Interest for corrado models? (and other assorted goodies!)
G60ING posted a topic in General Car Chat
I was wondering what interest is there in Corrado models. I have sold them here in the usa for a while and my wife has sold them on ebay also. If there is enough interest I was thinking that we could arrange a group buy with all of the models going to one reputable member and from there he/she would dispatch them to the people who desired them. Here is what I have: Herpa 1:87 scale Its a Teal Green for $7. The mat's squares For referance are 1" blocks. The Teal Green Herpa are $7 each Herpa 1:87 scale The Red Herpa are $10: Darda aprox 1:50 scale They come in Red or Blue The Darda are $50: The Welly Models Only come in Silver or Green. The cost is $5 each. The doors and hatch open and they have a wind up motor. These models can be taken apart and repainted if one has the patience to do so. I painted one Red in about 2hrs the night that I first got them. I would include a corrado pin with orders over $20 like this: I also have Corrado Blue prints for $25each: This is not a forsale ad I just want to see if there is interest. If you would like to buy these in the future please list what items you would want. Then if there is enough interest I'll set it up with someone so that we can keep the shipping costs to a minimum -
I've only done a master cylinder on the transmission side of the car and I only had to remove the reservoir bottle and I had all the room nessecary. If you could please take some pics of it if its on the Driverside as I'd love to see the setup. I love tech photos

yuppers took more then 5minutes of work as I had to bring the wheels from a friend's shop and then had to lower the car to the right hiegth but it was worth the entertainment value of people saying how ugly it was

looks like you had the rear wiper shaved lokks good

Oh I know about the 1991-1992 pipes on a LHD g60 corrado as I had to install one to make the shift wieght fit on 1990 G60s

Hey now or I'll have to start talking my G60 beating just about all VRs that don't have FI. But the subies do have weak gear boxes but the awd just gives them so much off the line advantage that I won't mess around with one there. anything above 60 mph is where I think I might be able to take a modded wrx. I know my 2.5RS will dominate off the line but after 50-60mph I'll let off and hit the brakes if I'm playing around because after that the awd only helps eat HP. 35-45% is about right for drive train loss as I have a 190hp ar the crank and only get about 115 to the wheels. I actually hate driving around the wife's RS because its so slow and racey looking

I know that here in the usa we got different pipes on the 91-92 G60s and that is somebody wants to install metal pipes they need to get the 1990 rubber hoses to install the metal pipes from http://www.eurosportacc.com/load/?hiflo.htm if you have installed a shift wieght on you car from a VR6 Corrado or a vr6 passat the wieght will hit the pipes when shifted into 2,4 but it will not stop you from shifting into those gears. People have said that the pipes leak air around the CO pot and require 2 o-rings to be installed so that they are air tight.

I think I saw in an old D&W catalog a badgless G60 grill has anybody bought one? I like the newer gril but everybody does that here so I thought I'd say G60 and just clean it up a little

I would recomend a 260 cam then as this will help out the bottum end power the most.

Hey there Glad to hear you you have it under control. I've broken a few Drive shafts like that before so I now have 2 spares on the shelf. Here is a topic that explains a lot. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=646531 In the end new CV joints are best and rebuilt ones will fail. and then ther are BUILT DRIVESHAFTS: http://www.driveshaftshop.com/ I think I might have to buy some of the BUILT items soon

I've got Brembo drilled rotors and Metal Master pads. They have been on there for 70K Miles. I've had the rotors turned twice and they have only about 10K miles left on them. But the pads are not even worn half way yet. (when I turned the rotors I put the pads on a belt sander and resurfaced them too) Metal master pads are better when warmed up but I've never had any problems with them and I think I'll stay with this combo even after I mount some Wilwood calipers this Fall.

The oil temp sensor on a G60 is located on top of the oil filter flange and it is the smaller of the oil sensors there. Its the small brass one.

some are worth making happy and it revolves back to the Corrado as she supports me while I go to school and all corrado parts are paid for by her and then doing well in school will help me get a good job so I can buy more/afford to make morte go fast parts

actually Its 6:30am right now and I've been up since 4am so I could study for an economics exam today and so I could cook the wife some pancakes(get out of jail free card  ) before she heads out to work

Not sure where on a 16V. I actually thought you had a G60 because I didn't read your sig. But all cars(newer types) have a coolent senor for the ecu and this usually can cause some starting problems. On other VWs the sensor is blue and clips into a black plastic flange with a green clip. Here is a pic of where it is located on my G60 engine. Under the Blue plug is a blue coolant sensor that costs about $8USD so probably 4-5lbs

The VR6 Corrados had a shift wieght and this can be added to a G60 if you get the 1991-1992 Boost pipe(IC>TB) the wight has to be from a Vr6 passat or Corrado. It did not help my shifting when I installed it but then again I have the best shift Corrado G60 that I have ever driven. I did pick up a bit of 2nd gear syncro grind after installing the wieght. So I sold it to my friend and he loves it. It cleaned up his shifting by a lot and he did not suffer from and grinding.

sorry for all the pics it just that I don't post them much and its one that got away from me(but not to far)

I had a 1978 with an 1983 GTI engine. That car was a blast to drive. I almost got rid of all my tranny parts(quaife, VR6 gearing, lightened flywheel and some other misc parts) so I could buy a 1981 Scirocco S with a Callaway stage 3 Kit that was all original and in prime shape last year for $1500 but I decided I needed my tranny parts more and got a friend to buy it from my other friend and now I get to ride in it on sunny weekend days.

I have a charger with all the mods and I love it driving a stock G60 is like plain toast.

This is the list of 02A gear ratios I have compiled for USA cars and I had posted it on the vortex for siezure. If I remember correctly I'm at 130K miles and I bought my 1990 G60 back in 1995 with 55k miles.

8VG60: I bought an instrument cluster and was very pleased with buying from him. He supplied me pics before I sent him the money which gave me confidance. He also responded quickly to my emails. The packaging was very good. I'd definatly buy from him again. Thanks.
