Totally understand what your saying and agree in a way, but for me corrado prices need to rise or its a waste of time even thinking of them being classics because with so many still on the road they will still only be worth buttons and for long term owners with lots of commitment in there car makes them feel worthless in my opinion
-
plenty have been broken on here by long term enthusiasts with very little complaint
-
Maybe the price of obselete parts and rare parts should go up! May be it will help to raise the price of the corrado from the dire state its in at the moment, There are much lesser cars of this era that are raising in value but the Raddo seems to be bargain bucket still!
-
It amazes me how far some people will go, why not just apologise and take the pic down when he was asked, would probably have solved the issue

lets all share a thought for poor old michael schumacher, lets all hope he makes a speedy recovery..

16s are a good compromise, 17s are a Horrible ride and do not do the handling any favours but do look good with the right ride height, 15s just look puny on a corrado imo but the corrado seems to handle really well on them

You could buy a bam engined S3 for that money taxed and moted, with all respect a bit pricey
-
The trouble with keeping them as weekend/project cars is, it all starts out with good intentions and thoughts about how great it is just to have it as a toy and you chuck loads of money at it and rebuild engines to a higher spec and then sort the brakes and suspension and mint the whole car up then you lose even more interest and enthusiasm in it, Then if you make the mistake of buying a much more modern faster more capable car for everyday use then that really throws a spanner in the works! Some will have you believe there really is nothing more capable on the road for the money still!! Well im afraid there is... A Good VR6 is still fetching in the region of 4.5k upwards, for that money there are a lot more capable fun cars on the road... IMO

Try the TTforum, there are some that have used copys but generally only use the originals as youtube shows how these copys can explode, there are some good second hand ones usually for sale on the forum and usually show any shaft play, just a thought mate..

25th Anniversary National Day - Castle Combe
joby replied to vornwend's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Gutted to miss out on this, ignition switch has bitten the dust this morning, it was fine yesterday after a nice long run, but this morning dead as a do do -
Early TT`s were recalled because they were flipping at very high speed so the story goes, apparently The early cars handled really well with there early lower wishbones and smaller bushes, The recall included new designed wishbones to dial in some understeer and esp and a rear spoiler for some extra downforce at speed, some early cars never made it back to the dealers, maybe because owners couldnt be bothered i dont know, but apparently the original wishbones were held back by audi on the recalled cars and then crushed. sometimes the do come up for sale on ebay but rarely, and are valuable, handling issues can easily be sorted outs with defcon bushes and R32 arb`s as kev says, and then makes for a competent chassis. early TT`s seem to be holding there value and in my opinion are fun when sorted and very quick with the right remap!!!

a pair for me please
-
There big heavy seats to fit in a corrado, you would be better of with TT seats as there a bit slimmer, if ya know what i mean. sorry probably not what you wanted to hear as there a nice seat
-
Ok, its been a while since i did mine, but this is how i would tackle it, Get the car as high as you can on axle stands plenty of clearance needed! Battery disconected, driveshafts of the box, any earth straps or wiring disconected, jack placed under sump with a wooden plate so as not to dent the sump. take off gearbox mount then front engine mount to lower the engine then gearbox bolts off making sure you support the box then it should come off, Make sure you have a clutch aligning tool to replace clutch and i would check seals on gearbox for leaks and crankshaft seal on engine side for leaks as its all easy to replace at this stage and cheap enough from ecp, dont get a cheap clutch, false economy!! Take your time as its a heavy job but easy enough.

The sport is still very sought after and still holding its value, They really are smart but a lot of money for a few extras and a mild factory remap, something that can easily be done to a standard 225
-
Nice looking TT there myles, ive got a nice double exit rear valance that would look nice on yours mate, youd just need the tail pipe for it
-
I have one, a 225 coupe. well the mrs uses it as a daily, had a S3 before this, so decided on a TT just to scratch the itch, They have there faults, and dont buy one without plenty of research and take vag com with you to check for any fault codes, They are quite quick in standard form and suprisingly rapid remapped 260-280bhp, check for cam belt change/ haldex oil change / brake discs/ dashpod failure/ eml light/ drop links/ decent tyres/ uneven tyre wear, A nice looked after one is a truly fantastic coupe and quick when remapped, A few mods to the suspension dials out any understeer and numbness feeling that everyone goes on about, a wak box conversion helps with the lack of character from the engine too and is easy to do and free, if your ever down the north wales are i will take you for a spin, see what you think ---------- Post added at 8:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:10 PM ---------- Easy to work on, so far i have done springs and top mounts, lower ball joints, anti roll bars front and rear, which the collars break on them so need checking out as well, brakes all round disks and pads, cambelt and water pump, plugs, lampda sensor, oil pump pick up pipe. Remap/ which crazy dave did for me, and general sevicing. Sounds a lot but the car is a weekend hobby for me...
