fresh paint! 4 coats -
hi everyone ive got the nugget up and running and found the coolant guage inop, and red light flashing, and also the oil pressure light only work when one wire is earthed, the oil buzzer also dosent work, and the fuel guage sticks, small tap and it works again, i have checked the wiring from the sensor to cluster and relay and its ok, temp sensor ok too, this leaves the cluster or coolant relay. ive got money waiting,so i need an early instrument cluster out of a 1.8 16v would prefer if mileage was around 130k but dosent matter. but the cluster all needs to be fully working coolant guage ,oil buzzer, fuel guage ect, and a coolant relay position no 5 in fully working order. many thanks.

loads more work done, unable to upload pics , just borrowing a computer. to date. i removed the sump to replaced with one that wasent dented, and noted swarf in ther oil!!!! :( :( on further inspection/diagnosis , found big end shells worn out, crankshaft ok, no scores or damage, new vag big end bearings replaced, new sump gasket, oil and filter, removed and replaced oil pump, with a known good one. as the pump had picked slight scores, cleaned all, and reassembled, sump magnet installed. bit depressing to find this, but the engine is super smooth and quite now and i know these are known for shell faliure. it would of damaged the crank if run up any longer, will keep an eye on the oil light. if needs be crank out for a regrind! front and rear backing plates replaced gearbox oil replaced battery tray seam sealed /gravitexed and painted pics to follow. -

a few more pics 2day, whilst i had camera out whilst doing the nugget engine.
-
well! it maybe up for grabs. :D

im toying with the idea, to compliment my schrick manifold, but which cams are best with a manifold?
-
the 5 amp fuse is the circuit for the aux pump. i can sort you out a brake pipe remade using original green pipe, which side is rounded? passenger or drivers side? bowden cable, they go stiff in time. replace them all at one time, and just forget them for 10 years. youll only need to replace the once, about a tenner each. all your parts get genuine, form vw dealership. yes replace the bonnet cable, common problem, you will also need new clamp and screw for the end of the cable.

the car is bullet proof, ive worked on skoda for 2 and half years now, and dont get no problems with them, now the nugget is gone, i have the stormvr6 and the 8v left, ideally i want shot of the 8v, so ican sepend the money from that in doing the storm up. vrs =daily storm vr6 on schrick manifold= weekends toy . its a smarter decision, although the 8v has been good to me. shes done her work 4 years.but its cost me dearly!!3-4 grand. will get some more pics up, when i get 5.
