sounds like it could be the wheel bearing. if not i'd be lookin at bottom arm, even the strut itself might need investigating, drop links, track rod ends? tryin to think what else? but id start with jackin it up and wigglin the wheel.

i was driven the G today and there was a slight smell of burning in the car, i was in traffic and the smell went very quickly so that was that and didnt think much else about it. it turns out that driving it later the heater blower only works on number 4 so me thinks i need a new rheostat. just wonderin if another one off a different VW will fit/work or is this specific to the rado? if so does anyone know much im lookin at for a new one? cheers si.

checked the indictors this morning, the amber shines through lovely!

when i put my foot on the brakes for example, the brake light switch is put to work this then makes a circuit and the bulb comes on amitting light which comes from the bulb through the lense. :D but on a more serious note im not sure as i pressed the predels and flicked the switches whilst the girlfriend check it for me. now im think was this wise? so not sure what there like whislt in use.

changed the back lights, cleaned, t-cut and polished the recess and give the wheels a quick clean as i had the bucket and sponge from when i cleaned the recess for the lights.

this is what i ment by checking the inner door panels first to make sure the manual ones will fit your new doors before you start drill them and find they wont go in and your window has then no support. if this is the case once your door card is off, wind the window down and see how it is fixed to your window reg, im guessing it will some type clip or bung which might need pushing through the window. once the window is free from the reg pull the window back up in to the top part of the door. drill the rivets then take the reg out. once lose you may need power to it to wind it back down so its small and then easier to take out. then unplug it. repeat in reverse to fit the new one. dont forget to use you old door cards as they will have the hole for the manual window reg to poke through to put the handle window winder handle back on. this make any sense or help you in any way??? cheers Si.

if they are riverted on then yeah the only way of getttin them off would be to drill them. i would check to make sure all the fixing points are the same or there for the manual regs your fitting on the new doors you fitting im not sure if there would be a difference due to being electric? just be careful not to elongate the holes of the doors and regs. i take it you've got a rivet gun for refitting them or are you using nuts and bolts?

yeah this does look really good, and to arrange something like this would be great but also taking plenty of time and effort! might sound a bit shallow but knowing my look i would park next to two minters making my half decent looking rado look poo! :( not so mint ones on one end then range to the mint at tother end, i'll stick mine int middle somewhere :norty:

what a jeb end! it it was a girls car then yeah you would prob get away with it but its not! diggin the rims though i have been lookin at them on ebay. and yeah its a shame that a cover car has such a s##t paint job! shame on max power!! :nono:

im in darwen, know chorley fairly well be dont really get round there chorley much. if you come over the reservoir towards "rivi" barn then turn left it takes you to that road on the pics.

BINGO!! but thats because you know where i live! drove towards bolton then up into and through belmont were i pulled over for a few pics, then back down through belmont to the m65! the road itself is pretty good but not much speed to be had due to very tight blind corners and plenty of bikes and fookin sunday drivers. get out earley enough (which i have on the bike a few times) and you can do alright :D as to the plates i got the car from cornwall and they came on the car. i like the D90's lots, but i would to change them for porsche twists at some point.

if i get more bay lookin anything like that i'd be a happy bunny! :albino: when i get space to start any serious work on mine i will be going for 2lt bottom end, big injecters, cam, inlet and outlet manifold work, lightend & balanced crank and flywheel. ive also got an eaton but not sure bout changing the ladder though. again i would be in the hope of gettin bout 250 bhp from her.

mines 1990 got full history and just short of 200k by about 500miles. the body work has quite a few car park dings, more then orginally thought but its nearly 20 years old so it aint gonna be perfect. my saxo which was a 2000'reg and the inner chasis legs were rusted to fook. as long as it runs well and dont sound like its done a million miles than i wouldnt let it put me off. like some people say it could have less miles and still break. also i would say it depends and how you drive your car, if you nail it everywere its gonna break. i guess some times you need to be lucky.

i thought it was 93/L r'reg onwards. my polo was 93/K'reg and didnt have one, passed every mot no questions asked. i know some MOT'ers so will ask some questions if you like?

i ilke it when people you buy a certian type of car care about the car enough to contact you, not to check up on it more for a general chat. i still talk to the guy i got my G40 off and that was about 6 years ago. he is from "the man" and im planning on going over at some point on the bike so he can take me round the island. he said he easily gets 160 everytime he goes out! theres no way i'll be doing that though he will prob catch me up as im about half way round!

do you not think it was a bit random that there was some guy who just happened to be passing, stopped, managed to find out who's car it was and then engaged a conversation about the car? obviously being on TV and you maybe recognising him he can afford to be that bit more cheeky about this, but what if he wasnt him and just some guy. would you have acted/done the same i.e. took him out in it. the other thing is how often must he does this? i bet he's done it loads before. has anyone seen the episode which feature "Red Victor One". that things a proper weapon!! im not tryin to put a downer on this im all up for rados gettin praise, they are deffently head turners. but just first thing that came into my heads when i read this, must be the paranoya kicking in again. :eek:

its deffently not worth scrapping. if it was me i wouldnt do the whole bodykit thing and concentrate on engine and running gear. i would rather have something that went like stink but looked more on the poo side, not that im saying rado's look poo cause they dont but you know what im getting at! the idea of a matching trailer is cool but that means you have to have a towbar on your other one which is not so cool. if you got the time and space then go for it.
