Thanks mate , basically I had the rear end smoothed , two years later I'm going back to oem , they welded up the badge hole but its a bit messy to try ang cut the hole out for the badge to sit in . So the painter requires about 5" square around the badge section , so he can cut mine out and weld in the other piece . How much posted to Devon mate ? Rob

As above , I need the bit about 5'' or so , where the Vw badge sits . Anyone breaking , that is willing to cut this out for me ? Rob

No it does not look like it , thats the cause of the problem i think , ive got the condensation bags in the car but its still going to cause problems . They are going to treat this while she is in the shop .

Getting more rare by the day these , few breaking on here , give em a shout , you could get lucky

Congrats on getting a vr , yes i know this car , i helped out when it was converted to manual and the interior repaint to the leather and plastics , back when she was down south .Enjoy .

Thats a real bummer , gutting really . The thing these animals dont realise is ,one day they will have there first corsa , polo, or whatever and it will be scratched by someone of vandalised ,only then will they know how it feels .

My vr is back in to have those niggles sorted , it looks like the welds in the boot area were never treated when i had them smoothed , so what with condensation in the car in the mornings ,the paint has started to bubble . Its either that or a small pinprick hole in the filler and water has got in ?, not sure which and its the same on both sides ,So im having the filler and weld taken out and the badges put back on , although they will be stuck on so i wont have any tab holes its back to oem for me . Will post pics on my thread as i get them . Rob

Will let you know tomorrow , when they have been out to sort it. But going on what others have said ,yes it should be fine with silicone . Rob

Noticed today this part is not sitting right and there is a gap behind it . I am presuming this is a snap on and off part ?. Stupid thing is im sure i removed for repaint , but i cant remember how it came off , just wanted to check before removing and fitting back in place . Rob
