ahhh i get what you mean now, mines like part P. myabe due to it being an early one! cheers anyway.
-
sorry what do you mean by no wires? it got chopped off the loom? how much length is there left, enough to put some inline connectors on?
-
cool i'll have it, i'll Pm you tonight when i get home. is this with the plug on the end or been chopped? and the where it joins the holder is good, its defo working? sorry for the lame questions.
-
sounds good cheers. let me know how you get on. cheers Si.

i need a bulb holder for the n/s indicator. the wire has split where it enters the holder, i thought i had a spare but it appears to have gone missing! just wondering if anyone knows if a holder from another model will fit or if anyone has a spare one they want to part with? cheers Si.

wahey! got my car back! its been about 6 weeks but the guy sorting it has had a lot on and so have i so not been to rushed about getting it back. engine sorted and runs great again. new poweder coated rad support panel on, poly bushed front cross member on and golf mk3 tdi gearbox now in to replace my busted 2nd gear/syncro cant believe the difference, first and second are better than before but second now does around 70mph (which i tested but wont be doing all the time). 5th gear is also much improved by being a longer ratio. on the way to work today crusing at a comfortable 60-62mph rpm at 2k i managed to get 47.5mpg compared to what i used to get which was around 40-41mpg. good to get her back! cheers dan for the info on sorting this out.

yeah the intercooler one is sort of short and fat but the brake one is londer with the three bolt holes at the end to go onto the wheel arch liner. the guy doing it is more than competent. if i can do it the im sure he can. the power steering is on no probs so not had an issue there. its just where the brake duct goes next to the intercooler wont fit. apprantly theres about 4-5 inch difference between the gap which is left and the brake duct. i could do with seeing it really but its a bit of a treck just to nip over and check. might have to get the hack saw out and "modify" my nicely powedercoated rad panel. the only reason i can think it is different, as it came off a G60, is that it was changed for the incorrect one at some point by the guy i got it off.

he just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me. whilst getting some work done to the G ive had the rad support panl changed. the guy he has been doing the work can now not get the left hand air duct to the brake to fit. he has got the intercooler one on but not the brake duct. i cant remeber in my had from when ive had the bumpe off how this part goes back on i would need to see it. are theredifferent rad support panels are all the same. the new one i got came off a G60 also but may have been changed at some point by the ower. any one ideas. one of the problems is he's thrown the old one away as it was fooked so cant compare the two. Si. ---------- Post added at 08:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:58 PM ---------- its the passenger side one

any progress on the RHD wiper motor covers/scuttle panel? cheers Si. -
Got a new crank pulley, as the key way was a bit worn, and new crank bolt both put on, timed up, turned over by hand no probs, started up and runs bob on, no misfires, noise or any other bad things. Also had it compression tested and all cylinders are even readings! Thank fook for that, think I've been really lucky on this ocassion.

yu've got a stainless manifold? they heat will discolour the manifold anyway but i wouldnt of thought it would gl;ow red though?

the car got picked up yesterday so my mate is gonna look in to it and see how bad it is. the thing i need to know is, is the suggested replacement non strech bolt a owner suggestion or a VW recall/replacment part. as the bolt is only a few months old i thought about trying it on warrenty but if its not the right bolt for my engine then ive prob got no chance.

this has just happened to me, well friday. i was in the car park at work letting my car warm up so was only on idle and something wnet "pop" i thought it may have been a boost pipe at first by the sound had a look around the engine bay everything look ok, checked the cam belt by taking the cover off everything still there. under closer inspection the crank pulley seems to have shirred off to one side. tghere was no clattering or banging so im hoping everyting is ok. its getting picked on montuesday so will see what happens. wouldnt mid only changed the cambelt and put the new bolt in less than 3 months ago tto avoid this happening so a liltte bit annoiyed!

i thought about putting it on but its black so couldnt leave it on the see how i feel ablout it after a few days apart from that i might have to s see some others in the flesh. not sure how it would be any faster james? i guess there would be slighty different areo dynamics but cant see how that would make a huge difference?
