I remember a few Grand Prix's ago something about BAR adding a modification to their car and then the rest of the teams objected and it was banned? My question is what was it? cos I only caught the end of the story. Cheers Timo.

oh right!! Thanks for that PhatVR6, Makes everything clear! Timo.
-
I thought it was the Haldex system that puts the drive into the rear wheels as well, when the front starts to lose grip?? Timo.
-
Is the rallye setup permanent 4wd, unlike the Haldex, which only provides drive to the rear wheels when the front starts to lose grip or do they both work in a similar way?

a rough base guide should be between 550-600 on a standard car.. this is just a base figure though. What does changing the resistance of that actually do? I set mine to 500 ohms when I was having a few problems with my g60 after I first got it. It could really do with a proper tune up but there's no where decent that's near me!! The resistance was actually set a wee bit higher than that as I made a note of it incase by changing it, it screwed everything up. What would be a "rough guide" setup for a engine with 68mm pulley and chip. Just a ball park, I know its really needs fine adjustment!! Cheers Timo.

perhaps a little. It helps to keep the air intake temp down a little and the warmer recycled air isn't going back into the charger. The oil breather isn't polluting the intake air, which again must help with the performance. I wouldn't say there was any really noticable difference but I do think its a worthy modification and it makes sense doing it!! Timo.

Kinda sorted the annoying noise now. It took me two attempts to make up some pipework from the bypass valve. The first one I tried literally blew up  , due to the bit of rubber pipe I used was a little weak!! Anyway I now have the mkll version on with a massive pipe. There is alot of pressure in that system 8) . It now makes a nice whistle noise whilst driving along and slowing down and still quite a nice "psstt" when changing gear under some serious acceleration. My thanks to g-master, for the blanking plate and filter. Engine bay looks that little bit sweeter now  Ta Timo.

I take it I can get it for VW though? Timo.

Tried Halfords. The match isn't exactly great, in fact its pretty poor. Timo.

Where's the best place to get paint from? Getting some work done to spruce the car up in the near future and want to make sure I get the proper paint. Is VW the best place to get it from? and if so how much money are we talking about?? Thanks Timo.

TSR do an SSK Kit for £423 (incl VAT) or 4 dampers for £317 The larkspeed price does look good, although I'm only really after 2 rears that can be adjusted for my eibach springs and TSR are just too far away. The idea was to try to get a reasonable price on a collection of individual dampers as at least a couple of us just want to improve on the rear height and Koni's look about the best option. I could find out what price I could get the kits for but I'd imagine they'd be about the same as larkspeed. but if people want standard height Konis or just pairs of lowered dampers and no springs then whole kits are a bit much. By all means suggest any options though. David. Good point mate. I did notice quite a few people only wanted rears or fronts. Perhaps this could turn into a double group buy 8) Could try Larkspeed for GB on the Koni kits but I just wonder if they'll move much on price as they seem to be £40 cheaper than any other website! Timo.

Yeah, I can handle the Cone Filter for about a week or so then it just gets too annoying and I revert back to the standard box. Timo.

My plans a few months ago was to buy the full koni kit and see how I found it. If I wasn't too happy I was going to get the H&R springs a few months down the line after that. But from what people have said the Koni kit is very similar to the Koni/H&R setup. Maybe we should be trying to get a GB on the Koni kits  Timo.
-
That's what I was thinking. £380 is the cheapest I've seen, thats for Koni Sport Suspension Kit. Look here:- http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?c=KON ... 261727&a=i Not trying to burst the bubble but it seems for a bit more you can get a full koni kit. For me it (vr6) it would be £190 for the fronts and £140 for the rears so thats £330. Still need springs after that which ~£120-150 mark. Just my opinion. Pretty sure the koni kit is the same as the TA dampers you have quoted prices, but I could be wrong! Timo.

SOLD.......... I'll have it!!! 8) How much? Send me you details and i'll send you a cheque or some other form of payment if you prefer (i.e. paypal etc). Cheers man Timo

Aiii, need to get the kit ordered from Darren. I'll probably get used to the noise. A long pipe sounds like a good move, gonna have to be a rather big one though. Does the G-werks kit come with the pipe for bypass valve? cheers guys Timo.

Been trying to persuade myself to get a boost return kit for the car. Thought I would try a home made attempt first to see how I liked the noise, psstt!!! etc. The psstt!!! is great but I'm not too sure about the continuous noise that there is when not on positive boost. It sounds almost like a grinding/sqeeky disc brake. I left the 90 degree bend on the underneath of the TB pointing towards the rear of the engine. I have now turned this round but haven't been out in the car to see if that helps. Anyone got any other ideas to reduce the noise? or is it just the downside of removing the boost return. I'm sure I could get used to it, but its just a little annoying especially when shifting down gears to slow done. Cheers Timo.

aaahhhhhh!!!! Good thinking though! Fair enough mate, really interesting car you have there, really enjoyed the story. Nothing like blowing a scooby away. They seem to think they are invincible!! (Which they are most of the time!! unless you have a wee secret under the bonnet!!) Timo.
