Hi arefin76, thanks for your comments 8) I just sanded & polished what you can see of the manifold with thr bonnet up. I got a couple off knocks on the knuckles when doing the curved bit at the front (arround the dipstick etc.). As for the oil cooler, I did the top and, the front side you can see with the bonnet open. As for the rear lenses, I think I'll put on the 'crystal' vinyl film (in-pro style) and then put a tint over it. I'm going to do this tommorow.
  3. Hi ToniH, Welcome to the forum... The earlier VR6 has a distributer cap but, same engine. Not sure about anything else really! All Corrado's should have a tilt'n'slide however, they are a fickel thing and will break at some stage. The first thing to go is the slide. The traction control came on G60 and VR6 Corrados during 92 (I think). In my opinion it makes little or no difference. Its a very primitive system linked to the ABS and only works under 25mph. VW also changed some of the dash buttons (rounded slightly) and heater controls (three round switches instead of slide controls). They made a few cosmetic changes to the front as well i.e. new 3 bar grill & flush fitting fog & indicator lights. Take your time and get what you want.... Good Luck

I think your right too hot, It took me about five hours on and off over a one week period to sand the manifold. I used wet'n'dry sandpaper and elbow grease to do mine, gradually getting finer. I'd recommend getting a DIY detail sander (much easier on the nerves). I was happy enough with the finish the sandpaper gave but, one day while walking through a hardware shop I spotted a tube of aluminium polish. It comes in a tube (like toothpaste), is easy to apply and brings a real shine to the manifold. I honestly have not touched mine since last Summer and it is still fairly bright (see picture) Its a mod that costs very little and if you get fed up doing it you can just close the bonnet and drive off. :D HTH

    Oil light/bleep

My light and buzzer went off last week while going round a roundabout. When I checked it for oil level I couldn't see a spot on the dipstick. So I topped up. Thing is, I've just had it serviced at the VW garage 1800 miles ago. There is no oil leak visable underneath so I'm stumped!

I've done a few bits'n'pieces like painted the back number plate surround and messed about with the rear light cluster. I put on clear side repeaters and of course the TT wheels (which I'm not keen on now). I'm looking for a set of Azev C's eventually. Almost forgot the koni coilovers. I haven't modded the engine yet. Living in Ireland, its hard to get tunners like AMD, etc. And I haven't heard of any rolling roads in Ireland either :) .
  11. Here's a few pics of mine :)
  12. Nice to hear some good news from insurance companies :D . Good luck with it Jet 8)
  13. Hi jims corrado, I haven't heard of them but, saying as the corrado shares its handles with a few other models I'd say the plates are available.
  14. I think the 0 - 60 in a R32 is 6.2secs against the VR6 at 6.7secs. This is of course in the dry and without wheenspin. A good driver in the VR against an average driver in the R32 could make up the half second easily. The R32 put in a very respectable time arround the 'Top Gear' track, (almost 4secs quicker than the new 300+ bhp Subaru). I guess it depends a lot on how good a driver you think you are :)

    Scotts VR6

Nice one Scott 8) So that's the 'scooby hunter' 8) :) The original wheels look very well when their cleaned up.
  16. I haven't heard anything from the vw parts dept yet. He told me they would arrive this week sometime. I have the car booked in to have the alignment done next Thursday, (hope to have them before then though). I did prise out one of my strips just to have a look. I was suprised how deep the trough is in the roof  , its about 25mm deep. There is a little 'fir tree' stud at the back (just in front of the back door hinge), that holds the strip down, this prised up easily :) . The strip is made up of a combination of plastic, suede & rubber. It is just slightly oversized thus making it a snug fit. There is a 10mm strip of white tape running along the roof just below the strip (hope its not that I've ordered :x ) I'll just have to wait and see what arrives from the parts dept.
  17. Having Quentin Wilson  as a previous owner is a pretty cool endorsment for the c. Who's in the film 'Ronin'?

    LowG's ride

Yeah, the bumper looks good in dark blue. Thats my favourite colour btw. Is it aqua blue?
  21. Nice one Chris, looks great... 8)
  22. If it were me, I wouldn't worry too much about the reputation. They're all out to make money on you. In the interests of competition we have a duty to go with the cheapest quote.
  23. What did you use to stick the 'dynamat' to the bonnet? BTW how thick is the dynomat and what colour are the edges?
  24. Yeah, sorry to hear the news m8 :( . If its any consolation, my friend has a gold saxo and he likes it. :)
