he liam, welcome aboard, looks all white to me! sorry couldnt resist. liking the colour coded front splitter. not really into coloured wheels but i think the suit the car fairly well!
-
you can get these parts from VW and there not expensive. can you see any coolant marks on the block i.e. rusty or pinkie looking marks from where it may have been leaking. theres also a metal pipe which goes from the flange area on the right hand side of the engine down past the front of the engine, this may have corroaded. have a look on the bottom right hand side of the rad (looking into the bay) theres a small hose which connects to another metal pipe. mines got a small leak from there but i think thats due to the cr#p fitment of the samco hose.

the whole motorway thing is shocking, there were some kids hanging fishing weights off the motorway bridges near me some time ago. its just a shame the dont realise the repacutions(spelt wrong?) that they cause from them acting like fooking idiots! on the whole egg thing, a new family moved on to my brothers street, and its not the nicest street and they arent the nicest family, anyway my brother had just spent a fair bit of time washin his XR3i convertable, finished, gone inside and job done. a lil while later the lil'sh#t kids egged his car, not just his but others to. but the egg had managed to get through inbetween the roof and drop glass going down the inside and seat and dash. he wasnt impressed! i thought it was rather funny though! a short while later the mother of said family had cleaned the windows on their house, needless to say they didnt stay clean for long!

my mate recons he saw a pink rado this morning on the M6 jct 31-32, im guessing it would of been around 8:20-8:30 am.
-
im guessing that was 3rd, 4th and 5th? if looked like it did that with ease, pretty much 140mph! hopefully mine will be going in within the next month!
-
good to know! so forgive me for being thick, theres no LSd in it or needs swapping over (not sure if the G60 box has one anyway). the only thing you got to change over is the shift tower and your good to go?
-
i have an ASD box to go in mine just havent got round to fitting it (its been nearly a year!). its also from a mk3 golf tdi. 1st and 2nd are longer, which i think in the G60 will be better than whats in it already and 5th will be better for on the motorway, hopefully getting better MPG. just for future reference, the company i work for has a scrap yard. so if any one needs anything like this let me know and i'll see what i can do. delivery isnt a prob either
-
blimey youve gone through some cars there! diggin the turbo'd supra and the mk1 looks very nice! jag seemed a bit ramdon though? i drive my G60 slow to try and keep the costs down not sure how you would get on with a supra!
-
it doesnt really look that much longer when on. i might keep an eye out for one of those types also. whats it like fitting in to the sunroof strip? is it a bit fiddley?
-
with the longer style one (im guessing 97/98 onwards passat), does it fowl the normal visors when they are down?
-
this style of visor is no good, but another passat came in to work on wednesday which had the extra sunviosr part. so pulled it off, cleaned it up and popped it on today! it does catch the mirror a bit when down though. are there different types?

M'reg green VR6 on the M6 around Jct 31 about 4:40 you were in the "fast lane" and by the time i saw you go past and thought about persuing for a mini convey, i thought cant be arsed and carried on plodding @ 60

i find that prices vary loads. i bought crank bolt and washer the other week and was £2 more expensive than waht others were paying. i nkow £2 is not a lot but its more that fact that it is different from others which annoys me. i used to have a really good relationship with a guy at my local VW deal but he moved to a different bracnk about 30 miles away. ive started using a local VW van centre to get parts from and i think the more i buy from them the better dicsount i will get. if its non specific stuff then they can get it such as bolts and various engine bits but body wise they cant get anything.
-
sticker bombing can look good IMO but to do the whole bonnet i think would be a bit much. there was a mk2 golf for sale a while back which had perspex in the bonnet so you could see into to the engine bay, which i thought looked pretty good. but to be fair the engine looked nice though

SpoonFedTuning 70mm front spoiler and rear wing group buy

looks super nice that plinth dogger, well done to you sir! -
an F'reg passat estate "non sunroof" model came in to work for scrap, so naturally the rear door handles and mechs came off! but the sunvisors have an extra piece built in, which when down go over the top of the mirror. does any one know if these will fit? the only downside is the the passenger side mirror is not illuminated.

used to call my 1st corrado "the pimp-mobile" my current one i just call it "the G" as for your car: Mystic Meg (or the alternative Septic Peg)

Hoping someone might be able to help with an Alfa V6 problem
SIMONG replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
not sure as to what the cure is but have you tried any fiat forums such as Fiat Coupe Forum? some of the stuff on GTV's and coupes are similar so it may be worth a shot there? sorry cant be of much help though. -
no you'll have to take the handle off the door to get to the white plastic screw on the end of the striker, like david says it has to be fully srcewed out to catch the mech
-
striker coiuld be on its way out? but if the door does open from the outside not sure if it may be this?

B*gger - possibly caught by mobile speed camera
SIMONG replied to Critical_Mass's topic in General Car Chat
i did something similar, again some old gimmer was driving very slow in a 30 zone so i "carefully" ovetook him as ipoulled in a bimmer pulled out from a side road and shot off infront of me. at the top of the road/hill i noticed a van at the side of the road and put thebrakes on, then the bmw noticed after me and his brakes came on. i thought i got caught for sure but i think the bmw got clocked instead of me. so you never know the other guy might of been his first concern and then you so you may not have been caught! but you can do speed awearness course if your caught by camera's ie not being pulled over. my stepmum got caught on newyears day once whilst taking my girlfriend to work as i wasnt in a fit state to drive! she got offered to do the course. so didnt get any points -
nice one cheers for the info i'll give the stealers a ring and go from there. according to my "VW parts club" book (which i didnt think to look in): cam belt kits retail at £28.50 and the parts club price is £18.35 and water pumps retail at £29 and the parts club price is £21.39 which is a lot cheaper than i thought i
-
im after a full kit rahter than just the cambelt, thanks though! gates kit on ebay for about £35, surely thats got to be cheaper and as good quality as VW?
-
gonna be getting a bit of a service done on the G and im gonna do cambelt and water pump at the same time. was gonna get a gates cam belt kit, would others recommend any thing different? also what about water pump? would you guys go for VW one or a motorfactor one? already bought a new "non stretch" crank bolt and washer for this to! cheers Si.

golf G60 intercoolers go for a lot of money though! regards to the oil cooler ive been looking at a seller on ebay called "matt lewis racing". he does kits which are mocal coolers with standard sandwich plate for £130 all in: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLF-GTI-CORRADO-16V-G60-SCIROCCO-ENGINE-OIL-COOLER-KIT-/150594984618?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2310291aaa you can change the bits and get braided hoses, thermal sandwich plate and for an extra £30. been meaning to ring them and see if they are willing to do a group buy and then see if anyone else was interested? ive been looking at these on bartek but dont think i can justify the money: http://www.bar-tek-tuning.com/lshop,showdetail,31599,en,1303758028-31646,tuning.1080551703,2160018,137,Tshowrub--tuning.1080551703,.htm
