I remember my old man owning a MkI Opel Kadett GTE (rare German built 5 door model) from new. It was a good quick car in it's day and, like the MkI Golf, I prefer the original boxy shape. Looking back though I wish he'd have bought a MkI Golf GTI instead, and kept it!

Cheers Mike 'tis saving now 8) , I'm still on poxy wind up tho so it'll take 2 1/2 HOURS to download.. :morning:

Been looking for this clip for ages, but I'm getting the page cannot be displayed here, is anyone else having probs? :?

Could be the oil filler cap. The rubber sealing may have had its day, but its less than a fiver for a new cap. This is what happened on mine, just check for oil weeping around the filler area.
-
Seconded, they are exactly the same dude

If club members don't send articles to the editor, how is he going to be able to fill the magazine? I put my hands up and admit I have not contributed to it, but I personally feel my car is a long way off a feature in it. I agree with Crazymarcel though regarding the financial situation. There must be a fair bit of money swilling around in the CCGB coffers now, so what is being done with it all to benefit its members?

Car is an M reg but it says on the description it was registered on 22 Aug 1995. So surely it should be an N reg? Unless seller has somehow typed in the wrong month :?

Haven't bought PVW, The Golf, Golf Extreme etc for at least 5 years, they just got too cheesy and repetetive, but what do you expect with names like that? Don't see them on the shelves round here anymore so they must have reached their saturation point. I prefer to read what I see on here, and maybe buy the odd copy of VWM or VW Driver.

Saw a burgundy M plate VR6 at 3.15pm today on Ledbury Rd in Hereford.

Wonder what his reserve was......

He he good thinking Rodders! 8) Did they mention what they are featuring on that particular show? I read on Volkswizard that Top Gear are doing a feature on all 5 generations of Golf GTI, or is that just for the magazine?
-
Do you know if VW would send you anything written down to verify this, being as there is nothing on the V5? Be nice to have some sort of official document from them, something which should have been done when new really IMO, might have stopped a fair bit of the fakery

Unfortunately not

I cannot seem to open this file. I'm using Quicktime 6.5.1. Is there another program I can use or do I need to download any codecs ? Got DivX 5.11, Media Player 10, RealOne Player ... same here :? nice website though 8) thanks for the Macys ad Dinkus, strange how the white C has dark wing mirrors though
-
Ah yes Rodders, is that the old geezer with the red C being interviewed in his garage??Think I know the one you mean, aint got a copy though...

Hmmm well I'd sort of agree there too, I have owned mine for almost one year and * touch wood *, it has been reliability personified with absolutely no problems, it passed it's MOT in July no bother, the full service charge was minimal and on the rolling road at Stealth this summer, it was bang on 191bhp so I'm well chuffed! I'd agree about the build quality though, I've had both an H reg Golf 16v and a J reg Golf 8v and both did seem much better built, having that legendary late 80's Wolfsburg build quality about them. However, comparing like for like, (ie Karmann built) I had an '88 Scirocco GTX and the dash switches, heater controls, door handles etc seemed much more solid than on the Corrado. The fuel economy was obviously better in the fuel injected 1.8 Scirocco engine, sometimes I'd get 44mpg on a good run however, I have had 38mpg on a careful run in the C although on average it's 28mpg which is pretty good for car of almost 3 litres! The delivery of the power in VR6 guise certainly makes up for it though, I mean 0-60 in 6.4 secs and a top speed of 145+mph plus THAT in gear noise?! What more do you need?! :D

Who cares what the format is. Let's get every C feature we can together, for the benefit of the forum, it'd be pretty cool :D What's the original C ad Dinkus?
-
Ok guys, I'm looking for as many programmes or even adverts! of the Corrado on TV as I can get (and I'm sure you'd all like to see 'em too) So, even though I have watched most of them, the only one I recorded was the Nov' 2003 Top Gear feature but I am desperately looking for the following: *Top Gear edition featuring, amongst other things, a C Storm being driven back to Germany? *The 'Driven' and 'Wheeler Dealer' (or both) show which featured Mike Brewer singing the Corrados' praises? The above is only what I vaguely remember so * if anyone can add to the list, or correct me,* it'd be much appreciated. If any peeps have a copy of these, would it be possible to link them all together and make a chronological copy? Cheers Dave

Let's dredge this one up again. Does ANYONE have a copy of this programme? PMs to DaveStorm very much appreciated, thanks 8)

Pauls' black C is an absolute fackin minter, they really couldn't have chosen a better example, here's looking forward to the show, it'll do us proud... 8)

I'd be inclined to agree, sounds way too cheap, especially with that mileage and air con too... :?
