  1. Need the rear cap for a late headlamp- the larger circular one that covers the main dipped beam/sidelight and twists on with a rubber 'o' ring. Maybe someone got a headlamp that's otherwise scrap?
  2. Well, duh, he started it :bad-words: ..... so back on thread, I received remainder of tunnel today, so I'll pack it up and post tomorrow or Monday latest.
  3. Yep- interested in VR prices- Samco's just too dear but they need doing sooner rather than later
  4. Thanks Dan- I'll suss it out tomorrow :salute:
  5. I've got 288's on VR but pedal feel lousy. Anyone report on difference using alternative pads? As others have written, the stopping power is v good, but the initial bite is awful. It really stands out when you have to hit the brakes unexpectedly and find that there is a long time between thinking 'brake', hitting the pedal and anything really happening. My other cars would stop dead much quicker.
  6. Thanks dude- they're ordered. That's the big weekend planned then..............
  7. What sizes do I need? Are they all the same- I see they come in 2, 3, 5mm sizes
  8. Nice one C488ADO- this looks 'well proper' as they say. V impressed. I'm logging in to Maplin as I type...........
  9. dude, really - don't feel bad! I might be getting a dash soon dude . . . . . I hear you.... I reckon maybe black leather but still pondering it......
  10. How about some hot pants? :norty: Oooh- now that would be something. Then a pair of cream boots :D Then I could ram a cream boot up your ass :bad-words: Probably better than one of your bananas
  11. Ok- now I'm feeling bad that you've bought this skin and I'm not using it all up - I'm now thinking about what else you could maybe make for me. I'll ponder that in daylight (aint seeing the car in daylight at moment, what with work 'n' all :( ) and get back to you.
  12. Thanks C488ADO- how are they described in Maplin? (I'm guessing they've got a few different types just maybe :? )
  13. Tool came yesterday- many thanks dude............ :salute:
  14. Thanks- I'll maybe tackle at weekend. Can you buy new bulbs for them once they pop?
  15. Ah- didn't know there was one- the sound comes from the back right side of engine- seem likely? It does sound like water
  16. When I turn on ignition (but dont start car) I can hear a fairly loud pump churning away in engine bay. I'm guessing its the fuel pump- but its blooming noisy, sounds as if it is churning some air as well as fuel- anyone got any ideas as to whether its just on way out or can I do anything to help it?
  17. The rear screen heater button works and the screen demists. The bulb inside the switch only sometimes. It never goes on when you press it, but leave it switched on and next time you start the car, the little switch lights up. Turn it off and back on straight away- wont light up. It's so erratic, I'd swear it was Italian. I'll need to open it up, but before I break six tabs and wreck the switch, any tips?
  18. Dave- I could use a kit for drivers side- at your leisure...........

    screw cover

Yeah, you and four hundred others. I've got a left one, but can't get a right. If anyone has some, you could probably get a fiver a pair!
  20. This would scare the crap out of anyone. I've got a bubble on same arch and when I checked it out few weeks ago, discovered it a bit nasty behind. Found a big wodge of sealer behind rim coming loose so cleaned it out and left open meantime. It'll get fixed in the spring- it'll be cut out and a section welded back in, shaped and painted. Also do all the little bits here and there- number plate light recess has a fleck or two, seam at drivers doorcheck. As these photos show, you just can't mess around with these bits- cover them up and the next thing you know it's a wreck! Sorry to see this on a late car though. Probably been poorly repaired or maintained in the past. As Corrados all approach the twenty year mark, only those with owners giving serious maintenance will last to the 25-year mark. They'll rapidly deplete in numbers unless most find a seriously good home. I'll be welling up in a minute. What we need is a third world country (UK shortly  ) to buy the dies and start making Corrados again. They could make an electric one for shopping, a hybrid one for the grass-huggers and a W8 for the rest of us. Just as long as they don't limit the supply of window rollers, heater controls, headlamp switches and dash cover caps
