Clocked up a few miles this weekend and have noticed a strange sound coming from somewhere near the front of the car I *think*, had the window and sunroof wide open so heard it quite clearly. It started like a rotating metallic squealing sound at low speed and would then disappear as I went faster. Now after travelling 400 odd miles it is quite audible at 60+mph and is even louder at low speed. Strange thing is, it only happens when travelling in a straight line. Turning left or right round corners it stops. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Saw a couple over the weekend. First one was a dark K reg G60 or VR6 (couldn't quite see what the red grille badge said) seen on Friday 28th May at 11.30 am, I was heading to Worcester, you were going towards Hereford. Next one was a dark green modded H reg making a lot of noise (maybe a G60? you had no grille badge), which was following me through Lincoln City centre at 2.15pm on the same day. Lastly saw a dark Corrado on the M5 North between Junctions 5 and 6 at 4.15pm today, couldn't make out the reg number though.

Mmmmm Stealths project Corrado from a few years back IIRC, anyone know if this beast is still around? :-P :?:
-
Christ that sounds amazing, it's sounds like the beast is gonna take off!! :evilbat:

Hmmh, the link above still works but it appears they have removed the info on the VR6 springs, can't find them anywhere else on their website now either! :x Dammit, knew I should have rung them sooner.......so the search for H and Rs continue, unless someone here knows where you can get them at a good price..... :?:

Essex, the most speed cameras in the country, and.......
DaveStorm replied to kvwloon's topic in General Car Chat
Sometimes I'm glad I live in the back of beyond, apparently there is only one fixed speed camera in the whole of this county! Then again the cops probably think it isn't worth putting any more up as your more than likely to be slowed down by the bloody traaaaactors instead!! :) -
WAAAAH!!! Don't say that! How much are they asking for it SSS? Paid £5.5k for my one owner, 96k, FVWSH Storm last November BTW :-P Good luck with the viewing, hope it's a good one

Some belated Inters pics of the corrado variety for you all
DaveStorm replied to GsixT's topic in General Car Chat
What a great set of pics, wish I could have made it there. The deep dish wheels on the blue M reg make it look soooo mean! 8) -
He he havn't heard that for years  :)
-
Yes it's good to see another one saved 8) Is that the storm badge I can see on the end of your glovebox? Just wondered where they were situated on autos as it's not by the 'box.
-
Very true, in fact I don't believe that VW ever have built an ugly coupe. Karmann Ghia, Mk I and Mk II Scirocco, Corrado and even Polo 'coupe' are all still good looking cars IMHO. It'll be interesting to see what their next coupe will look like, after all it's been nine years since the demise of the C. Only hope that they don't call it Corrado though.

Yep £82.25 with free UK delivery, on the link below they are the fifth image down http://www.performancecentre.co.uk/default.htm?page=13 Seems to good to be true really if the going rate is normally £140 :?
-
Looking around for a set for my VR. Found some on http://www.performancecentre.co.uk for £82.25 does this seem reasonable, has anyone had any dealings with them? Thanks.
-
So they are rather expensive and unreliable then, thanks for the opinions peeps, I wasn't thinking of changing my car for the Alfa, my Storm will be staying with me for a long time yet and it's never let me down thankfully! I love the C but also like the look of the Alfa too and know it has a cracking engine. Thanks anyway 8)

That is a gorgeous looking VR - and with a high spec too - I doubt there are many others around that look as good as this one 8) -

Has anybody here ever driven one of these Alfas( 5 OR 6 speed) or had any experience of them? I really like the look of them and was just wondering if the Alfa could be considered as a worthy successor to the C as both cars appear to have quite a bit in common on paper. Heres what I reckon Both cars are small, good looking, front wheel drive coupes with the C having more luggage and passenger space and a better driving position. Both come with V6 engines and have an engine capacity of almost 3 litres. Although the Alfa has 220bhp against the VRs 190 they both seem fairly evenly matched on the road with 0-60 coming up in around 6.5 secs and top speed of both at close to 150mph. One is from a maker of cars whose engines are known for their brilliance but whose build quality leaves a lot to be desired. (You decide which one I mean LOL!) :) Both are fairly exclusive and not a *common* sight on British roads but... which one handles better and which would you prefer given the choice? Having only driven the VR im clearly biased towards it but I'd be keen to know your opinions as well. Cheers

Used my cloths for the first time this afternoon and they work really well, they soak up the excess water with such ease, well worth the money. Cheers John :thumbleft:

I don't think anyone does make all red rear lights for the C, I hunted everywhere for ages but couldn't find any so it's a case of tinting your own I'm afraid. I have actually gone for the all smoked Inpros now, and am beginning to get used to them. I reckon they look good on dark C's and also on white, red and silver ones too.

Nice black J reg G60 with very clean standard BBS alloys and darkened rear lights. Parked at Sainsburys in Hereford at 6pm yesterday.
