    Ccgb?

It's no defence I know.. and I know we keep saying we'll crack this kind of thing. Speaking from my own point of view, we're in a position where a lot of the club members struggle with time to commit to running the show, but (and I know this sounds ridiculous) no one wants to step up to take it on in any of our places. We hold elections at the AGM in April, and every position is up for the taking - but for the last few years at least, no one has volunteered other than the existing members. So we're in a situation where we try and carry on as we are, or large numbers of us just quit and the club becomes no more. What are we supposed to do? I guess this shouldn't become an open debate as such but it's a subject that keeps coming up - and I am more guilty than anyone in the club of failing to deliver on my obligations as the editor of the Sprinter. I would personally welcome some informed opinions on exactly what the answer is because I honestly just don't know.
  2. What a day! I just want to say a big thanks for everyone who came along today and made it a great success. Thanks go out especially to Wendy who very kindly manned the BBQ all morning cooking sausages and burgers for everyone and doling out the mince pies and stuff - it was very kind of you to give up your time! Appreciate everyone who put in money towards the food as there is no forum "fund" for organising this stuff and it all had to come out of my pocket up front! Big thanks also to pete_griff for sorting out the delicious sausages, and thanks of course to Vince, Jon and Dave for their hard work all day in the workshop getting the cars in / out and on the rollers. Hope you all had a good time and I look forward to organising the next one - probably in a year or so!! If there are any folks who didn't run their cars, and who didn't get a refund from me on the day please PM me - I do have some cash left over and would rather refund you than make profits! Disappointing day for me as my VR didn't hit the sorts of power figures I was expecting - in fact it was quite a long way off with only 190BHP and 188lb/ft of torque... not good :( Think once the finances have recovered from christmas, it'll be in to DG Autotech or Stealth for a bit of a diagnostic session unfortunately! Thanks.
  3. I don't mind a few people coming late if they come from far away... it's fair enough. But it does mean I can't be sure where you'll be on the running order so please don't expect to come and be running your car on the rollers immediately so you can make an early get away! :)
  4. I believe Nick sold the car quite a few years back but don't remember if the new owner ever surfaced or not!
  5. Sorry you can't make it Neil. On the plus side it means I don't have to be embarrassed that the VR still hasn't had any paintwork done yet... I have got the money put away though and will be booking it in once christmas is out of the way :)
  6. If you can pay me by bank transfer by lunchtime tomorrow, then yes. Otherwise no for the reason stated in my post on the previous page.
  7. Sorry to hear you want to part with it but having seen the lack of progress over the last year or two because of your very busy life, it did seem to be heading that way so can totally understand. So with that in mind, what condition is the rear bumper in mate and what would you want for it? How is the paint on it? ;)
  8. Beautiful! Welcome to the forum :)
  9. Looks like she needs a bit of work but looks like it'll scrub up well. Keep us posted! :)
  10. Aside from folks on the list, no unexpected new folks running on the day unfortunately. If you're willing to pay up front now, you can go on the list tho! Normally not a problem to just take payment on the day... however, after a conversation with pete_griff this weekend, he's one of the folks with a rear wheel drive car. Stealth need to reconfigure the workshop for RWD cars and as a result, do this at the end of the day when all the FWD people have done their runs. It means that it'll be quite unfair and a long day / wait for folks who have (in good faith) paid up front. Pete didn't ask for this so I don't want to implicate him as being to "blame" for this decision - he just made the observation and I realised it was pretty crap for him and Tempest!

    OEM Oil Volt Guage

Want to part with it? I've been thinking about one for a while...

    Rear screen woes

Indeed they are (supposed to be) :)
  13. Just a bump to remind those folks coming to this who are NOT ROLLERING THEIR CARS to please park at the FRONT of Stealth Racing or in front of the offices closest to the main road, and NOT around the back - I only want those folks running their cars to park there. If you do park up in the wrong spot, I will be asking you to move! Thanks.
  14. Make sure you guys are nice and awake.... ;) Wendy knows that road VERY well..
  15. Open up your car boot and put stuff on display? The Stealth car park itself isn't huge but it's on a little business park where people can spill out into different sections.. logistically having a different area just for the selling of stuff is hard because of needing to keep people nearby to get their car on the rollers, etc!
  16. Need to be careful of placement of wheel weights too apparently mate - 288's are a better fit behind Solitudes apparently, but on Speedlines you need to ensure that wheel weights are well away from the callipers as they will catch.
  17. I'll take the classic green grille please mate :) Please PM me with payment info.
  18. I believe that Haldex can be temporarily disabled for a dyno run - but don't hold me to that!
  19. Nando's is great.. but then I hate chilli, so not fussy about such things! :)
  20. I suppose Browns is a possibility because it does mean that we don't really need to book - which appeals. People can just come and go I suppose. And cheers Kempy, payment received OK.
  21. Well I think finally the mystery of noisy belts / pulleys has finally been put to rest. It's been going on for months now. It all started with a properly faulty PAS pump - making an awful noise and when removed it was clear it was toast. Fitted a new one, and after a few weeks starting to get squealing belt when the car was cold. Replaced the belt with a continental belt from ECP - problem still there. Fitted a genuine VAG continental belt.. noise still there. Fitted a replacement PAS pump pulley from VAG.. noise still there! Ran out of ideas so took the car into Stealth today. A bit of poking around and head scratching and Vince noticed that the PAS pulley seemed to be out of alignment with the rest of the bolts. Upon closer inspection it seemed to be fitted the wrong way round. Cue much **** taking from the guys about my lack of technical skills, but my only defence being that I refitted the pulley the same way the old one was fitted.. meaning the nearly new PAS pump I'd fitted, had the pulley fitted on incorrectly as well! So with that fitted, they also kindly fitted their prototype BMC mounting kit / bracket - will try and get a picture tomorrow but a nice bracket that secures against the aux belt tensioner, and then clamps around the BMC holding it fairly securly, with the aid of a rubber mount to help dampen any vibration, etc.
  22. Do you still know Neumann, and is he still involved with Neuspeed? Just wondering if he could be persuaded into making more Corrado parts again ;)
  23. Given that he seems to be based in the USA, I'd say that's a safe bet ;) Looks absolutely lovely and great to see an original, unmolested, one owner Corrado.. can't be many of those left any more!
