man, everytime i hear about another happy sns customer i get butterflies in my stomach.. i can't fuggin wait!!! :D glad to hear you've sorted it.
-
and what do you do to set it up to handle more? say... 1.25 or 1.5bar?

thats why i said.. "and of course the fun bit.. making the intake manifold". make it to fit..or... you can move the alternator. i'm going to try to make the manifold to fit. thinkin 16v manifold (whats the largest port diameter one you can get 50mm?) hacked with straight pipes welded on. compact, not too much extra wasted airspace, and it'd be the shortest path possible.. that i can think of. quick boost! :D
-
haha, yessir! thats happening v soon! ..i need to give dave at kk a call. this is a 'find parts over the summer when the weather is nice.. tinker with it when the snow flies' kind of project. i'm hoping to do the crossflow over this coming winter.. unless something else gets my interest in the meantime! ..i was hardcore about a 16vG60 up until a couple days ago! i'm happy with the power.. its that extra little oomph i'm lookin for.

ah.. thus the reason why the mechanics at the stealer don't think they can read faults on my car, even when i keep saying they can. they think its digi2. thanks joe.
-
so i'm helping my friend setup his girlfriend's 92 jetta... digifant 2, and i notice that the digi2 book i have is dated back to 1988 golf/jetta and on. so then.. why does the 1990 corrado have digi1? i had always assumed that digi2 replaced digi1 but added some shite that wasn't really necessary and that is why G60 guys prefer digi1 (and thanks to sns ). but now i'm thinking that digi1 and digi2 existed together, and were just two different setups for different applications.. ie: one is naturally aspirated, one is blown. so then... what other cars use digi1? whats the deal, really? cuz i'm just spewin this out my ass. :? :D

right on lowG, crossflow of course.. you're the one that sold me on it! good to hear darren. and i KNOW, that manifold is brutal!! to their credit, it looks a lot better in the car: http://www.momentumtuning.com/images/motor.jpg

so i've been thinking i'd work towards a 16vG60 conversion, but this just seems so much more easily attainable.. and i know lowG is with me on this one!! get an obd1 crossflow head off of a 92-95 golf/jetta 2L (north america only?), stack 2 gaskets and stick it on the PG block. 30# injectors, cam, chip.. and of course the fun bit.. making the intake manifold. hoping 240-250hp with 3.5bar fpr, sns chip, 65mm pulley on ported charger w/ outlet.. and a really short intake system=quick boost. head porting is key, obviously, and with a whole lot more work and money put in this setup could give 280-300hp.. which really is enough for me. for now. anyone tried this, or have any info, pics or specs? here's a link: http://www.momentumtuning.com/projectca ... owG60.html it seems a lot more reasonable to me than a 16vG60 conversion.
-
..or is it the rims?? what are the specs?
-
lookin good darren! what spacers are you using on your wheels?? just noticed how wide the stance is.. :thumbleft: haha ant! you better hope the kiddie sensor doesn't blast you for that pic! nice.
-
dont need a rear # plate over there then? i love that look, but i need a plate so i'm moving it to the bumper.
-
fair enough. the paint on the front spoiler would get chipped and scratched all to shit anyway. i'm just personally a big fan of colour-keyed everything
-
ant you ass. that looks too nice! :x  just need a colour-keyed 90mm front or a bumper to bring the front end down. lookin like a very fine banana.
-
ahh! its french!! avoid it like the plague, it will rust apart before it makes it on the car!! i dunno man, never heard of any of that. :?
-
good to know that its over-optimistic and not under-stating when i scorch past the coppers  i won't be doing long stints at 150mph haha! goin for W rated. good enough for me, its still a higher rating than original spec.

don't bother with bbm unless you're made of money. too pricey and their customer service is less than personable. they specialize more in the G60 anyway. as far as induction kits go.. do yourself a favour and fit something that doesn't suck in hot engine air. the throaty sound of an open cone filter is pretty and all, but when it sucks in hot engine air, its only going to decrease the car's power. a lot of G60 guys run their cone filters down through the hole where the carbon cannister used to be (after you move the cannister) and into the cold air coming into the front of the car. not quite a 'ram-air system', but this works quite well, not sure if thats the VR way though. a lot of times, a K&N panel filter in the stock airbox with some modifications to get some cold air rammed in there is the best way. good luck.

nothing like that. if i'm going to push the car's limits, i want the tyres to be up to snuff. better safe than sorry. 8)
-
who said the car is standard? far from it and after the rebuild brings 18psi and the 0.717 5th raises my top speed a fair bit.. well, i'm agreeing with jim here. W is minimum imho. :thumbleft:

nice ride :) hey tom, maybe you should resize your screen to a size more friendly for us. they fit on my screen fine

oh! ..i messed my pants such a sweeeet car. they showed that thing in japan in '97 if i remember correctly... why isn't it in production yet dammit!?

good point andi. after working at the stealership i learnt how to tell how much a person cares for their car.. the tyres. when you see Z-rated rubber, the car is always well cared for and usually v nice. when you see cheap shit like kumho's or whatever, the car is usually trashed and hacked. i've come to look for the 'Z' on the tire as a mark of a well-cared-for vehicle. but, you guys are right, unless you're goin nuts, 'W's should be fine for most people and i'm leaning towards them now.
