    Rear Calipers dead?

mine ones stuck aswell on my 16v last year the cable stuck so there was no tension in the handbrake, some warm/hot water over the caliper done the trick.
  3. i think its not a resonable comparison because they are cars from different timescales, the corrado was on its way out when the ITR was born, but they are both the top cars of their times
  4. i wont let him buy a corrado because a:) it is exclusively for me in my family :D and b:) he's not the sort of person to treat the corrado the way it should be and doesnt deserve it! what other cars could be bought with a budget of around 2k?
  5. My cousins looking to get an audi coupe preferably a late mode 1993-1996, has anyone had any experience with these cars and do they share any engines from the VW range?

    Road Tax...

i used to buy 6 monthly tax on all my cars before, but as i knew i was keeping the corrado i just bought a years and be done with it, not got to renew untill june :D I also have to buy a bloody permit to park on my road (£27p/a) when theres only three spaces (shared by 5 cars) available outside my block and across the road is business parking, what a load of bo**ox
  7. i dont think the bubbles would have much to do with it as i belive the fuel system is best left alone. Unlike petrol diesels need the fuel to be more hot in order run, try giving it two or three glow plugs (orange light with a symbol which looks like an audi sign) and then start it and see. dont bother with the injector cleaning stuff at 19000 its hardly beneficial. it isnt a turbo diesel is it?

    Bit of a judder

or both, as the clutch puts extra stress on the mounts
  9. the engine wont be at idle if you coast at 60mph on 5th gear it would be around 2500 revs but because the throttle butterfly is closed, the fuel must be enough to make the engine run lean, but cos the display has only --.- digits showing the maximum value it can display is 99.9 which could be inaccurate. Doh! about the stading still economy!
  10. The bit that confuses me is that if you let the car coast in gear, foot off throttle the instant fuel economy is reported at 99.9mpg it seems like some sort of parameter for the switch, however if the car is stationery than the instant fuel economy reports 0.0 MPG. So i assume that as long as the throttle is pressed and the car is moving then the MFA will be accurate.
  11. im not sure about this, but you could try to trim some of the plastic away to make it fit over the button
  12. Would of thought they are a straight swop...............Yes they are the Hazard warning switch looks alot bigger tho..............you would need the later cowling from a 93> car and would the MFA functions all work.............................yes the switch is exactly the same for this Instructions IIRC 1 Remove Steering Wheel 24mm socket 2. Unplug horn wires gently as pressure on the contacts can bend them, messing up the horn. 3. undo 3 black screws (flat slot) around the circular part of the stalks behind steering wheel. 4. You might need to undo the plastic trim next to the fusebox as the MFA has a wire plugged in further down the steering coloumn 5. unplug all the connections from the rear wiper stalk mark them up if you want but they can only fit in the designated holes unless they are forced, which is where marking them can be useful. HTH
  13. They are all the pieces i managed to get hold of, i'd like to know where the dash is myself, i'd presume its in a salvage yard somewhere! if anyone comes across it let me know i'd snap it up save me paying out for a re-trim. Since the last set of photos a set of later clocks, stalks, original gear knob and black A/B/C pillar trims have been fitted......and the project continues.
  14. yeah it would but i'd have to change wings to make it look right, and wings i aint got at the mo, hows the door pods bally? have you used em yet or do you wanna sell them back to me ;)
  15. the best is yet to come ;)
  16. the fist theory did work on a BMW 3 series, with one headlight and one sidelight working, one bang other sidelight came on, two bangs other headlight came on :D
  17. IIRC, i have to double check...just checked, the holes are the SAME its just the wiring to the fog light switch and the heated R/W maybe different, headlight switch is direct swap also indicator stalks, however you will need the later cowling as the hazard switch is bigger, but you could trim your existing cowling to size i've added a picture of the later centre dash trim to verify that the holes are the same Hope to Help
  18. its easy to take out clocks, and as they dont have mechanical sppedo cables its even easier. Undo 2 screws from the bottom left/ bottom right of the plasitc cowling wihch cover the instruments there may be plugs on the screws so prise these out CAREFULLY!. Undo the two vertical screws at the top of the same plastic part. undo the two screw either side other the cluster and it should come out dont forget to unplug the wires. Remove the plasic cover by removing the two screws at each side then you can change the bulbs.
  19. cheers mate, i dont know how those people no rice keep their cars immaculate, i cant seem to manage it, but that could be the fact that i do 60 motorway miles to get there

  21. i havent had much luck getting pictures of my since the respray, if my camera isnt busted then its raining, but heres one in the rain aswell more to follow
  22. I hated the sloppy gearchange of the corrado hence i got my quickshift. I had to grind abit of the lip Kev mentioned and also elongated the groove which is used to push the lever down and select reverse, no other problems encountered, nigels right it has to be set up correctly or else it would cause mayhem
  23. i'd expect to pay up to £100 for that service from a non specialist garage, vw parts are ten a penny from GSF or ECP. Which exhaust was replaced and what quality is the replacement?
