You'll need two litres.... though I don't think it takes quite that much... something like 1.6L or around there. I've been very happy with Redline MT90!
-
Immobiliser definitely. Hit the search... the trick for fixing the problem has been documented many times :)
-
Yep - 2.0 16v ones were glued on too. It's a right royal pain in the ass as you want to be careful not to be too violent on the distributor to risk bending / damaging the arm! But essentially you do need to use a strong set grips as Kev says to crush the ******* off.

The two runs look pretty similar to me..? Looks OK to me too!
-
Did it seem to be running normally for the few seconds before it cut out? Sounds like classic immobiliser problem...

Having helped Supercharged dismantle his interior a few weeks back to do a heater matrix, we got a pretty good understanding of what makes the heater controls work (or not work). I'd be very surprised if there is anything wrong with the slider controls / the front panel itself. It'll most likely be the bowden cables than link the controls to the heater box. Your problem will be getting to them, getting them all out... you REALLY need the heaterbox out to do a proper repair / investigation as the mechanism / cogs are all on the UNDERSIDE of the heaterbox - a spectacular piece of design by VW! If you really want to get properly to the bottom of heater control issues, it really is a days work pulling apart most of the interior :(

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
Jim replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
I had a feeling it was this one! Did seem like a great buy for someone willing to get their hands dirty. I look forward to seeing how it goes! I'd imagine it'll look 100 times better with just a thorough detailing session TBH! :) -
This is the problem. My car basically needs a complete respray... and so far I know it'll be £3,000-£3,500 to get it done right. I want to do it but such a lot of money and I'll still have a car barely worth £3,500 after getting it done :|

R32 / 3.2 24v Audi conversion guide
Jim replied to quicky1980's topic in [Archive] Wiki Submissions & Collaboration
Do you think you're likely to run into the same "flat spot" problem that Rob has with his R32 or are you doing something different with yours Kev which should eliminate that? -
Don't understand why people get so worked up about the original first aid box... most of them have never had the contents replaced so are consequently, from a medical point of view, completely useless as the kit has an expiry date!
-
Problem is they just cost a fricking fortune... I'm hoping oil / volt gauges is something we can get done by the chinese parts company that 8vMatt used to get the headlight switches done with! I've always wanted a set but just refuse to pay the frankly laughable price!
-
Actually you get surprisingly few around here.. thankfully!
-
Hm.. have to be honest, for me it really doesn't work on the Corrado as a colour.

http://www.vw-classicparts.de/e_content.pl?src=e_cp_index You can try and order direct or go through VW Heritage here in the UK: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_page.render_pageID_916_lang_EN_country_GB.htm Cheers.

Glad to hear this car is finally getting some TLC and getting put back on the road!

Snorkel removal was a really "50/50" modification for me. Sometimes I liked the extra noise, and sometimes that pulsing / throbbing noises from the charger (which got so amplified by the snorkel deletion) just used to get on my nerves and it had to go back in! I really don't know how people put up with the noisiest exhaust and air filter modification combinations on G60's... it'd drive me insane!
-
Maybe worth speaking to Dubpower to see if they can fabricate anything for you? http://dubpower.co.uk/Exhaust%20manifolds.HTM
-
But you don't have to insure it if it's off the road... but you have to declare it as SORN.. you can't leave it taxed and not insure it. Seems straightforward enough to me!

Have been there several times - never a nice feeling :(
-
Yep - on again this year and should have a good amount of Dutch and German Scirocco enthusiasts coming over! Should be a very good meet :)
-
Yep. Another vote for standard VAG discs...
-
Absolutely superb.... picture looks excellent. Glad you had a good time at the ring! How was the TDI on there? Did you notice the extra weight over the nose on the corners or was it well behaved?
-
Sorry - spammer who's posts somehow got approved. They've been taken care of now :)
-
Yep.. certainly amongst the best Corrado's in the country, no doubt about it. I don't think I'd ever want to buy such a well known, cherished car as I'd always feel the spotlight was on me amongst the enthusiast community.. but I hope you go on and have many happy miles with it :)
-
Told ya :) Remember to use the straps under the car to secure it.. had the wind get under my one several times and take it clean off! :(
