  1. Also finally it’s all back together, just needs a gearbox oil seal and the new drive shafts fitting
  2. Lovely day for it so for some Persia, comfort and the jet wag out. my god they smell sweeter, and it cost next to nothing.
  3. You’ve probably got a lot of money because you haven’t had a Corrado for a decade 😂😂😂
  4. I might if I can get my oil seal and wheel alignment done.
  5. Take the battery out and check the main earth connection to the body that sits behind it toward the windscreen
  6. I don’t have a g60 but the fact your gauge went would suggest something to do with the replacement of the fuel sender or wiring at the tank end. Surely not coincidence can you try disconnecting the fuel gauge wire and see if that makes a difference, is there an earth to the tank top I would check into that too. Try testing how many amps that pump is dragging it maybe it’s faulty and dragging too much power through that circuit.
  7. Paint guys like you say are on the whole lazy, it’s finding a firm that can be arsed to do things like rub down the rubber left over by cutting the windows, out most of them want to spray straight over the top. I didn’t get mine back perfect to be honest I had to finish buffing it as he wanted it out of the shop but for the money I paid I still think they did a great job. But mine had very little rust and was mostly strip the old paint and spray. I suppose it boils down to how much rust is on your car and how stripped you can get it before it goes to the body shop as to what type of and how expensive a firm you need. Maybe get the rust areas sorted and primed by a restoration company and finished by a firm like MJA used
  8. Frustrating and unbelievable but too common a feeling for a Corrado owner.
  9. I’d wanted one for couple of years I’d definitely want a couple of thousand miles on it since all your work before I had it done and everyone is busy/expensive catching up after lockdown. There isn’t another person who cares as much as you about that car, as such even well meaning mechanics can catch the wing with a screw drive or open the door into a tool box never mind a bloody idiot.
  10. Had an insurance quote today. I must say anyone with a modified car talk to Brentacre they are great to deal with. I phoned them up to update the mileage figure they were showing, I did this because everyone knows what insurance companies are like when there is a claim. While I was on I said I’d like to change the agreed value as I’d had a respray and the values of these cars had gone up in general. I’m pretty modest on the value I think, it was at £10k and I told him it was more like £15k now. He went offline for 5 mins and when he came back said he manager said no problem and no increase in premium to pay. If anybody is interest for a 370 bhp Corrado, agreed value of £15k, with up to 5000 annual miles and with max no claims it’s £570. To some that maybe a lot, but this is no ordinary Corrado remember.
  11. Good shout or if not could be one of the two sensors that screw into the top of the oil filter housing, I had a temp sender leak badly once
  12. If it was me I’d patch the rust and have a year making sure all the running gear is all sorted before having bodywork done, if it gets damaged by the mechanics after bodywork because something has gone wrong, it will send you over the edge.
  13. Turns out it fits very well, I’d not put the hole for the seat belt in the right place. Fresh head doing the passenger side showed up my problem
  14. Yes got this direct from them in biscuit https://newtoncomm.co.uk/collections/corrado/products/vw-corrado-moulded-carpet-set-rhd Very interested in how it looks finished
  15. Fitted my new dab aerial and cables at last, which then allowed for the headliner and interior to go in after I partially fitted the new rear carpet which is shaped pretty good but the holes for the plastic sill covers don’t line up too well and some trimming is required maybe because of the extra underfelt kit but on the whole, it’s a good fit.
  16. Maybe that’s it then I wanted it to be an OEM. Have you got a link or phone number please.
  17. Two firms, one from Nottingham and the guy who’s firm put mine in local to me, they both said you can’t get blue anymore but I could have the green tinted banner. But thought that would look pap on a blue car.
  18. I asked but was told NLA. I still want one if someone get hold of one.
  19. I was told you can’t get the blue banner at the top only green banner or without.
  20. I haven’t fitted that one myself, but would have thought you are correct to locate the tab as described, I would have thought if it were tight you wouldn’t get any rubbing as there shouldn’t be any movement at that point it’s in between the two mounting surfaces that the movement should occur.
  21. Probably easiest and quickest to have a crap one recovered
  22. it’s these bits that are the problem they sit on the roof and the thing won’t sit right as it’s too high. I think I may try grinding them off and have another go next weekend
  23. Has anybody else tried one of these. It seems to have sticky out bits that stop it sitting flush with the roof.
