  2. G60

    Hi

did it come with cupholders for your martinis then??
  3. hell ya! i like this one better
  4. G60 swap. sorry had to. :D know of a good shop? i used to work at the stealers and still never got a go at the VAG COM, they're pretty tight with those where i was. you can buy aftermarket ones for a fraction of what VW charges for a real one, but they are still pricey.
  5. 18mm or about 3/4" ID if you need it. get a couple of 3/4" elbom copper pipe fittings from plumbing/hardware store soldered together making a U. gonna rig it up after work. fuggin car wreaks of antifreeze. dripping out the bottom of the dash i noticed. :x :x :x pulled car over, waited, relieved pressure, added water to 'low' mark (less pressure) continued to work. just need to make it back home now, about 2 or 3km. temps won't get high enough to get it leaking again. i hope.
  6. anyone know? its pretty urgent.. core blew and i need to bypass it with a u-bend where the hoses attatch to the firewall before i leave to go up north after work!! augh...
  7. its available. they take a long time to get back to you. was about 475 euro when i checked + ship/tax.
  8. mine does it. its cuz the cat is gutted. no worries. do it in pitch darkness with a friend following, good for a laugh.
  9. it doesn't have a t3/t4 turbo fitted yet. slap one of those on, you're sorted. :D
  10. hmm maybe 1 minute, possible a minute 30 if he's slow with a screwdriver. after that many miles, if i were you, upon getting the car i would take the charger off and ship it straight to kompressor kanada. "This is one highly modded Corrado" "68mm Pulley" "SNS 5-2" all that stuff says this car has been put through the paces... and the charger is supposed to be rebuilt every 45,000 miles, this guy has never done it and it now over double the service interval!! if you get this car rebuild the charger right away, who knows when it could go?? ..it looks like all this guy did to service it was get a BBM wide cog belt  ask him how much boost its putting out. with a 68mm pulley and stock head it should be at least 15-16psi @ 6000rpm if its healthy, and even then, a bearing could go at any time after 94,500 'highly modded' miles.
  11. haha, no idea. came on the car. must be very restrictive. going to get a shop to bend me a pipe that goes down through the carbon cannister hole and into the stream of air. could possibly get a small psi increase from having the filter in the direct path of air, that would be nice, but i want the coldest intake temps possible. apparently having the air filter in the direct path of air, if setup correctly, will negate the vaccum effect on the intake side of the charger so that the charger is not working to suck in air, its being somewhat rammed in so there and the charger will have as much as it needs.. hopefully a little more cfm into the engine and less resistance for the charger. :) EDIT: 480km down, had it up to 3500rpm now. 20km to go. now just waiting for the rsr outlet to show up.
  12. even with its appearance flaws its a joy to walk up to and get in. turn the key and cha-brooom, starts up right away like butter. fresh charger pulling 11psi @ 3000rpm. everyone on the road tries to pull past me revin their civics and mazda B2200s and talons to redline like jackasses... the ones i choose to put to shame, i do. :D and at the end of a hard day it feels so good to just cruise in the rado.
  13. i'm sick of all the bickering between G60 and VR owners so i skipped the past page or so. anyone with a VR who wants to compare bring it over here and lets find some twisty roads. sure a VR is faster in a straight line, but the speed limits over here are 100km/h and 65m/h in the states. i have all the high-speed pull i need, its the low end and the performance through the twisties that makes the G60 shine. i drove around hamilton with a guy on a crotch rocket last night, keep in mind i'm still in the 3000rpm or less charger break in. he was opening it up, charging hard through corners leanin it right over, all the while i was right with em up to 115km/h where i ran out of rpm. not saying a VR wouldn't be, but man, what a fuggin rush a quick G60 is to drive... even below 3000rpm. lowG: that dude you replied to about how much a rebuild costs said in his previous post "I'm in the US, so gear comments accordingly please". sure you can find a great deal on a g-lader and a rebuild over in the UK and the rest of europe. not quite the case over here, everything is more expensive here for these cars, including charger rebuilds.
  14. pics i took today at lunch some in progress pics of my bumper for darren. front license plate holes shaved, north american side markers shaved, turn signal holes grinded out.
  15. i dunno lowG... i paid 3 times what you said a rebuild would be and i went to the cheapest place on the continent. (also the best :thumb right: ) just rebuild with no porting would be twice as much as you said at least. but i'd port it if you've got the cash, i get almost the same psi at half the rpm as before (11psi@3000rpm vs. 12psi@6000rpm before porting).
  16. i like that pic. just depends on what you're going for, sport or elegance. that pic is totally sport, whereas full tan or full black is more elegance. depends entirely on personal taste. i still haven't decided what i'm going to do with mine yet... good thing its a couple years off i'm sure!! :?
  17. you have a sort of 'off' colour that i really like. its a hard call because the right colour of leather could totally make the car, but the wrong colour and it could look, like you said, like :pukeright: i don't really like the multi-tone leather treatment with a few bits on the seat a different colour or the piping a different colour. i think it looks cheap.. amateurish.. your car has more of an elegant appeal.. the rims, the tints, that colour... i think that you should go with a solid colour of leather than compliments the paint and don't go too overboard with multi-colour trim and other fancy shit. the way i look at corrados is.. they speak for themselves. you don't need to do all kinda of fancy ass shit to make them look nice, they already do look nice.. just refine that and make it really clean and tight.
  18. i'd just stick a K&N panel filter in the stock box and run cold air to it through the carbon cannister hole... after you move or delete the carbon cannister. not worth the money for an aftermarket 'induction kit' imho... even with a heat shield it sucks in hot air from the engine bay.
  19. i'd do full tan or full black. i dont like the hodge podge mix match shiz. thats just me.
  20. had a wee accident. smashed windshield fixed, roadtrip for a used NON-BULGE hood behind me... and i'm rollin in the C again. took it out for about 130km last night. 11psi@3000rpm in 4th, not at WOT. i only have about 230km on the car since the charger rebuild... if i didn't spend every free moment working on it i'm sure it'd be over the 500km marker by now! it's not easy staying under 3000rpm in second. i'm going to snap some pics soon... engine bay, exterior... you guys can get a good laugh at my two-tone corrado. the hood is just a shade darker than the rest of the car. its ok tho... not too noticable since the from bumper cover and grill are also still missing
  21. if you've got the cash go for a supercharger kit on that VR, i'm sure you won't be disappointed. sure bimmer's are nice, and M3s are nicer and a bit rare.. but i see 50 bimmers a week.. ive only seen about 6 or 7 corrados in my area ever. can't remember if i posted to this thread. i'll be 22 in september, bought my G60 for my 20th birthday. :)
  22. i like the euro spec corrado headlights or the rallye golf headlights. for taillights, in pros look ok on the right colour of car. i personally haven't found taillights that i feel are 'spot on' so i haven't bought any. picked up a set of stock tails for $10 US on friday, just need to decide whether to paint the orange bit black or red and they're goin on. 8)
  23. "US cars have crap headlights" that's a safety issue!! they ssssuuuuck! :x in canada we have regular seatbelts or 'euro' as some people call them since the 'euro' corrados had regular seatbelts.. we also have the shelves instead of those dumbass kneebars.
  24. i'll be brief since you have a lot of problems. 1 ) fix it. 2 ) fix it. 3 ) replace. 4 ) mechanic. 5 ) see #4.. or just put some rubber pads behind them or that goldish brake poop. probably the pad vibrating on the caliper 6 ) check all your grounds, esp the main batt ground 7 ) tune up. 8 ) good luck. 9 ) replace.. upgrade to VR unit (if possible.. is on G60s) if you've got cash and want the best service talk to darren and john at PD motorsport. cheers.
  25. put a turbo on that valver and i wouldnt think its slow!! :)
