Hi all , I purchased a red Vr badge a few days ago . It has a scuff on it , so it was cheap , the red has come off in one place revealing the black base coat .Im going to paint it but what's best to use ? Also does anyone know the colour ? Thanks Rob

I think the yellow sender is the one for the gauge.Someone will correct me if im wrong . Your senders are found on the front of the block , they are under a plastic cover . You will see a plastic circlip , pull that out and the sender will come out , these have a rubber 'o' ring ,make sure if its not on the end of the sender ,to take it out of the hole as the new one comes with a new ring ,trust me you dont want two in there !.As for the fuses im not sure which one operates this ? or which relay . If you type in temp sender in the search it will come up with the relay problem . Rob

Would have thought , either relay Inthe wrong place ? See fourth page on posts or find in using the search , or a fuse , or like you said the sender , has to be one of them . Just a process of illimination

This may have been brought up before? . But I was under the impression that if you messed people around using PayPal , you can go through them to sort it ?. I thought it was hard to set a PayPal account up again if you got struck off from it ? .i know you can just reregister another email addy but you have to sort the banking side as well . I know what it's like to be ripped of , Torsten never sent my grill after he had my dough. Then comes on here and people were praising him on his car and I'm sat there thinking , what a tosser!. Rob

Someone might have one from a breaker , but could be a bit stretched and end up with bad fitting . Maybe have to claim on windscreen ins ?

Christ there a some absolute c''ks driving around ,there really are !.I was picking up my kids last week and as i went slowly round a bend and over a bridge ,a bloke was coming the other way , he was on the blower and very nearly hit the rado , his child was in the back of the car ,the windows were down as it was a nice day .I clearly heard his child scream as the front end of his car violently dipped under heavy breaking . Total knob .

The engine movement should be minimal really , obviously with it being a big lump , you will see a bit , but it should just slightly move as the throttle is blipped , as there has to be enough for tension movement on parts Edit just seen last post , glad you found the problem

A way of checking the engine mounts is to rev the car either with a mate using the pedal or you doing it from the throttle body and seeing how much movement there is in the engine position as the revs blip up and down .Obviously there is a little movement but you will notice too much movement .I would also check ball joints as well . Best ive ever had from the vr is 37 mpg , i stuck at bang on 65mph from devon to worcs .

Hi all , while the old girl is in the paint shop , i am thinking about what badges to put back on . I have a chrome vw badge and the standard vr6 badge , would it look too, ott with a chrome corrado script ? a bit blingy ,or best to use my colour coded one ?.any opinions welcome . Rob
