  1. Just spotted about 20 mins ago near elland road r/a, they joined the motorway, I headed on to vw (again), I gave them a thumbs up :) M229 (I think) One of the purples, VR6, Pistonheads sticker in the window.
  2. The ejector seat handle (height adjuster...) has a perfect space to store a 500ml bottle wedged in between the lever and floor (or seat... can't remember which) Pretty handy.
  3. To be fair on the RAC guy he did admit liability for the damage, in situations where a recovery is required I'm inclined to ask for a demountable bed (mainly because mines loooow), but it also means undue stress from the car's weight isn't being transferred through the rear axle. (Spec lifts and trailer dollies are only meant to be used for a certain distance for a reason!) But as above it does looks like it could be polished out so might be worth having a chat with a valeter, at least then they can give you a second reference to take to the RAC's care/customer relations team.
  4. Do they not have any the right size? £10 is for 4 as well,
  5. Thought about a mk2 focus derv? Zetecs can be well specc'd, heated front screens etc.
  6. Looks like it could be a nice little bargain! Is that an early wheel though?
  7. DMB graphics would be able to do a gel overlay sticker for you? Might be the quickest and most efficient options.
  8. Supermarkets are classed as public access until they are barriered at night. Valid insurance should still be kept on the land. Private Land, is where there is a barrier preventing access (to both vehicles and people) and no insurance, mot or tax is required while on that land. Private roads are another different kettle of fish altogether though. Because afaik there's no need to have insurance mot or tax, but you could still be done over driving on a private road if there's open access to a public road, for intent to drive without valid documents etc. It hurts the head.

    Battery tray swap

7 has basic emulation built in, you can set an item to run in anything upwards from an nt4 environment without vmware usually... worth a shot first

    Battery tray swap

right click, properties, run as windows xp/95 whatever usually helps with older software, especially if you're running 64bit windows.
  11. Speak to the third party claims team at her insurance, if they accept liability it won't affect your no claims.
  12. But under the data protection act you could surely request all information and footage pertaining to yourself and your property?
  13. lodge a claim. If her vehicle has caused the damage (regardless of if it was the passenger) it's still their vehicle, they have insurance for that reason!
  14. the vr looks nicer, but I'm a valver man!
  15. Oh jeez :( Sorry to hear about that mate :( I know how devastating it can be for your car to be hit like that and for someone to do a runner, hope someone owns up!
  16. I liked my Focus when I had it... I agree with the electrical demon issues. Mine has a badly installed 3rd party alarm, badly installed retrofit electric windows, and a badly installed audio setup. Paid a grand, probably spend triple that, and still not even started on the electrical gremlins... thinking with the heart is expensive.
  17. Considering you've owned an older ford, you'd be surprised how resilliant these cars are to rust. I've owned a couple of Ford's and quite considered a Capri (albeit not a lovely mint 2.8i), the only real rusty let down is around the petrol filler cap, and even this seems to be bad luck if you end up with it. My new local garage had an S2 RST in, that was having a lot of welding. My '90 G Reg Valver, hasn't had any. Have a poke round the members galleries for some ideas for what you can do with the VR6.
  18. Pininfarina built (iirc) for a sheikh or something, or the Sultan of Brunei perhaps...
  19. last quote I got from our locksmith at work was for a mk2 golf was £140, but iirc that was in the greater london area. If it's any help I can get you their number and they can get a quote from a local auto locksmith?
  20. Never mind good hands, seems like it's in very skilled hands!
  21. I'm glad it's not only me who was looking at doing thing I was considering using ultrabright smd's for both fogs and indicators, was going to throw up some 3d model ideas though for layout, but I've not been able to measure the space up yet, if anyone currently has a size mask or something lemme know! The amount of time we use front fogs, I'm not sure it's a massive loss if they don't have the same overall light intesnity.
  22. Pfffh, no match for my corrado.... (on forza) Reminds me of the Police Lotus Carlton era
  23. Bit of a silly idea to save costs... Force all the f1 engine manufacturers to spend millions to develop i4 turbo's. Ferrari are leading the brigade against the fia iirc. New rules are strangling motorsport, look at the old btcc days, mini's, volvo's, etc.
  24. Early focus diesels are TDDI 90hp, Not a massive amount of problems spring to light with them, they're an updated Lynx series diesel engine and have been around since the mk1 mondeo's. Only issues they really have is rear suspension bushes (don't we all know that pain) and it's worth checking the condition of the front lower arms as these can end up rusty on older models. Bodywork is usually the least of any issues as they are pretty darn strong. Only flaw is the wing mirrors rub through a patch of paint on the top of the doors but it's easily rectified with a file and some touch up paint. Try and get a hold of a facelifed TDCI, 115hp, and you get more power and same reliability. My engine in my focus seemed to be bombproof, did 24k in a year in it, got good mpg out of it and was easily moddable. Can get a 2litre TDCi engine in the later focus', more toys in the ghia, and all the shitty walnut trim is easily swappable.
  25. ICV? Potentially Map/Maf issue? Temp Stat? Anything which the car pulls it's cold start readings from? Can rule out stuff like the lambda and so on though, as these are only used for the warm readings,
