I sort of know the area around there, the reservoirs north of there are very nice and some decnet drives, although it is a lot of smaller country roads around the reservoirs(thinking stonechips lol) definetly a contender though for me. what does everyone else think? Welcome aboard Baz, your on the list! :)

Your right sean it is the little bits that make a difference. i'm planning to do myu pedals soon to lol. Is there no way of cleaning the connections up on the ABS unit? even just as a temporary measure?

Well the time is approaching for the chains on my golf to be done, its presently on 97.5k and ideally i want to do them on 'this' side of 100k. I'm have'nt done timing chains before although i've done plenty of timing belts etc lol. can anyone point me in the direction of a guide/hints/tips etc. fairly happy doing them just want to know if theres any bits to watch out for, other bits worth doing at the same time etc. Also do i need to remove the gearbox? looking at where the chain is it looks like you would have to? any answer would be great. Cheers Tom

Thanks for clearing that one could have been an interesting mistake lol.

sadly when i bought mine it was knackered anyway, does'nt work on any setting cables very very stiff so will be paying the local scrapyard a visit soon lol

unsure on this one as i am mulling it over myself. presently have a colour coded corrado badge and a black vr6 and vw badge. thinking i will have the lot colour coded personally. Tom

I have noticed my 24v is better on long journeys than the vr golf, but the 24v is more thirsty around town, but equally feels'raring to go' alot more than the vr. Best fuel economy out of the golf vr however was 37mpg@approx 55mph. Always thought the later v6's had better fuel economy?

Corrado's have always suffered higher insurance(last year my insurance company wanted to same as my golf vr to insure my old corrado valver... that was limited mileage and garaged, go figure! lol. Glad you went for it dude! you won't regret it. Tom

1989 is pretty early for a corrado, but the earlier cars are imo prettier than later models. the car sounds fairly well looked after and original, if everything as you say works then go for it. they are brilliant fun to drive, 16v if well tuned is pretty good on fuel and can be modded pretty easily for more power if thats your thing. I've had 2 valvers and they were both fantastic! :) p.s early valvers with original alloys are rare too! p.p.s any pics? Tom

ah you may well be right, i'm just going off pics i've seen of the interior, certainly look very similar though. Be good if they were though, think i'd plump for a cd box over a tape box personally.

Yeah see i see a picture like that and it gets me thinking, it does look good on the 5 spokes, but i have always had a soft spot for bbs. decisions, decisions.

wow that wiring is admirable! wish mine was half as good lol. Fantastic car, love reading threads like yours, really shows how a car has evolved and the thought thats gone into making it what it is. excellent stuff! Tom

I'm sure in the instruction manuals theres a pic of a cd box? Surely if one was produced for the passat it would fit the corrado?

Just was'nt what i was expecting when i typed in r32 golf on ebay lol. i don't understand why not make it look like a mk4 r32 rep rather than a mk5, at least they share the same body?
