  1. Good to hear another recommendation for someone local and glad to hear your car is doing OK!
  2. There's a small bunch of us going to the Revival this year, including a couple of friends coming over from Germany - be good to see some more CCGB / forum folks there, Fay! Hoping to get into the spirit of things and dress in appropriate clothing too :)
  3. Good work mate :) Looking forward to seeing this resprayed. I guess you're sticking with the original colour?
  4. Looks a nice day out - hopefully can make it along to this one next year, date depending.

    Windows 8 Etka CD

Sorry, Ron - we can't have discussions about this on the forum as ETKA is copyrighted material. It is illegal to distribute it, or discuss information on where to obtain it so I've got to lock this up.
  6. I'm not sure ANY Corrado is worth £15k to be honest, even the very nicest ones in the country. The only one I'd think was worth that is the one in the Karmann museum that I don't think has ever gone out on the roads. It's completely immaculate and as new.
  7. Same colour as my old G60 - I think it's a great colour! :)
  8. It's not a contradiction - I'm just thinking out loud about the various scenario's. If you wanted me to come down on one side then honestly, frankly, I'd rather it didn't sell for that sort of money at all. And I stand by my gut feeling that it won't until the price comes down by at least 25%.
  9. "My god... a flying pig!" :) In many respects you're right - it'd be nice for it to sell for that, purely to help the Corrado economy along.. but I'd hate for the person who bought it to subsequently find out they could have had it for less than half that price. I know if it was me, I'd be pretty ****ed off. I know that's just business and all that, but the vendors here have done nothing. Bought it, washed it, took some new photo's, got some information off Wikipedia, and doubled the price. Chris Gaskell's Storm didn't even sell for anything near that, and that was a genuine concourse, enthusiast owned VR6 Storm. The traders don't deserve to get their asking price for that G60.
  10. Yeah indeed.. it looks fantastic!
  11. How can these traders be so goddamn shameless - I bet they didn't even pay the 7k asking price for that G60. Really biting my lip to send him some aggro.
  12. There's absolutely no chance of that car selling for that money.
  13. Yeah it was a buyers guide thing basically, running over three pages :)
  14. Would have been along to this but have other plans this weekend :(
  15. Maybe if we are lucky it will trigger some system at VW to kick off an order with Speed line for a new batch to be made (hah!)

    Suspension Kit - VR6

Would that account for why hitting even a small pothole is quite a jarring experience then in my case? Sorry, not meaning to try and take over this thread but suspension has remained forever quite a dark art to me so it's quite enlightening to learn a bit more for those who are far more knowledgeable about such things :)

    Suspension Kit - VR6

Gonna have to hold my hands up and say I can't stand the factory ride height.. not having it a bit lower just isn't an option! B12's and standard ARB's sounds like a good starting point for me. Out of curiosity could you elaborate on why the stiffer / thicker ARB's would be such a bad thing? I figured that, as the name suggests, it simply takes out roll.. does this result in a much firmer ride though? What are the negatives of stiffer ARB's?

    Suspension Kit - VR6

As ever Kev, you're a font of knowledge. Appreciate the info. Suspension is on the list to tackle after the engine work is done, and I've got some paint sorted so this will be the plan of attack :)

    Suspension Kit - VR6

Look forward to hearing how you get on with it Dave. As you say, Ian seems very happy with the kit and has promised me a ride out in the car next time I meet up with him so I can see what it feels like. As you say, should complete your car really given how much work you've put into everything else :)
  20. Haha :) I tend to stick one on these days when the sun comes out as I seem to burn really easily.
  21. Guys - please stop posting about this. I've deleted other threads on the subject already. The chap was very polite in his PM's to me, despite the drubbing he took on here and purely listed it based on what he'd found on eBay and I genuinely don't believe he was looking to use the forum to profiteer in any way.
  22. The main clip is on the underside of the handbrake grip.. I think you can insert a screwdriver or similar to release it but it is a meaty clip and doesn't like to let go easily. One on the top is tiny so ignore that.
  23. Sorry to hear that Jake. Maybe time to start the listings below the 3K mark and see if it tempts some people into bidding, and eventually bidding over?
  24. I had my G60 down there at a GPS verified 140MPH so reading a bit faster on the speedo... even if the car had more to give (which it did) I certainly didn't - was happy to back off by that point! :) I've got the magazine feature somewhere - I'll have to dig it out for old times sake :)
