decent shocks and lowered springs, a blue haldex controller, and a decent set of tyres will make the TT very competent in all weathers, coupled with a decent remap, stage 1, will see 265 270 brake and bags of torque, the interiors are still leading in quality and there are no rattles from mine, most rattles come from the parcel shelf which is an easy fix they are very comfortable for every day driving and for long distance as well, vag com will scan for any faults as well, mine has been faultless and is bags of fun fast and surprisingly economical if driven sensibly by the Mrs
