  1. Thanks for the advice mate, i dont have the biggest budget like some guys on here (mature student 24 lol) but maintaining and updating when I can, I would honestly not be without my VR now.. I will keep my eye on your thread to see whats happening!!!!
  2. Yes mate, I like what you did with the front lights I know its not everyones cup of tea but its good to go your own way.
  3. 350 iirc "by the way nice car mate I had a read up of your build thread the other day, the car is a credit to you :salute: "
  4. I can see your point that is a really good price compared to the US as by the time you have faffed about its not worth it. I fancy giving the corrado a bit more go but really dont want to move away from N/A as my vr is my only car. Is anyone running 268's in a daily...?
  5. I figured this to be the case tho I know someone who lives in the states and may be able to get things sent as a gift cough cough rather than from a company direct.. Can I dodge import duty that way..? Any clues on how much DG Autotech cams are..?
  6. Hi guys I have had my usual post christmas ponder about the VR and what to do in the new year and I have been thinking about changing the cams in the VR. I know of the most popular brands and wondered if any cam to the 263 profile would be worthwhile if not a known european brand, eg piper or schrick.. I have had a look online and americans seem to have masses of cams and people who make them and what appears to be to at a very good qaulity, but for a fraction of the uk price. For instance 262's on http://www.autotech.com/prod_engine_camshafts.htm#vr6 for $350 for the pair (lifetime warranty) or 268's on http://www.fourseasontuning.com/index.p ... category=2 for a mere $345 dollars. All other profiles are available at also mega competitive prices. This just seems mega cheap to me and either I have seriously missed something or uk companies are charging much more than abroad.... Are these cams from the US made of chocolate...... :D
  7. Hi guys just wondering how hard it is to change the gearbox mount on the VR it looks to me to be a simple... support engine, unbolt, jack up and replace...? Is this the case or am I missing something..? Ant opinions would be greatly recieved. :)
  8. Its been some time after christmas and once again I have had another month or so lapse of coming online and the car is still going strong as ever with a 650mile trip battled with no hick ups. I have had to guy a gearbox mount from GSF as my original is making a chirping noise like a bird under the wheelarch.. Anyone changed one of these...?
  9. Oh yep. The thread was indeed meant to be tongue in cheek. I actually don't think Corrado's are too unreliable considering they are 15 to 20 year old, fairly rare, performance cars. But so far there's only one car I've view that I haven't jinxed... C5 OEM's. It's only a matter of time before my jinx catches up and the wheels fall off though :) Sorry mate just no luck atm, Was the leak serious...? or a sprung pipe? I think sadly the same with anything of a classic or aging nature, its never going to be perfect unless you pay top dollar and even then you get some horrors. When I bought mine it was a genuine car, full history 3 owners, with 72k. It was by no way perfect, slight rust in one wheel arch, dent in the door, lacquer peel on the wing, but the car was very solid. I think the longer a hunt goes on it can go two ways... 1 you end up buying the first thing you see (not in your case :D ) or 2 you can end up trying too hard to find the perfect buy. Mine in no way was perfect but its a damn sight closer now. I salute you sir in your quest :salute: .
  10. Good news all the TT wipers have arrived and on inspection they where I have to say the biggest bargain I have ever bought for my Corrado costing me £10!!!!!!!! they are absolutely mint and even come with some good blades! As per caution tho I have some new ones on standby and ready to go on. Fingers crossed I will get chance to have a play in a moment :) .

    Project VR

Very nice wheels my man, Kerscher wheels look so smart and are a fresh alternative to Borbets. Lovely car.
  12. Hi guys just been searching through my pc and come across a couple of shots of some wheels that at some point have been on the car, Just thought I would add them on to add to my car thread! Also a shot of the Webasto Slider Sunroof... :D, Not the best shot in the world but you get the idea.
  13. I have indeed my man, but with me wheels seem to find me like im some sort of wheel magnet!! I have already been through Audi TT comps, MK4 Golf GTI and Schmidt 3pc Modern lines... and always go back to speedlines. :D
  14. Any more comments on these wheels and regard to choice.....?
  15. I hate to say guys I have suffered this even through this forum before. I once in desperation bought a green slam panel "excellent condition" cough cough for my vr for a sum of £60 when it arrived it was total scrap! I was devastated as winter was approaching and I desperately needed the car fixed and in my naivety trusted his description, the slam panel was but only full of rust but the top level panel had been bent back (to what looked like remove a rad then bent back down with a hammer!!). In short in the end It went in the skip and I had to find another. I would always prefer to buy new but im conscious that many genuine guys as many are on here, have perfectly good second hand parts that keep us all going. Merchants breaking corrados by the day are going to dictate how much we pay in the future if they continue the break them the way they are now, as the number of cars left is going to drop through the floor. I have seen this before with classic bikes and sadly it just does not get better... Hang on to your cars!!!!!!!!!
  16. Fingers crossed the TT wipers will be here tomorrow and then its just a matter of sorting the blade lengths. Does anyone know of the correct blade lengths for TT arms on a Corrado?
  17. No its the Mk1's you want. Not sure if they Mk2s are different. Thankyou mate and thank god for that!!!! :D
  18. K series being kv6 and k series 4 cylinder engines in my experiance can do without an elastomeric head gasket!!!
  19. KV6 Problems stemmed from, fan breaking, thermostat splitting, head gaskets going and then for me crack lol i mean block splitting :( .
  20. I have dark smoke and have the originals in the loft... Best of both worlds.. Dark smoke all the way!!!!!
  21. Hi guys I have recently had the pleasure of rebuilding a rover KV6 number 14 rover rebuild for my dad and I thought I would have a look on the Austin rover online website to have a look at the history of the KV6 engine, as for its capacity its pretty advanced just let down by some silly design decisions. I was ready away happily taking in the prose when this disgusting comment below wandered across my eyes lol :mad2: . Dont get me wrong, I love cars, engines and technology, but when did Rover... ROVER of all people get the moral and technological high ground to call the VR6 flawed... Raant over now. I just thought I would share this stupidity with some fellow vr6 fans. http://www.aronline.co.uk/ Rover's need for a new V6 and V8 was hardly a secret in the industry - what with Volkswagen's approach offering its flawed VR6 engine to Rover for a knock down price in order to boost production levels at its plant in Germany. :bad-words:
  22. Just curiously im fron woking in surrey now residing in cardiff but often travelling back.. Where abouts are you from....?
  23. I have to say that the colour for me was never one that I would have considered, BUT now I have it I think it is a beautiful colour to have and really when cleaned is stunning. I think the Dragon Green shade in my opinion is one that suits the shape and lines off to a tee better than most of the other options. The first time I had fully washed cleaned and waxed the car... pulled up into a petrol station at night my jaw dropped! The pearl effect in the paint is honestly stunning! For me now I would say Dragon Green 1 then Blackberry 2. You honestly will not be dissapointed!
  24. Here are the OZ anyone any clues to model name???
