noisey tapets / loss of power... solution!?
jedi-knight83 replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
the oil change was done 1 month ago and i used the proper quantum stuff. the wynns stuff was a cleaner fluid... i guess its cleaned the tappets up like it says on the tin, free'd the engine up and thus given more umph and better mpg?? guess work though -
noisey tapets / loss of power... solution!?
jedi-knight83 replied to jedi-knight83's topic in Suppliers Forum
added to this, last night my MPG was loads better than normal. engine is still noiey though :( -
Dont know if this is the right place for it but im sure the mods will move if not. I was experiencing a noisey engine... dont know if it was tapets or chain noise but on idle the noise wasnt to bad.... pushing the car pash 2000 rmp and it got a bit noisey... so i tried Wynns hydrolic lifter / tapet solution... meant to quieten engines down.... it has worked a little (not as much as i had hoped) but the car feels loads better to drive now.. much more responsive.... could i have cleaned something to the extent of freeing the engine up???

what colour is you car ( i presume thats in the your avatar?) look like the mystic pearl black...whatever the colour was they used on the campaign.....looks sweet anyway. doubt i'll get anyone telling me that mine looks that nice till i have finished the work on it.... looks decidedly average at present :(

maybe not.... still depressing though

expensive parts... no there cheap parts... if you r going to get an mr2 get the turbo inport.. my friend has a nice one and it goes like stick, the other engines are a bit gutless. as you driving, in the dry the handle superb, but the wet, ha, well we ended up going sideways round sainsburys roundabout (all nicely controlled of course) not one for a lady really.. :?

Ouch..... im feeling wounded. I know the corrado is fast but no use pretending its a match for the common day sports car... Going along minding my own business..... M3 CSL comes past me but gets stuck behind a lorry, i pull out behind the CSL and wait for the lorry to move over, thus leaving the path open to chase the CSL........it left me like i was going backwards  i want a new car

What VW's have you owned and how old are you??
jedi-knight83 replied to bigben's topic in General Car Chat
Im 20 (21 in april) so far i the corrado is the only VW i have owned. Wasn't a massive fan of the Mk2 Golf mainly becuase there are too many of them around. I prefer cars you dont see so often and that not many ppl know about so are suprised when you burn them off at the lights. 1. Pug 305 GL 2. Honda CRX MK2 1.6 16v 3. VW Corrado VR6 -
Anyone made their own switchblade key with an OE immobiliser
jedi-knight83 replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
you use your lock barrels and key to enter the car???? -
fair enought... am i right in saying the audi 18" RS4 style wheels will fit though if thats the style you want. TT, A3, S3 are all 5x100 A4 upwards are 5x112
-
No offence andi, cause your a nice guy and all....but those replica's dont look that............ well, replicated.... there much flatter than the RS4 alloy. surely you can fit the TT version of this wheel and the TT has the 5x100 offset
-
bugger....although surely if they break the trim bellow the wipers they will have to buy and fit new ones? i have a stone chip right in my line of sight...im waiting till my MOT to find out if it needs replacing

the mpg was spot on when i tested it... my speedo is 10% out though!!! indicating 100mph and actually doing 89mph
-
i just wondered if it would help. loads of people put one in when they install a cone filter...
-
they were a special edition to launch the vr6 engine i think. K reg so getting a bit long in the tooth now and they had the early style interior. do a search for campaign and you'll find stuff about them chances are you'll never see one, yet alone get the opportunity to buy one
-
too wide!! ugly, dont buy them

just been out with vag com hooked up. air intake temp started at 9 degrees from cold and got up to 30 degrees when the engine warmed up to 100 degrees.
-
I have a VR6 and have been messing around with vag com and looking at the intake air temps. i would like to know where people put their cold air feed pipe (pics would be best) and if they have noticed any differences in driving? if they have run vag com themselves and checked intake temp after the cold air feed is installed? i am running a standard air box with a K&N panel filter thanks

i dont know about rare!! the other morning whilest driving to work, i pulled up behind a blue VR6 and watch a green storm pass us both in the other direction.....far too common for my liking  damn, just imagine if we had all hit each other.....3 in one go :?
-
to continue from Bruno, but to disagree with him........... i changed to a 95 vr6 from a honda crx (go-kart), as far as handling goes the VR6 with standard suspension and standard tyre size is one of the best i have driven. you dont really notice the big engine atall (having said this i have not driven a G60 if im honest) i wasnt disappointed

i had this with my old car. i had a window closure setting that got messed up when i disconnected the battery to solve it. open the windows and sunroof. disconnect the battery for 15 mins (have to make sure its not a rainly day then!!) then reconnect the battery and arm the alarm, the windows and sunroof should close fully. this sets the amount of time the negative pulse should run for and (if there is nothing wrong with the alarm) it will remember this for the future!

its available via downloads from numerous sites now anyway but thanks for the heads up!

yes i see what your getting at, so you just replaced the yellow wire for the mian beam to one that is a bit thicker.
