  1. Yep - think the solitudes as a wheel have aged well and look great on the Corrado now.. not that I'm biased. Looks like a nice solid base for a project and I look forward to seeing it evolve! :)
  2. Where are you based, EJ Taylor? Happy to take you out for a run in my VR which has cams and a remap to see if you think it feels any different! I think we chatted at the NEC Classic Car Show on the CCGB stand? (I've got short dark hair and glasses..)

If you did something in your neck of the woods, I'd make the trip over and come crash at Reidy's... never enough reasons to go to his, so would be keen for a good excuse to head over that way :)

I'm a little confused here - I think you may have misread what I posted. I had never realised I had posted something you had taken as offensive and unprofessional. That is never ever my intention and I'd hope that anyone who knows me would know I'm not like that. I'm going to go back now and re-read the thread as I'm very confused. Regarding your comments - they're of course welcome. We want the feedback. But I also want to have the opportunity to post feedback and my own opinions. *edit* Ah - I see what you mean. I'll PM you to explain and hopefully clear up confusion.

From the forum point of view (and not CCGB) the responsibility for this rests on our members. Some folks have made the effort to organise events / meets this year (and I can include myself in that!) but evidently the vast vast majority don't. In short Neil, if you fancy attending an eastern meet, get one organised mate!! :)
  6. Unbelievable. I should imagine the dad will be in shock when he sees the repair quote.. good luck!
  7. I have 263's in mine and despite disappointing results on the rolling road, it does feel quick... will steam it's way up to 100MPH no problems, and I've watched it effortlessly pull round to 130 without much sign of letting up (when I was in Germany back in September before anyone asks) but I wimped out at that point - certainly a worthy modification!

But Stealth dyno days ARE club / forum days. I organise them for forum and club members, and its those very folks who go to it!! :)

I'm slightly disappointed you feel this was your experience. We arranged to meet up and had a good chat at the petrol station before we headed down to the meet in convoy. I didn't presume you needed introductions and stuff given that you'd already gone to the meet (the name of which escapes me) at Malvern and certainly come across as a fairly confident, outgoing sort of guy. Certainly in my experience of going to meets with other clubs (such as PistonHeads) the exact same thing happens.. and the responsibility is on you to go and chat to people - something which I find fairly tough as I'm not the most confident when it comes to chatting to strangers. I can accept that there may come across as an element of "clique" about existing members but speaking from my own perspective, that's not intentional - club meets are just opportunities to catch up with friends and have a fun day out. When it comes to "representing the club" in an official capacity then I do so, like the the NEC Classic Car Show. I'll don the club top and lurk around the stand and talk about Corrado's and whatever else to folks who come onto the stand. But at general events like meets and so forth, I want to go and check the place out too - having never been to Beaulieu I was keen to see the site and socialise with my friends. I'm not going to defend the position and can accept that perhaps this is something we need to work on too? But I just didn't think we were doing anything wrong in this respect.
  10. Wow - Solitudes on steroids. Reckon they'd work pretty well. Go for them mate - never seen them before!

Disappointing to hear that you felt excluded and that you weren't able to join in. I do distinctly remember chatting to you a little bit, but I was keen to catch up with friends that I hadn't seen for a while including friends who'd come over from Germany. I do remember very clearly feeling a bit left out when I first registered with the club way back in the Brian Rose days - the onus is really on you to come up and chat though, as it's the only way you'll get to know people etc! But I do take onboard that I could be a bit more friendly to new faces. ---------- Post added at 09:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ---------- And Judith - yep, I do have a selection of issues from the last few years. Would be happy to sort some out for Neil.
  12. Just a quick bump to say I'm still 100% interested on the fixed height column and plastic steering column cowling (both parts) - just let me know when you're able to remove it. Cheers.

Google! :) Took me all of 5 seconds to find this! :)
  14. You've got the Evo for the on road ability.. this would be great for a point and squirt run around especially with tax as cheap as that. Go for it!
  15. Lots of videos uploaded now from my mates camera :) They're available in 720p too! http://www.youtube.com/user/DeviantUK

I don't think folks should be afraid to say "the wrong thing" - I think we all accept there are things that need fixing and the more feedback we can get on what people think is right and wrong with the club, then I think it will help us to give people what they want.

If we simply cannot get people who a) have time to spare and b) want to fill the positions though, I'm not sure what we can do.

Ah I see.... :( I think the committee really need to have a conversation.

I'm not sure what more I can do other than ask in the editors note at the front of every issue of The Sprinter, and every AGM! :(
  20. PICTURES! Whole bunch of pictures from my buddy Steve here: He's working out what to do with over 1GB of video... will see about getting them onto YouTube or something perhaps?
