  1. your car will have a chip inside the key, its a small rectangular chip, this get coded to the factory immobiliser, the car will not run unless its coded to the car. 2 options of key normal blank, and a blank with a light, but both keys will still have chips inside,
  2. ok, in that case your wiring is damaged or corroded live feed shorting to ground, remove the sill trim and rear quater trims, and inspect the wiring for damaged wires and around the back seat area, the wiring runs down both sides of the car, start with the easiest first, im sure you will find the damaged shorted wire.
  3. the air gap between the sensor and pic up is important, you can try and straighten it ,and retest
  4. try diconnecting the rear lamp connectors on both sides and see if it blows still, it could be one of lamps shorting out.
  5. alternator output should be between 13.6 and 14. 2 v with afully charged battery, at about 2500-3000rpm.
  6. do you have access to vagcom.? id would check the fault memory. check header tank for oil, or bubbling you may have a headgasket leaking, as for the relays thats odd, i think them relays are ecu and fuel pump, but im sure one of the mods wil confirm. the clicking under the bonnet, can you locate the noise. is the auxillary water pump running ok when the ignition is turned on. the fact you say you have good spark and fuel, it should fire, but if the cam sensor is down it may not.
  7. just a quick one, dont mean to hijack does anyone have the part numbers for the ecu relay and fuel pump relay for a 1995 vr6, cheers in advance
  8. ok, i still need to make up the front to rear and the front brakes lines, using my original brakes pipes off my vr, i will sort some prices ect, and get bk to you all soon. :D
  9. yes sounds about right, try flicking the relays with your finger when your sat in the car in neutral, it will normally stutter or cut out.
  10. the only way i would buy that is to break it!! but before that! i would get a orbital sander on that awful paint and sell the panels primered grey! what a waste!why orange!
  11. ive just replaced all by back brakes lines with brand new green oem metal pipe, and they turned out really well, i have bought a special pipe bender , so i can make some really tight bends, just a thought, as the ready made pipe were made obsolete, and only a reel of pipe can be bought, would anybody be interested in a set , i can make the rear up in about 1hr to the exact spec using genuine pipe.

  22. 3-3.5 k approx, the low mileage helps
  23. do you think? they are original green pipe , just like when the car was first made, and they last about 15 years , well mine has, might be worth doing a group feeler.?
  24. progress been slow, been doing work on the nugget 16v, but ive got to rattle on and get the storm up to scratch. i ordered new brake line from vw 4 quid per meter comes in 5 meter rolls.oem green pipe! new male brake unions, fully shaped and flared took me a while steel pipe is hard to bend neatly without the right tools and paitence.and without kinking the pipe, remade all the rear pipes, pics below, they are exact replicas of the original, i hate the look of cooper pipe. below sykespickavant flare tool, original pipes and a template, below are the new and old pipes side by side.
  25. that looks quite bad the rear quater especially, but im sure that could be put right again, depending on what option you choose with the insurance. your health and well being is much more important, so get your self checked out at the docs. keep your chin up,as they say, all things happen for a reason, even the bad things in life.!! the sweet is never as sweet without the sour.!!
