dodgy cluster? check all the bulbs? they may have blown.do the main beam light work, oil light battery light ect, i think there is two bulbs for the illumination i expect these have gone, swap them with the ones out of your old cluster.

it sounds like one or both of your wheel bearings are worn, you cant always feel if they are gone, by spinning them as they cause a small score /discoulouration in the bearing race, the bearings are about 15 quid a side. worth doing for peice of mind, or you brake pads could be wearing thin, check the pads and disc have plenty of meat on them!

20 quid is still a good price and it close to where you live right? i need to do some rust treatment on the storm , but funds are holding me back. if i ever win the lottery jackpot i would have enough money to fix all the corrados up in the uk!!

thanks its coming along,but im getting short on funds and i would really like to get the engine in running b4 crimbo. the chap in shefield, i asked him about a passenger wing, but it was rotten seems a nicer enough chap, 20 quid for the tail gate, bargain, its ideal, as if it was a different colour then its more awkward to paint as you would need to the inside bit too. i can already imagine a line up of nuggets at volksfest!!! :D

ok spent about all last night, stripping and cleaning the good engine down, im replacing all the seals,gaskets ,coolant flanges,ect.some one has caked every gasket and seals with silicon, exhaust manifold mating service cleaned and old studs removed, so all is now clean ready for all new parts.rung tps this morn and ordered about £250 worth of parts. to list so far ;- new rear main oil seal asssembly and gasket 3 new coolant flanges and o rings new cambelt and tensioner new cam cover gasket new manifold studs and nuts new manifold gaskets oil filter oil cooler to mount seal lower intake manifold crankcase breather gasket and o-ring i also need to clean the block and paint it black, and thats about it for a minute, my misses will kill me if she knew how muchmoney i was spunking on these cars! im supposed to be saving up for furniture! :norty: :nono: will update some more pics when ive fitted all the bits.

an air leak would cause it to idle a little higher,check all vacume hoses for splits and if they are perishing. replace if needed,getting warm? what temps? at idle when driving?

yeah they should be fine. i would recommend supporting the tank with a block of wood or something and taking the straps off, and getting them done. it alot easier when there very little fuel in it.

you can get the pcv valve from ford, the connecting peice is not available,only listed complete with vw 80 plus vat! the pcv valve is new and the pipe is used .

the rear are 15.38 plus vat each front are 12.00 plus vat

what engine? sound like the starter motor has had its days, remove the starter and check for excessive play, also check the ring gear for damage to the teeth, on some cars they have a brass bush, that the starter inserts into, this can be worn and cause similar issues, of noise.

new parts bought from vw front and rear brake backing plates with new retaining bolts new brake flexis all round( front rear and center) with metal spring retainers new pcv valve and connecting peice

i would prob check the emissions first and see if its within spec. and also check the ignition timing while you there, it would rule out fuel and ignition timing problems,

an air leak could def cause poor running as the air to fuel mixture would be incorrect, you could test this and on a gas anylser check the co level.

there is an early and a late heating seat system i think, the early one has a different switch, im just wondering if these seat connector is an early seat ? or the wiring is different between late and early? my storm has 4 pin connector under the seat. looks like your seats must be the early type, or not corrado seats./ or its electric seats not heated.

yeah thats the wing i replaced, as the old one was rotten, and it had fresh paint when i bought it, the car has been stood for four years, ive tryed a bit of t-cut and it comes up really well,the door and all will be machined polished to bring the shine up ,and then waxed to seal it, the colour should blend in fine. i see you got an keen eye for paint!! :lol: :grin:
