  1. Proper sleepers those - love it! :) You must have shown up a few chavs in that thing..
  2. Hm.. there are a few folks down that way. Will have to put out an SOS and see if anyone could grab it for me :)
  3. Sorry chap - we don't do "offers" on Cars for Sale - please arrange with your mate a fixed price, drop me a PM, and we'll unlock & update the thread.
  4. Where abouts are you based? Hoping I might be able to get a local to pick it up for me...
  5. Yes! I'm after a humped one so I can carry a full size spare. Are you going to the National Day or any other meets / shows in the coming months?

    VSR manifold

Agreed with Jaymo's post... this has gone on long enough!
  7. Interesting... yes.... I'd happily go half & half - £70 each?

    VSR manifold

No need to apologise - I don't blame you at all! I'd never sell on eBay without using PayPal as my payment option (or cash on collection).
  9. Damn - wish these didn't have tyres on!
  10. Welcome! Car looks excellent!! :)
  11. I got the GKN from Euro Car Parts - seems to be fine on my VR. The cost of new ones from VW was extortionate when I last checked (January).
  12. I'm at the point that, if I knew a brand new head would fix the issue, I'd probably pay it. It drives me nuts!
  13. Often been told that this noise can emanate from a leak in the exhaust manifold gasket... possible suspect?
  14. Yeah - think you have the exact same symptoms as me. I also find that if I drive very gently on the throttle from cold all the way to the car getting warmed up (keeping it below 2,200RPM'ish) that things don't sound that rattly. It's only after the car is warmed up and giving it a bit more revs that the problem becomes quite noticable. I seem to experience it in all the same sorts of rev ranges as you do based on your other post so keen to hear how you get on.
  15. Keep us updated - interested to know if they quieten down the ticking / tapping problem.
  16. Yeah - I've written about this fairly extensively as I went through the same pain but you'll need to have a bit of a search to find it. Just turned this thread up explaining in pictures what you need to do! http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=76195
  17. We're not doing too badly... my old man has an R reg Merc C240 estate. Only a cheap motor - can pick these up for next to nothing these days. Central locking pump packed up today and looked on eBay - found one from a breaker for £30. Out of curiosity I rang up Mercedes Benz - one of those 'wish I was sitting down' moments when the guy quoted me £500+VAT. The pump is similar sort of VAC system to the one the Corrado uses... not sure where Mercedes plucked that price from but seriously what a joke!!
  18. I have the same thing with mine (also have SP263's) and have done for the last few years - it drives me nuts and have been told the same that 'some VRs just sound like that' - would love to know the reason for it though, and what could be done to SHUT IT UP.
  19. Well deserved Chris - it's surely one of the best Corrado's in the country.
  20. OBD port is underneath the gear surround. Grab either side of the trim and just lift (with a little force) straight up and it should come off. You should see the OBD port towards the front of the gear tunnel.
  21. Annoyingly the G60 and 16V radiators are available on VW Classic Parts - hopefully only a matter of time till they get VR6 ones made up!
  22. The original Denso Marston is no longer available from VW hence having to go the aftermarket route if you want a VR radiator :(
  23. I remember this competition but never realised the Corrado had won an overhaul. Shame the videos are so light on detail - would love to know what was done to the engine, etc in a bit more detail!
  24. Definitely use the search function for more information on this one... VR6 radiators have been discussed a load in the last few months :) The short and skinny answer is that the Hella VR6 radiator (which I think can be found on eBay) is very good and well worth your money.
  25. I'm a bit too clueless to explain but here's a Wikipedia page that'll explain: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable-length_intake_manifold In the context of the Corrado is was a bolt on option produced by VW Motorsport to replace the standard intake manifold on the VR6.. I think you could buy them as an option when buying a new Corrado though not entirely sure on that. Does sound like an interesting verion of the Corrado you've got - would be interested to see a lot more pictures including the VSR and stuff like the interior..
