  1. looks great. the filled license plate recess and front wings come stock just like you have them on canadian cars. we have no number plate recess and the side markers are in the bumper (i shaved those though..and i have euro side repeaters in the euro location).
  2. thats exactly what i thought when i first saw those pics a while back!! lol
  3. looks nice... but that thin edge of metal always looks cheap or unfinished to me on these rolled fendered corrados. if possible.. you should get them to keep part of the little metal 'lip' on the edge of the arch so they look a little more robust. i think what is involved is shaping the metal that is already there, and then respraying, like you said.

    not sparking on all 4

could be plugs, leads, injectors, bad injector harness.. could be anything. off-topic.. (don't read if you're in a hurry) my friend has a 240sx.. about a month and a half ago the engine starts making this awful rattling and grinding noise. i say don't drive it, find out what the problem is first. and he continues to drive it. and it starts running on 3 cylinders about 2 weeks ago. so i say you're dumb i'm going to find out what that noise is i bet now you've blown a cylinder. i could tell the noise was from under the valve cover so i took it off and wow, chunk of metal. timing chain guide had busted loose and was rubbing/bouncing off the timing chain! so i pull this metal piece out hand it to him and say now you've probably blown your engine because you didnt want to take 5 minutes to take off your valve cover. at this point i'm pretty sure this chain guide has caused the timing chains to jump a tooth or two, resulting in a blown cylinder. my buddy tends to enjoy pissing money away so he took it into the stealership before i could test spart plugs/injectors... turns out the stealership found that all that had gone wrong was the #4 injector. completely unrelated to the metal chunk. new injector and he'll be back in business. moral of the story. it could be anything. just dig in... process of elimination and figure out what is failing. if you're not so mechanically inclined take it to a shop and have them figure it out... but then replace the part (injector/spark plug/anything simple) yourself so you only pay the diagnostic fee. his bill was $280, and he still owes $220 for the injector replacement ($500 total). that included an oil change and diagnostic but i mean.. the injector can't be more than $80-100. he could have done it all himself in an afternoon. hell, couple beers and a puff and i'd have done it for him

    mot failure ??

over here the signal can be white, amber, or red... all legal. just cant be anything weird like blue or green. over there tho.. i'm pretty sure they MUST be amber. if they pass you and they are not amber... i think its down to luck.
  6. don't like that last one... looks like an old eclipse/talon to me.

    4x100 et40 ?

how wide can a spacer be before it starts to accelerate wheel bearing wear beyond a reasonable level? i will be in the market for new rims eventually and i planned to aim for something that would be just about right, but maybe not quite as wide as i want so i can play with spacers to bring the wheels out to where they should be. imo, the 'A20 LEE' car has the perfect 17"s for stock wheel wells: RH Cuprader EVO's 8.5x17, 32mm offset with 205/40/17 Toyo T1-S.
  8. well daz/gwerks and pitstop are doing them. i doubt there is a company who makes VR6 toothed systems... and you mentioned custom anyway so there would be extra work involved. i'd talk with daz and pitstop and see about getting a kit made up. if its for a standard VR/vortech setup there might already be a kit now that i think of it... but if not... your kit could be the start to a readily-available toothed drive VR/vortech kit just like the G60 kit is for us G60 guys.

    17" alloys rubbing

every job is a DIY on a corrado IMO  dig in!

    17" alloys rubbing

car is lowered? i would say arch mods (plastic liners) to start... and if they doesnt help it i might consider mods to the metalwork itself, although you shouldnt have to with a proper size/offset 17", unless the car is really low.
  11. i think they should have gone with the all red like the third pic... but with the shape of the orange/red lights they ended up using.. ah well can't get everything right.

    g-werks project....

    ^ that's what i mean... they always look crooked/saggy. :?
  13. if you like the sound, go for it. personally i think the sound is awful... its not really a performance upgrade.. more of a replacement charger that is 'as good' as the g-lader. one big benefit it has is it can be reved much higher than a g-lader so if the engine can handle it, you can rev to 7000+rpm... great on a 16v or 20v high rever.
  14. hope you don't mind..did a quick chop.
  15. nigel. good man. only thing i'd worry about then is fire... those mice might try to chew through the wires..could a small bulb blow and spark?.......i wonder how safe that is.
  16. thanks for all the input! :D brakes: yep, i always chock the wheels.. and leave the car in second. no e-brakes. tires: didn't think about flat spots.. so i will probably jack the car, support it... and take off all four wheels. probably take off all the brake components as well. brakes need refresh anyway. starting/idling: i did this last winter about every 2 months... so only 3 times over the whole winter i think. car started first time every time and idled like a dream even in -20C. no battery boosting, nothing. since i have things apart, starting the car is not an option this time around so i don't need to worry about this. wax/paintwork: full tear down/respray to come. not concerned with paint.. PO had a half-ass colour change done that i need to make right :x covering: Boarder.. you say do not use a cover... any reason specifically? moisture buildup? CRITTERS: this is my big concern. when i stored the rado last winter.. no problems at all. no mice or anything. but now... in the past couple weeks i've noticed mouse crap in my XR and my friend's Tempest that are both parked OUTSIDE the shed and also i have found mice inside the tractor which sits 5 feet from where the corrado (corradoS heh heh heh) will be sitting. this makes me worry a little.. i think the mice have moved in on the shed a little more this year. solutions to the mice problem... 1) going to put a tarp under the car... then some tight-knit wire meshing... and then another tarp. wrap this up around the sides of the car so the entire bottom is covered. i also planned to cover the top, but if this is a bad idea i'll just to the bottom. 2) thinking about getting a few stray cats and leaving em out there. they'll probably die out there in the cold, but the pound just puts them all to sleep anyway...... too many cats not enough homes. 3) mouse traps all around the car. moth balls all around the car.. apparently animals don't like the smell. of course i'll be out there checking up on things frequently and intervening if something is amiss. i'm hoping to have a sealed, concrete-floored storage shed starting next summer... so just need to make it through this winter.... this is how it looked last year:
  17. could be another problem altogether... did the oil cooler help at all??

    g60/vr6 front bumper

another canadian... and he hates honduhs as much as me! :D there is a post somewhere on here... someone put late lights in the early bumper with some modification to the brackets i believe. i was just reading that post the other day but i don't know where it is off hand. welcome to the forum.

    Tricky Throttle

listen carefully:  those of you with sticky/stiff throttle response... it IS the cable. its a $30 cdn part (over here anyway) and makes the throttle feel like butter. very easy to swap out, cheap part.. makes the car feel completely different. do it!! don't wd40 it or anything daft. replace it. then go for a drive. then come on here and post about how well it worked. trust me. :thumb right:
  20. ya what he said. if you go too extreme the cam will let the boost blow right out the exhaust. a 268 is just right and has a reasonable idle.
  21. good idea furki. i dont like mold at all.
  22. why ruin? its a straight swap is it not? you could always swap the old 16v back in but i doubt after you have the 20vt in there that you'd want to do that. jim's right tho.. if you have the cash for an old beater corrado might want to bring it back to life with the TT engine.

    autox car

they kicked you out because the truth hurts!!
  24. nice one... i'll do that. maybe leave the sunroof open a crack too. not too concerned with the interior to be honest... i'll probably take half of it out of the car before i store it... i doubt i'll drive it again before some serious work has been done. anyone else?
