Not the best picture but just a quickie until I do a full shoot
-
Cheaper from Halfords, on offer at £29.99 right now. The McGard product code you need is 28018
-
Thanks OSV, I feel pretty honoured to be owning a piece of motoring history! It'll be a while yet before I get it to the standard of your car!
-
Alright Kev, whats the suspension set up in this pic? The height looks good on the Speedlines and its the kinda drop I want to go for
-
yeah no probs Jim, PM me your email address and I'll get them sent
-
Well popped out this morning in the rain for a few photos... And a couple to show off the beading
-
Cheers Jim, The Autoglym HD Wax really is superb stuff, especially on darker cars, a bit pricey but lasts a long time after each application and the tub will last at least 6 months!

Well, got the car back from Ron Turnbull VW Specialists this morning and thought I'd treat the VAJ to her first machine polish. The bodywork wasn't too bad with medium light swirls and very minor holograms. Gave her a wash and then polished with DA and Menzerna polish and sealant before a final coat of AG HD wax, and the results...

Cheers guys, Its at the VW specialists til tomorrow getting a new ABS sensor and a new battery, after that she should be as good as new!
-
Anybody know if these are still available from DDI? just been on their website and couldn't find it

I had them on a 3-series before and were very good so I thought I'd give them a try on the Rado before thinking about splashing out on Lupo arms! Plus they aren't flat aero blades which I don't particularly like the look of on the Rado!
-
Hello all, Just got a pair of Bosch Super PLus wiper blades and I'd highly recommend them. I've had them before but thought I'd give them a go on the Rado's notoriously poor wiper arms and I have to say that they are a perfectly viable alternative to the expensive Lupo or TT option. They cost me £11 for the passenger side and £13 for the drivers side with the spoiler. They are super quiet and super smooth and no juddering. They wipe very cleanly with no streaks or smears. The drivers blade still loses a little bit of contact with the screen (small patch on middle of screen) on the upwards wipe but gets everything else on the way down. They are very very effective wiper blades and are 95% of the way to being perfect without the excessive costs of the Lupo arms and blades!

Guys and gals. So just a quick update and pics after a week of ownership! Well the interior was completely filthy, with 15 years of dirt and grime. I gave it a good scrub and 2 rounds of Vanish carpet cleaner later it looks as good as new, and some new grey mats are arriving soon. The weather has prevented me from getting any "after" pictures but I'll update with a lot more pics once it stops raining and I can detail the exterior as well. The next step was to remove all the ICE in the boot. My dad didn't really use the car as a daily driver so never needed the boot. Whereas I'll be using as my main car so I needed all the space I could get from the smallish boot. So it was big barrel sub out along with the amps and a new Kenwood KDC 3047a head unit fitted. The front discs were completely shot (brake judder) and were replaced with Brembo OEM discs at £42 a pair, bargain! 4 wheel alignment was done along with 2 new Uniroyal Rainsport 2's at the front so she drives perfectly now. The ABS light has also been on a while now so its going in to the VW specialists tomorrow to get that sorted out and to have the spongy throttle pedal checked out too. Next up are some new pedal rubbers and a real good wash, and detail of the exterior and maybe get the wheels refurbed.

I agree, £80 for two pieces of metal is mental though, and I'm not keen on Rain-X. What blades are you currently using carrots?
-
My problem is the drivers side blade, theres a huge patch in the middle of the screen that it isn't touching at all
-
What blades are you using Coullstar?
-
Well keep this thread alive Carrots and let me know any prices or part numbers mate
-
Do the non GTi Lupo wipers work? I'm just not keen on the aero wiper look on the Corrado
-
Thanks offhisrocker. Its very good advice and any help is welcome! I'll have a look this weekend and keep you guys posted on this. I have a sneaking suspicion it might be carbon build up in the throttle body.
-
Ok, on a more serious note... I've just been outside, started the car up and blipped the throttle a couple of times. Basically, when I come off the throttle pedal, it takes the engine about a second before it reacts and drops the revs. Anybody have or had this before? Or is that how its supposed to be?
-
Haha, damn it Kev, I thought you weren't going to tell anyone about those shoes! :camp:
-
There was indeed some family discount, although I had to haggle for it! I'll get pics up and report progress on here!
-
Hi guys, I've got a spongy feel to my throttle in the VR6. It also feels a bit vague and the pedal feel is not as "springy" as other cars I've driven. Is this normal or is there a deeper underlying problem? Thanks in Advance
-
Hey guys and gals, Well I finally sold my BMW and bought my dad's VR6 off him! It was registered as a demonstrator from new and my dad was the second registered owner since 1995 and has covered less than 40k miles! The rain has spoilt any chance of pics, but I'll update the progress in this thread. There's a few things I need to do to it to tidy it up a bit! Thanks for reading and I hope I can tap into some of your help and knowledge in the process!

Mercedes w124 or something like that would be ok, but not sure if cars back in the early 90's had central locking switches, it was a feature that came in more towards late 90's so you might struggle to find something
