[Event] Stealth Racing RR Day - November 27th, 2011 -- PAYMENT
Jim replied to Jim's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Cheers Dave.. payment received. Regarding a meal or something on the Saturday night, I'd be happy to book something (like a pizza place or something?) for folks coming over but would need to firm up on numbers, etc. If you fancy posting in here whether you're a dead cert for food in say Leamington (not far from Stealth - about a 15-20) minute drive then let me know. -
Indeed - and whilst Supercharged didn't do the conversion on his, he has done a fair amount of work on it since so knows what's been used and stuff..
-
Awesome find! I wonder where that came from?!

Indeed. And as stated - we are going to run a BBQ doing some basic sausages / burgers, but running it at cost price - so should be reasonable! -
Well done mate - great skills. Be interesting to see how it does on the rollers! Something I'd like to do to mine one day! What did it set you back in bits mate?

Up for a meet / meal / beverage, Neil. Trying to tempt Reidy up the evening before so would be good to get a few of us together. -
This should be interesting! Looking forward to following this :)

Wonderful news Kev :) Can't wait to see it! On the subject of the R32 conversion, I'd seriously consider it.. would you consider a commission to do another one of these on someone elses car? ;)

Ok. I'm in absolutely no hurry so weeks / months is not a problem. How about £40 for everything (column, cowling) ? I can collect too as I'm in the midlands. -

Hiya.. does this have the fixed height steering column? If so I'd like a price for the whole steering column and the fixed-height cowling / surround stuff. I'll take it 100% subject to it being reasonably priced :) -
A bit too scene for me.. but fair play for just going and doing what you like! At least you've made it your own :) And yeah - another thumbs up for the pedo-bear stickers.. nice one ;)

Hard to tell because of the state of it.. I'm almost thinking Midnight Blue but not sure!
-
Also notice the rear VW badge is missing, as is the securing grommet meaning you'll have a boot full of water. And rust. One to avoid I think. However it doesn't look too far gone for someone with a bit of spare cash and some time - looks like it could be saved!

Don't know if anyone stopped by Dream Rides but they had a Jaguar XJ220.. passenger rides were 100 quid. Goes to charity and you get a ride in a rare supercar.. win! -

Who's Mike Darren who just paid me? :) -
I don't understand how they screwed it up. They had a very loyal following and a good reputation, and from what I could see had people queueing up to give them business. Absolutely baffling. And wow - not a lot of love on the R32OC. Didn't realise they had been quite so prolific at giving people the run around! :(

Exactly this. I'm running a BMC CDA on my VR at the minute for a bit of fun and don't get me wrong, the roar under full throttle is hilarious. But for me it's not what the car is about. The standard airbox is right.. you can make progress and get to hear the noise of that great engine in the cabin but you're not shouting about it to everyone around you. People who like cars might think "that sounds good" when they hear a BMC'd Corrado steam past, but everyone else is just thinking "chav" !

Having gone quite badly off Audi in the last few years for various reasons, I think it'd have to be the 1M. Saw one in traffic for the first time the other day and it looked cracking! :)

That's the plan! You guys better buy some food cause I've got to stump up the money up front to cover the cost of it! -
Welcome. Looks like it's gone to a good home :) Look forward to seeing more progress on this one :)

Bump. There are a few folks on the list who have been active on the forum but not acknowledged the PM for payment.. I don't mind if you need to delay for whatever reason but please just do the courtesy of letting me know rather than not replying! Thanks. -

Thanks Fay - but you paid me twice! I'm guessing you didn't mean to do that (unless you were feeling very charitable). I know you're on your holidays now but have refunded you one of them. Regarding name badges.. I was thinking of something like this, certainly will help me identify people I don't know, for getting them on the rollers! Will have a think... -
