2012 Corrado Forum Calendar! - All Over For Another Year!
Chrisvw419 replied to _Meth's topic in General Car Chat
Ordered mine, thanks for sorting! -
Looks like the Sport models share the same part numbers on shocks and springs, but quite a few deviations on other models. I used to have a Vento and when I got it, the previous owner had replaced the rear shocks at some point with mk3 golf items but due to the extra wait associated with saloon at the rear it didn't feel good at all. Fronts shouldn't be too much of an issue though as long as the replacements come from a TDI Sport. Hope this helps.

Count me in also! -
Hi there, As above I need the part numbers for the 2 pin male plugs which carry the live and ground feeds to electric recaro seat bases for height and tilt adjust. My Etka is playing up so wondering if anyone can help? I know, I could make the loom with spade connectors but would like to use factory connectors, part numbers for the terminals inside would also help along with the male plug to the back of the fuse box. Thanks in advance. Chris
-
One of my old work vans used to do a similar thing. Basically, water was getting in above the fuse box and dripping onto it and then shorting out some of the rails causing them to become live without ignition. I would advise checking the fuse box and relays for water damage or ingress of water.

Unfortunately, I doubt he will. Have hinted my interest in the fronts and he's a compulsive hoarder, he's got more useful parts in his collection of garages than VW themselves.

One of my mates got an advanced warning about a Corrado with recaros going to a scrap yard we frequently visit. We got another mate to pop in as it was local(ish) to his work, he got there to see it come in and it had a grey leather recaro interior that was near on mint condition, oh and it was a G60 Apparently the owner ran out of cash and needed rid quick. Anyway, my mate returned the next day and made a cheeky offer of £250 for the whole interior thinking he would get told to do one. To my mates shock he accepted the offer and chucked in the supercharger!! The interior is just sitting in his garage now as he doesn't own a corrado or have any intention of putting it in any of his projects. If only I had not been away that weekend, thats gotta be the scrapyard bargain of the century.
-
Isn't it cheeky that they mention the offer codes on their homepage but don't automatically add the discount??? Anyway, cheers for the info, just saved £23.

Seen one in the flesh at Edition 38....look superb and real good quality, undecided on whether I want carbon fibre though!

Quicky 1980 I will take you up on your late spec dials if you decide to sell and ofcourse the price is right, let me know???? Cheers Chris

Yes, the light is the whole thing. Sometimes when it comes on people either unplug the connector behind or as I have seen on more than one of mine, remove the front and fill it with blu-tac. I would guess either the above or the lamp has gone. Once replaced it will probably stay on. However, if vag.com shows no faults then I have no idea why the ABS won't work???
-
Also, if the light has never come on...is the bulb operating, the lamp should illuminate for a couple of seconds then go out if all ok. Bear in mind the corrado abs isn't that great in my opinion.
-
Pictures as promised, not the best due to size restrictions but if you want let me know and I can forward them on!

Will get some up when I'm back home this evening!

Hi mate, Had a good chat with you today about this....I'm the one with the Classic Green Storm??? Looking good although that photo really doesn't do the car the justice it deserves...I'm sure you must have others but I got some fairly decent shots if not. Keep up the good work. Chris

1991 Porsche 944 RS3 Steering Wheel conversion =-)
Chrisvw419 replied to TheVims79's topic in Interior
Correct, although they did toy with the idea of an 944 S3 they didn't make one. Do you mean Porsche RS steering wheel??? I'm sure I answered this same question at the start of the week??? ---------- Post added at 10:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:51 PM ---------- Aww, I see what you have done...... You have started two seperate threads! I have now looked at the link and that steering wheel is really just a generic type like a momo etc. As I said in the last thread, phone and check the spline size, they should be able to answer that! Oh....and it's a Porsche RS.....3 spoke steering wheel! -
To my knowledge the corrado has the same width seat rails as that found in the Mk2 Golf. The Mk3 had wider spacing on the floor pan so therefore a small amount of modification will be required. So I think you will find they are not a straight swap. The rear bench are a different shape, again with a bit of tweaking they would fit, but your lose the the corrado style rear bench and in my opinion wouldn't look great.

The 944 steering wheel is his passat has no airbag its the usual non-turbo 4 spoke wheel. However, his dad has a later 903s steering wheel in his Golf G60. so I assume that era used the same spline type. I can't recall what the wheel you have looks like??? Although I have seen many airbag steering wheels used in cars without the airbag being used so you should be ok. ---------- Post added at 02:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 PM ---------- Ah, think I know which wheel your on about now. If its the one I'm thinking of, it has changeable boss kits, as long as you get the model for the 944. The VW size (someone correct me if I'm wrong??) is 26mm in diameter as is the original 944 I think. The 944 could of had the smaller spline which early mk2 golfs (17mm), but that in that instance you can remove the adapter with a bearing puller. Hope this helps.
