  1. you know what this means!!! yes the 8v needs to go, im aware its the wrong time of the year, i have invested silly money into it.the paint work is perfect. i have a few choices. i sell it as it is and loose out, as its got lots of extra , 12 month old miltec,borbet a, coilovers, leather ect. break her, and use the good bits on the storm. sell completly standard all good bits of it?? i just cant decide.as it so hard to let go!! but the storm is something ive always wanted!! :shrug:
  2. the skoda brand has taken alot of stick over the years, but its truely a cracking car, limited edition , race blue colour,leather,a/c ,tinted windows,cruise,electric everything, fully loaded, 1.9 pd engine 130bhp, more torque than a porsche boxster!!

  5. i made a smart chioce, to get a newish car that came into work, it wasnt cheap, but i believe it will pay for itself over the years to come in low tax,insurance and good fuel consumption. can you guess what it is? limited edition and not many of them made.only done 15,000 miles, in 3 years from new its a 2007 my.   6. sounds like your (5th )cold start injector isnt working, you can remove this, and see if its injecting, when is when the engine is cold, so a search top right.

  8. usually inbalance is worn discs warped causing an inbalance on the opposed wheels, do you have brake judder when braking felt through the pedal,the bias valve will most likely be seized as mentioned,lubricate it,and work up and down.
  9. sounds like 1st gear teeth are worn/damaged,unlikely a bearing if your saying its in 1st, check oil level, box may need to come out,also check front wheel bearings.
  10. ive got a brand new early gearknob unused in my for sale thread, it will fit late and early cars.
  11. heres some pics of the unit, the tabs are glued back on with strong 2 part epoxy, im sure you could make something out of the two?
  12. i would replace the relays, they will have a dry soldered joint, and it will cause an intermitant cut out.
  13. i have got one, and the cogs are good,tabs reglued let me know if you want them
  14. i have a set of heater controls, working but the tags were broken and i re-glued them, ideal for spares or repair for the cogs/gears ect.i will get a picture up 25 quid posted,
  15. if you have replaced the cambelt recently , you only need to be a tooth out on the intermediate shaft which turns the dizzy, to be out on the ignition timing.
  16. looking great , almost there, if you paying good money ,make sure you go over everything, and if your not happy tell them. they are providing a service, and when it comes to paint its gotta be right, i had a full paint job, on my 8 v looked great for 6 months and then after that i noticed paint problems, shrinkage in the rear quater where i had a repair job done,(dent).its been redone again and is all good.
  17. ive now sold the corrado to my dad, so he will be putting the engine in with my help, so good news it will stay in the family, and it should get looked after.may be a chance to buy it back again when i find some money! :)
  18. who really know exactly how many storms are left? but i dont think there is that many. my personal opinion keep it stock, and if needs be rebuild the engine, the car will be worth more in the future, im put off by modifed cars, as i think they have been abused.do mods yes if you wish, but ones that a reversable, the vr engine is def worth keeping!! youve got a peice of vw heritage, and the storms in time will be worth a small fortune.
  19. im sure that ignition timing setup is correct , i have an ady, and work nxt to vw, i set myn up, using 50501b vw machine, put the car into a basic setting, 01q on 50501b, adjusted ignition timing , using tipex on flywheel tdc mark, strobe light lead on no1 cylinder, and adjust to spec, i also have a vw factory manual on the 2.0liter engine for fault finding will get a picture of it , see if i can get more info.
  20. my cable has stuck on this morning, wish i replaced both of them last year, instead of just the one one !! doh :brickwall:
  21. its a cable issue , exactly the same happened to me last year , it was the drivers side handbrake cable stuck, i worked the handbrake up and down, in the end i got a hammer and punch , and tapped the handbrake leverpart on the stuck on calliper side, i freed up, but happened again the next day, ordered a new cable, all fine since.
  22. i know, i dont wanna let it go, but i have to , ive seen a car i want to buy, and i ve got my storm and 8v, so one has to go. i cant have 4 cars to my self. :grin: :lol: i would be nice to get the engine installed and running, ive been eager to get this done, but, to do it properly, i need a new startermotor and clutch and a few other bits to make it reliable. the price represents the money i have spent on it, and the engine work has been done to a high standard, the interior is spotless for a 20yr old car. if i cant sell within the next few weeks, i may have to keep her. and put the engine in nxt year , and get myself a loan out for a deposit.
  23. up,will have to go on ebay,if i have no interest. the interior is mint,and the engine is ready to go.
