sorry guys, I just realized that this message thing was still open, totally forgot, never got emails on it. anyway, BC if you look I am still fitting my charger into the engine, just for u. and I will email you a dyno sheet personally. so um yeah Im not going to lie to you guys, Im still doing cell stuff, helped a guy in australia get his car running 60 degrees advance with a cell and about a drop of gas. hes cleaning the carb this weekend. um yeah Im not going to get into it because you guys will ridicule me more if I do. we figured more stuff on the antigrav stuff, negatively charged mass does it apparently, still cant verify here, my friend has his bolted to his test engine (we had to order a new flywheel because we sheared the key off the old one). sorry for being so quiet, once again I didnt realize this was still going, pretty popular post I have to say though. =-) SPEAKING OF WHICH! Dubcharged, can you make me an ECU that is stock but allows for a maximum of 90 degrees advance? BBM wont touch the subject. -

wow its been 2.5 months and I just got one piece, amazing.... waiting on custom fuel rail now.... its good for the charger though, as it sits in the engine bay its going through all its normal stresses! nice to see that nothing has broken yet, I did use 2-1/2" aluminum plates to bolt the thing to. charger isnt being run though, I have the clutch on it turned off, only goes on when my boss or my friends wants to hear the thing, not too loud amazingly. bcstudent, Im completing this damn thing for you!!! -
also I was told not to use 1 piece thrust bearings.... anyone know where I can get 3 piece thrust bearings? or 4 piece ones?

yeah we dont have MKIII golf Diesel bearings here... hmm international shipping....

ok so Ive been through 2 CATs and I want a test pipe, wondering if one from a MK3 VR6 will bolt up and be the right length. http://www.42draftdesigns.com/mk3vr6testpipes.htm only reason I am looking at the VR ones is because I need the 2.5" pipe. thanks guys =-). oh and if someone has a 2.5" test pipe I will buy it off you as long as it has no rust, just have to get it shipped to the US. thanks.

when I plug in the ECU and intercooler line coming from the AMG supercharger it will. ;) It had enough guts to get to 140 easily with my G-lader, little too much for the G-lader tho. using a .79 5th gear, possibly a .71 what about this differential preload thing? is it outlined in the bentley? and where is it? Im gonna do a transmission day soon so I need to know I guess, oh and kev since I think you did your transmission, what parts do I need for a reassembly of a transmission, Im buying new synchro gears and oil seals so far.

I see what you are saying about the crank bearings, flywheel attached and all, how do I know if the crank bearings need doing? I have replacing everything in the engine and I still get this wirring sound, intermittent and wierd when it does come around. was gonna do the crank for giggles, perhaps I should do this if I need to replace a transmission....

in place, but how do you get a socket up in that space, there is no room

so I have a passat transmission in my C right now, 3.94:1 final drive. I am putting my supercharger (big one) back into the car as I took it out finished but never ran it. Ive got 2 spare transmissions (1 lost 2nd gear teeth, 1 blew its diff) sitting around both US C transmissions, 3.65:1 gearing, what I want is to be on the freeway at 75mph @ 2600 rpms, so I want the 3.3:1 yes I know I may be slower off the line and all that but I also want the ability of over 160 mph, speed contests around here constantly involve Corvettes and Vipers on the freeway, they have long gearing, I dont so when I get to 140 I top out. yes yes I know racings bad but I cant help myself =-) anyway wondering if I can take a passat VR6 transmission and take the gears from it and throw them into a G60, also want its gear and pinion because its 3.3:1 just need to know if this is possible to do.

cool shades 16Vrage, they look good if you are driving that ghia....

so Im thinking of replacing the rod bearings and replacing the bolts with ARP bolts, which rod bearings do I buy, ones with squirters or ones without? also if I wanted to do crank bearings how much harder would it be? also which ones of those do I need? I never paid much attention to rod bearings but now I feel as if I should replace mine before I try to rebolt up this supercharger for some summer fun. they make a little jingle right now, very faint but still there. any help would be cool =-). oh and how the heck do I take those 2 bolts on the oil sump out when they are set back so far into the genera flywheel area??

hmmmmmm VR ones are longer? wtf?

hmmm whats the deal with everyone telling around about the VR6 lines? Im getting SS lines anyway because they provide better feel and give less flex, but can I do it with regular G60 SS lines? here is a pic

hi everyone, I picked up a set of Girling 60 front brakes off of an audi 5000 turbo here in the states. I just finished grinding all the brake dust off them and coating them with some ceramic caliper paint. anyway my question is this, I have a G60 and everyone says that I need SS brake lines from a VR6 in order to fit these. well problem is this, I look at my brakes and I see a screw fitting directly on the line. I look at the audi brakes and I see a screw fitting directly on the line as well, do I still need an adapter? Everyone is going ape sh|t about how you need those brake lines but my calipers dont look like they need it... I dunno maybe just me, did audi's come with standard brake lines as well as VR6 style banjo lines.

Car vibrates majorly, off and on, wierd I know.... G60
potatonet replied to potatonet's topic in Engine Bay
hmmm ok, well new development here, if I tap the throttle a few times and let the car jerk back and forward while driving the thing will go away, then if I do that same thing again, (sometimes it doesnt work sometimes it does) the noise and vibration will come back. so Im back to mounts, and its not the control arm bushings that I know of because I replaced those not too long ago. Im wondering if they sent me a VR6 tranny mount, would it be too short? it looked exactly like the old mount though. -

ok so its not the fluid, and its not the mounts (that I know of) cause I just replaced them, what would happen if my rear shock on the drivers side went south, as in its just using spring primarily? would my exhaust start rubbing really hard? oh and its not gearbox bolts, those are all tight. -

hmmmm, I will try checking the fluid first, if the springs had collapsed then it shouldnt be off and on right? -

oh no no no chris, Ive changed transmissions on corrado's way too many times, it takes me about 3 hours to do now =-). thats a G60 trans too, the heavy one. I changed clutch 15k ago. and I am changing the oil in the box this weekend. along with other crap. and checking bolts. -
um can I have the W8 then? hahaha

its a manual and I am going to get another pinion for it, already ordering a speedo cable, -.- coxy no its not my joe cell, thats not in the corrado till I get a carbed 1.8L from a car in brazil from 92 and that will fit my O2A tranny, (they used the same blocks) will check the bolts tho, and I checked the flux capacitor last night, its got plenty of banana peels and potato skins for a while. haha potato -
wow that one dude had 4 smileys in his post, o.O insano... well henny I envy you, if I had a W8, I would be using it up in an instant, and the driveline and the whole everything else, and it would go into a corrado (small mods need to be done, ).... yeah sequential turbo's on those things are like 535 hp and 630 ft/lb of torque.... or thats what I read somewhere.... I like henny's supercharger Idea, how about an AMG charger henny? I got one sitting here already chopped up and ready to go it fed a 6 cylinder wil 13 psi, was going on my car but Im doing something a little more feisty and far fetched. hahaha
