very nice job! off topic, but i hate the wheels on the BMW, why oh why oh why would you chooose to have them!
-
Could we also work in a list of Part numbers? Im sure it would help people, it would really help me if i had some kind of ref to come to for parts so i dont have to post on the forum asking all the time. i really dont trust VW when i ring them for a part, most of them dont know what the corrado is! What do you think members&mods? Also be good if we could have lists of Non VW parts for the corrado, and maybe rate them, i would take the time out to maybe make up a web page for te lists.

How many forum members plan on NEVER selling their Corrado?
godskitchen replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
I hope they do allow gradeAfailure, i hope you dont wake up 20 years from now in a cold sweat and think "God i should have never sold the C!!!" -
 Big playstation! your not wrong!
-
Have known for a while i will never (yeah never say never, i know) sell the Corrado, and if i did it would only be to buy another one with less miles on trhe clock or whatever. how many of you are thinking the same? how often will you drive it? can you see a day when only a handfull of us still use the Forum?

New personal record. Only 1900 miles between MOT's
godskitchen replied to keystarG60's topic in General Car Chat
think i have done about 600 miles this year so far in the storm, one more 400 mile round trip is all i have planned for it. -
Why on earth would you flog that in ebay? the ebay fees would be silly! no need! i hope a guy from Nigeria wins!

Could we have a new champ?? If Autocar is a reliable indicator of the tastes of British car buyers, Chrysler may have to depend on the Patriot to carry the ball - the magazine thinks that the "distinctive" Compass Rallye could well displace the homely Ssangyong Rodius (right, below) as "Britain's ugliest car." Meanwhile, 4Car's reviewers are more kind, saying only that the Rallye's "different look is likely to polarise opinion." It makes me mad when a car company has to make job cuts for cars not selling, nothing to do with the workers, just crap design! how can anyone think this looks good?

ok guys quick update! trook the car to the garage last friday, told be ready by evening, rang at 5, not ready, told tomorrow morning, rand not ready till evening, rang nope sorry monday now. Get a call TUESDAY to tell me he has got round to it but his words now "the thing the bearings go into are worn, i can get a new one for 50euro +vat, or a VW one will cost 140euro+vat" i told him to hold on, i wanted to get some advicve off the forum. What is the part he could be talking about? not the hub? some sort of casing? Sounds like thew bearing Toad, the same things happened to me twice as is happening to you now, both times it was the bearing! makes a silly sound! get SKF bearings, the ones i had before were vtec and lasted 1000 miles!

Some people only understand violence and will continue to behave in the same manner until they receive a good few smacks in the mouth! -

I saw a black Mk5 gti in a showroom this week with no miles on it, didnt look as good as that! -
You have not seen rubbish roads until you have come to the west of Ireland, i have driven most of the UK and your worst roads are F1 tracks when put along side ours! 4 people got lost down pot holes last year!
-
Someone on here was saying they had some non VW ones fitted, lasted 3, yes 3 WEEKS! i had mine changed only 3k miles ago, non VW ones! Thanks for the help guys, i think i will get another set in england but get a mate to post them over via his work for free as they really weigh a poo load! One last thing, whats involved in wheel alignment? and can any garage do it or does the garage need some magic kit?
-
Was told to stay clear of anything from GSF but if they are the same as the ones that VW use then i have been had!

Hello, having my wheel bearings changed on the Front O/S on the Corrado this Friday, I got the part number 1H0498625 from VW today (thanks to the forum for the part No) 1H0498625 this is the right part Number yes? Paid 83 Euro Inc vat (£56) sound about right? Also the garage I am taking it to, its not my first choice, but I don’t want to drive the car too far, its making the worst noise ever from the wheel in question, what do I need to say to them? I know it needs to be pressed and the hub needs to come off, how long should it take? And what needs to happen after? Some kind of wheel alignment? So I guess what I am asking is what the whole process involve? Cheers guys&girls!

Bloody hell i agree :!:

Do a search, loads of info on them, there is only 4 left IIRC (prove otherwise ), a lad on here used to have the leather and dash from one that had been written off. Guy on here "Campaign" has one. funny that. Mods will lock this, searchy time!

Pretty much the same thing happened to me in my MK2, would not go into 5th, when i got it in it popped out now and again, thankfully it first happened on route to viewing the Storm, so i didnt have to put up with it for long!
