    i though things wings were the same apart from the lines of the rolled part of the arch and difference were sweige lines are (the bit where the bump strips go) the thing thats swaying me towards the 16v one is that i already have it

    i need to change my bonnet as it is a bit poorley! at the moment it has a late bonnet ie bulge's up. but i cant decide as to which one to replace it with. i have a early 16v which bulges down but has two minor dents in it which would need a small bit of attention. or i have found a later bonnet with the bulge but is gonna be £50 either way they would both need spraying. i cant decide what to do, put the one on ive got which is already payed for or buy another bonnet . mainly i cant dedecide which style to go for?
  3. i had a similar prob with my indicator, it was the wire whcih goes into the the connector had snapped just as in joined the connector
  4. got round to fixing my exhaust, its been blowing for months! was bit of a pain adjusting it back up again but seems to be all good now!

    out of interest, if you where doin around 60mph on the motorway in 6th what sort of mpg would you get?

    yeah i thoght about a 1999/2000 year so it would be in the cheaper tax range. @ Portent. is that for a year? according to autotrader its a tax group "M" and then on direct.gov it gives price range's for tax an it says anything registered after 1 april 2001 in tax range "M" is £460 a year

    yeah i woyuld look to lower a bit anyway, good spec car and you get a lot for your money, ubt £460 on road tax! no no thanks! that has put me right off, that more then my insurance im paying on the G.

  10. was thinking with that extra power it may have took you some where you didnt mean to go! sorry the stuff ive got is all early and the last time i helped a forum member out i still have'nt got the bits back that i asked for, im after a late bonnet my self. theres a guy on another forum i go on who i think has got this stuff but he wanted £80 for bonnet which i thought was a little steep. think he wants £400 for the rolling shell but not to sure as to what it would come with,

  13. a 106 would weigh somewere between 860-980 kilos depending on model. at the moment we (the company i work for) are paying £150 (this can change regular) per tonne so you would get roughly £129-£147. this is if you take it in yourself. take your full log book there are lots of people out there who will come and take the car off you and give you some cash, how much would depend on them so its worth ringing a few. scrapyards may come and collect it to so you need to weigh up whats best for you? is the hassle of taking it in i.e. time and effort, worth it against someone coming and collecting it and paying you less for it. if you take it in your self then you know its getting scrapped and you will get a Certificate Of Destruction or "COD" which is your proof its been scrapped. if some one comes and collects it theres always a chance that this might not happen but if you get the yellow part of the V5 stamped/filled out then your covered and you should be ok, i would make sure i got all the details of the person collecting it, waste carriers licence number would prob be the best details to get of them as this has to registered with the EA. that any help
  14. throughout last week: cambelt & tensioner (OEM) crank pulley (non-stretch) bolt and washer (OEM) stupid frickin blankin plate seal on side of block behind cambelt waterpump (OEM) thermostat and housing (OEM) coolant flange on p/s of block (OEM) heater matrix coolant pipes changed for samco's coolant oil & filter G40 spark plugs & MOT
  15. yeah got some sealant stuff that goes off but doesnt go hard if you will, cant remember whats it called though. its gonna get some of that at the same time.
  16. well it wasnt in the conversiokn kit and didnt have the right size to make an o ring. managed to get a 63.5mm O-ring which looks like its gonna do the job
  17. i rang everywhere trying to get this butno joy! so ive ordered a conversion kit also know as a block sealing kit, hopefully its gonna have it in the. but i found out at about 5pm today that my work have a "O" ring making kit in the maintenance department so if worse comes to worse i can make one to suit!
  18. really struggling here and wondering if anyone can help. on my G60, PG block, on the block itself on the cambelt side the is a rectangular shaped blanking plate behind the cambelt which bolts to the block with four bolts. there is an oval shaped "O" ring which goes between the plate and the block. i need the seal!!! discountined at the dealers. can anybody help me out please!

  20. agreed with the whole kit thing. but ive seen worse kits! interior looks well though, kinda diggin the speaker grills! there looks like a good few bits which are worth a bit of dough on it though!

    yeah just bolt on and off, mine has also sprung a leak! theres always something with a rado! think its the water pump, got all the bits though and geting sorted on monday!
  22. looking at the block it goes from the p/s to the d/s. what condition is it in? i.e. surface rust? new ones are only £27 so i may have to go for that as i could do with it for monday.

    yeah also phoned about the lower rad hose today and was told it was discontinued. if its the one which goes between the metal hose and the water pump its only a short straight length of hose about 2 inch long im sure you could get this from a motor factors.
