daves16v, 2 daughters.......how do you find money for wheels? -
you mean higher left and right, or higher front and back? i can go take a look if you like. are we talking millimeters or feet??
-
wouldnt mind a diagram to show which this nut is, if thats possible i'll have to go ahead and get a set of these then. only cut 20mm off them?? surely then the car would run on the bump stops too much? DEFINATELY in the right order and all nice and tight....thanks though
-
whats a blank? i know what a cam is already  i have emailed grant motorsport
-
cheers phat, so it can be done. whould the ecu need to be chipped aswell?
-
I have heard alot about new cams and the different benefits..... would i work the same if you had your current cams re-profiled??? and if so what technical data would be needed? i know someone who works in the business and can re-profile cams for approx £150 per shaft. any advice?

talking of jedi :) the sony pin removers are nothing but flat thin bits of metal. any flat thin bit of metal about 8mm wide should sort it for you. i used a very small screwdriver actuall you insert the metal 'object' at about a 10 degree angle pointing up and then simply push the part you still have in your hand up to make the metal horizontal, that should free it all off... (not very well explained sorry) if not its obvious the clips have bust and then i have no idea! sorry

ah i see, so it could just be the fact that it needs re-charging and then all will work fine.... thanks for the explanation, i'll get it booked in :D
-
well the stuff i use (which my mechanic friend gets me for free, aparently you cant buy it in the uk???? i'll have to ask him what it is) makes a difference from what i can tell. especially the first time you use it.... thereafter it wont be as noticable as its just 'keeping' them clean instead of cleaning for the first time. But mine runs fine if thats anything to go by?
-
i put a bottle full of injector cleaner (not just your average redex off the shelf at halfords stuff) in the tank at every service.... .. what added advantage will getting them taken out and cleaned give? did you ever put fuel injector cleaner in to try before getting them all done?

well im after a new exhaust anyway and if i understand correctly, they come with new rubbers so we'll see if that solves it
-
im supprised they are bottoming out, there looks to be pleanty of travel in them??and they do have bump stops on, just small ones as opposed to the standard long vr6 ones
-
the belt is the big long one that runs everything so surely if it was the belt, then nothing would be working, altanator, power steering etc...?? also, if it was just a fact it needed regassing, surely the engine would still change speed, just not get cold??? im just guessing though, i dont actually know.... ALTHOUGH, it was definately working when i got the car cause i tested it and you could hear the engine change speed and the cold came through
-
oh mine are like that...i didnt think it had a special name :?
-
when i was changing mine, the old clip broke and went inside the wing and appeared on the floor.....therefore must be a hole / gap somewhere??? didnt inspect anymore so i dont know just how big the hole is but its worth seeing if its big enought for a hand?? (if not a childs hand if you have a child about  'hey kid, come and stick your hand up here and push the wire back up, cheers matey 8) )

progressive springs??? what are they? i have yellow koni dampers with koni 40mm lowering springs, the springs are a dark maroon in colour did your dampers have notches on them so you can adjust the height of the rear? if that is a pic of your car in your avatar, it looks pretty low at the rear but high at the front HTH
-
with all this nice warm weather on the way i tried my aircon.......................long wait...............nothing..... i sat in the car park this morning playing with it and i couldnt even hear the engine note changing when i pressed the button??? however, when i pressed the 'MAX' button i can hear the flap moving about so at least i know that button is working.. what things can i check or do i need to take to a garage?? apologies if i have asked this before... im having a bad day and i cant remember

sloted nut? on the rear shocks? i took them all apart on saturday and refitted double checking everything was tight.... still get a clunk after refitting though. i will order some bump stops (which means taking the blasted things apart AGAIN!!!! ) and see if that solves it.
