  3. Well the huge list of jobs has been started . The first job i am tackling is the leaking sump gasket . I removed the sump when i got home , so i have to remove the iol filter housing , then give all the bottom end a good clean and replace the parts . Then its on to the ball joints , trackrod ends , wishbones etc . I can already see the ball joint on the drivers side is totally shot . I will get all the pics up as i go . Rob
  4. Evening all , As above what is the best gasket to use for the sump ? Many thanks Rob

  11. As some of you know I am planning on refurbishing the under side of my car . My first problem is , I will have to use my friendly mechanics ramp , as this is going to be a ball ache to do in the drive . I was going to ask him how much he wanted for a weekends work . I can't see the underneath parts inc bushes , drop links , track rod ends ect being done in a day . Anyway the question I wanted to know was , what's the costing involved in powder coating ? Ballpark or rough figure? . If it's going to cost too much , then I may have to think about , using a dremmel and hammeriting the parts instead .obviously I want to do the best I can with the car , but I have to consider the costs as well . I will be doing the job too as I don't want to give the car to someone with all the parts and say "there you go , get on with it " . It's nice to look at a finished product and think , I did that . Many thanks Rob
  12. Nice pics , love the classic shows , I could not go , I was with the kids in Longleat.
  13. Personally I think some of it is down to how the car has been serviced , ie new rad , old rad . What coolant is in the system , old or new thermostat ect . Mine sits at 76 most of the time and gets higher in traffic , fans cut in at 83 . As soon as I get on to and open road it sits at 76 again . Rob
  14. The oil temps were a lot higher before Jon . Me and Robbier R32 went for a drive last week , bit of a bashing on the A38 , the highest I got was 102 on the oil reading .
