One thing the corrado has going for it in my view is its build quality compared to any RS cars on the road, anyone who has owned the likes of a cosworth sierra or RS Turbo escort/Fiesta would i would think vouch for that, There is no comparison! The corrado is without a doubt a well put together package and even though early ones are suffering with rust problems now just go and have a look at the so called competition of the time,Old cavalier SRi`s and astra Gte`s, RS escorts and Renault5 turbos, and even fiat uno turbos are worth more money, Because there are hardly any left as they have fallen to bits..

Corrado wont start, Not my day! is there an ignition switch relay?
joby replied to joby's topic in Engine Bay
Thanks sean for the info, fiddled about with the relays and it seems ok at the moment, cant seem to get it to do it, thinking it may be the ignition switch now, funny thing is the passenger side window wont work now! Something to do with me pulling the relays out possibly. Given up now for a bit.. -

Just had another look and pulled the fuse box cover off and the buzzing definately coming from there and after a couple of jiggling about it started, but its doing it on and off so there must be a relay thats on its way out but which one? is there one thats to do with ignition i wonder, cant seem to find any info on relays for an early valver -

The fuel pump is priming though banana man, as soon as you turn the key full turn it just makes a buzz a bit like the oil pressure buzzer, proper wierd, as i said its done it before but after a couple of goes always fired -

Not my day today! Trying to sort out my wheel alignment now this!! Got in the car turned ignition to crank and just a buzzing sound happens from fuse area, so im thinking some sort of relay? Is there one for the ignition? Before i start blaming the switch itself! It did this yesterday but started after a couple of attempts! Battery is good by the way -
Thought so, just done some reading, thanks david, how have you found the best way to adjust the camber without jacking the car, as i know you need it flat, you just cant get to the bolts? ---------- Post added at 2:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 2:05 PM ---------- By the way, thanks for everyones feedback

Done some checks and showing 1.3 degree positive camber on offside and 1.5 positive on nearside, how will that affect how it drives
-
Thanks david, out of interest what do you think of these apps on your phone thats checks levels you can use it to check camber with a true straight edge against the rim, supposed to be very accurate, im thinking about setting my own aliignment as you did, not a lover of paying for things if i can do it myself, half the fun! Ive done most everything else on my cars so why not..

After fitting some different springs and generally pulling everything apart and changing my wheels from 17 to 16, i need to get the new set up aligned and wondered what the best settings would be! I rang a local 4 wheel alignment place and he said if its been lowered you cant use the original settings and said he could only set the toe, i explained that i would give him some settings but he didn`t seem comfortable with that but would do it! its an early valver with 195/45/16 tyres, any ideas please..

offers on these springs now, need them gone
-
Thanks bristol, they are 195/45s

Quick question? have seen some 16" Rims that i fancy and there 16/7j with an offset of 20 which i take it makes them stick out towards the arch more? my corrados has been lowered approx 35mm and its a valver, Any ideas and will it look daft or rub, cheers

Stella there is a circlip that breaks or just flips off on the gear selector housing that can cause problems with selecting gears, just pull the gear stick boot and assembly off to check it out, worth a try!!

Just copied this from the TT forum! Doesn`t sound good Just got home and I just cant believe it !! The bloody Seat's steering wheel came off and he ploughed into the crowd !! 3 people taken away by air ambulance with broken pelvis , legs and shoulder. It really was a truly gruesome site to see people being knocked out of the way by a fast moving car Took it easy on the way home I can tell you. Neil -
Eibach 25-30mm lowering springs for 16 valve or G60 , these were bought from venom motorsport and are £219 now. the springs have done approx 5000 miles as my corrado is garaged and sorn most of the time, they have some surface rust but are sound, these are good quality springs and give a sensible lowering height and are designed to be matched with standard dampers, will get some pics up soon, Looking for £80 plus delivery.. I will be away from the 3rd july till 14th so will not be able to answer any pms.. Thanks
