got it ordered. Dont need to take the front end off!! just undo the front engine mount a jack up the engine. Its a wee bit fidely but I had the radiator out within an hour  . The fans are the hard bit to get out, the radiator was much easier 8) Just need to wait till Monday/Tuesday to get the new one. I'm gonna post a few pics in a minute. Timo.

The radiator has just gone pop in the VR. Not even had it on the road for a week and its let me down. The G60 never gave me any trouble  Ironicall it happened (or I noticed) just as I got to the VW dealers. Lucky or what. They want £140 inc VAT for a new one (special price cos I'm a good customer). I said i'll limp home first and then think about it. boo hoo Timo. P.S. bet its a twat to fit a new one too?

cool, thats what I thought. Ta Timo.

Can you adjust the alignment of the rear wheels. Just curious more than anything else :) Timo.
-
The bushes are a nightmare, would never do them again but I wont have to for a while  Been on longer run in the car today and I'm well chuffed with it. Once the alignment is sorted it'll be the daddy!!! Timo.

Just got my VR back on the road after installing the same koni kit as you. Feels so much better. Haven't had the wheels aligned just yet. Back end feels really tight now. New mounts/bushes all round. Den_VR6, Did you install it all yourself? Timo.

registered ta Timo.

How hard would it be to replace the starter motor in a 1990 polo GT? Can get a hold of this car for next to nothing but the starter motor has gone in it. Cheers Timo.

oh well! Too late now, need for tomorrow. I have no car at the minute  Tax ran out on the G60 yesturday and I'm swapping them over. The insurance and tax started on the VR6 today and I can't drive it  I'm now off to cycle to my sisters house (7 miles or so) where there is now two corrados neither which I can drive. God it's like the ultimate torture!!! Should have the bias valve tomorrow so hopefully it will be running! Timo.

Just ordered it along with the bolts. £101+VAT   Where did you get it for £60 kev. Fortunately the guy I spoke to on the phone knows me well so I should get the usual heathly amount if discount. i.e. I should get it for around the £100, but still all that for a silly we thing. Oh well, nevermind. Kinda half expected to get one. I thought I had got away with it. Timo. :(

Cheers kev, gald to see its cheaper than it used to be. I stripped one of the bolt trying to get the bloomin thing off. However I did manage to get the rear axle off without removing it. I twisted it round with one bolt still in place and manage just to get the axle bolt out. I thought everything would be alright until I reconnected all the brake pipes into it and the bottom two (supply pipes) didn't want to thread into their holes properly and I couldn't get them to go in straight. It leaks fluid from these when I try and fill up the brake system. I am now about to order it and go and cut off the old one which should be fun!!! Timo.

Need the part number for the rear brake bias valve for my VR6. It'll save me explaining ove the phone to the clown at VW dealers what I want. Cheers Timo.

There's two rear mounts per side!! a lower one and an upper one. Not sure the price but they weren't that expensive. If I remember correctly the bumpstops were more than the mounts. You can get them from gsf. never bothered with new dust covers, they were fine but it depends on the condition of yours. I would just stick to VAG bump stops, there's no need to upgrade them and will be cheaper no doubt Timo.

think I spent about £130-140 on all new top mounts, bumpstops etc. Also that includes the rear axle bushes!! Word of warning about these if you are thinking of doing them yourself..... Dont, they are a nightmare!! I got most of the stuff from VAG. Timo.
-
£145 from awesome for the rear, I'm guessing thats without the VAT  Timo.
-
YES!!!!! I've just bought that kit myself. Haven't driven the car with them yet but from what I've heard about the kit, it is very good and a bargain at that price. Go for it! 8) Timo.

For gods sake dont do it yourself, what a f&cking nightmare it is. I knew they were going to be twats but I never expected them to be this bad. Well worth paying someone else to do it!!! They're a nightmare to get out and a nightmare to get in. Taking off the rear axle is a pain too, its bloomin heavy and awkward if you just there yourself and you have to undo loads of pipes etc to get it off. I'll never do it again, but I wont have to for another ten years or so!!! Timo.
-
.... a speeding bullet!!! :D Timo.
-
Are you gonna buy it back from the insurance company? Timo.
-
I haven't got it back together yet but I'll be bleeding everything I can bleed in order to get rid of every last drop of old brake fluid!!! Timo.
-
Mmmm interesting, I've bleed them quite a few times for various things and I still aint too impressed by them, although they are pretty good they certainly dont blow you away!!! Perhaps its time to upgrade to DOT 5.1 me thinks  Timo.
-
you're a star mate. Thanks alot!!!! Timo.
-
Emm...... took the 4 brakes pipes that go into the rear brake proportional valve out to get the rear axle of to do the bushes and now I cant remember where they go back in  . SHould have paid more attention I suppose. Its on the VR by the way  So, which ones go where?? Cheers Timo.
-
;) oh dear  . I must be tired. Sorry Timo.
