It's never been used on the road and has only seen daylight for about a week so hasn't faded or been chipped at all. Catches are black plastic and fit where the original rubber adjusters are so can be fitted without drilling the slam panel. Fits to original hinges and bonnet stay hole is there too. Identical to this. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=corrado+carbon+bonnet&client=safari&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=fkARUsTrM-XI0AW-lYEg&ved=0CDoQsAQ&biw=768&bih=928#biv=i%7C1%3Bd%7C9kGwvo7wVK2doM%3A

I have just about a full mk4 4motion loom and ECU. It's already bee de immobilised. Could you give me a rough idea how much the TB controller was? Is it a standalone device or does it have to be run with the DTA? I have Autronic SM4, which doesn't have DBW control so just after an independant controller to use on a mk5 r32 pedal.

Ban was lifted years ago, I just haven't done much Corrado related for years so not had much to say!

Hi Jim, They're the same projects! Wasted a year setting up a unit and doing my back in. Seriously limited with the amount of work I can do these days. Couple of hours a day max and I'm ruined :-( Docs advised me to pack I working on cars. Took his advise and worked on my can and bike instead, still hurts so figured I might as well do cars too :-) Will sort out some pics for a build thread as I'd like the car out to play before this season ends. I know it won't be to everyone's tastes but hopefully people can benefit from the odd bit of technical innovation I sometimes devise.

Kev Long time no chat! I have a harness and ECU setup. Interested in you throttle body controller setup if you're selling that separate to the DTA? If not could you point me in the right direction for one as I can't see it on their website.

Still here, lurking, still got corrado's in my system. The old fully caged dark burgundy 8v shell is STILL sat in the garage, haven't really touched it for 4 years :-( Bought a classic VR6 off Renshaw a couple of years ago, blew the VR6 up but stil managed to get a 13.34@107 out of it. Bought a white unfinished 20v one but it was a dog and too much work to bother finishing so got rid of that. Green one currently sat at the back of my unit. R32 engine, Vortech V9, chargecooled, nitrous, stripped out, floor mounted Tilton pedal box, Quaife 6 speed dog box, VW Motorsport shifter, Autronic SM4 with CDI coils, samcos, carbon bonnet, KW clubsports, etc etc Will get round to making it run when my back lets me. Thought I'd say hi again as got a few Corrado bits to advertise and a few people on ere I need to quiz. Cheers Paul

Location: York Price: 1000.00 GBP Date added to Classifieds: 29th Jan 2012 Description: I bought it last year off eBay as an unfinished project. The previous owner had removed the old 16v engine and replaced it with a 180BHP SEAT LEON 1.8 20v turbo engine. He had unsucessfully tried to get the car running on Megasquirt engine management then had to give up on the project due to a child arriving in the faimly. The engine bay wiring was a complete mess so I removed it all along with the Megasquirt. I have since bought a Mk4 Golf GTI ECU, clocks, key and engine loom, which I have had professionally converted to plug and play. It has all the correct Corrado connectors on the end and will plug straight into the fuseboard. The clocks and key all match the ECU but I have had the immobiliser defeated anyway should you wish to retain the Corrado clocks. The engine already had a cable throttle body on it, I'm not sure if the coil packs are the correct type for the ECU or if there's a MAF in there either. The ecu is off a 150BHP model so would benefit from a remap to get the monst out of the bigger turbo'd engine. I cannot vouch in any way for the standard of the work done on the car, I haven't checked it over or touched it other than to remove the engine wiring loom. If anything the engine bay is a bit of a mess and requires a damn good tidy up. The wiring is basically done and easy to fit and the boost and coolant system needs piping up (some hoses included). The engine itself is all mounted up, with the gearbox on and shafts connected (new clutch I was told). The car also has a huge alloy front mounted intercooler fitted. I would recommend the buyer to re-check absolutely everything themselves and would only recommend a competant mechanic carry out the rest of the conversion as well as checking over everything that's been changed. The 15" OZ Polaris replica alloys are included also. 256mm brakes. Car obviously not taxed or MOT'd. It also appears to have a stainless exhaust, no down pipe. Coilover suspension of unknown brand is fitted and included. They've been well greased and look fairly new The interior is the standard grey cloth, and someone has fitted some uttelry hideous white vinyl covers to them so it loks like leather. The drivers seat cover is damaged where I ripped it off. The interior is also full of boxes of other spare parts which may or may not be needed to finished the car off. Bodywork wise, unfortunately it's a non sunroof shell but someone has fitted a glass aftermarket sunroof. There is slight rusting on the door bottoms and around the fuel filler cap. The grille is missing. The wind deflectors on the doors are not included with the car. Also unfortunate is that my unit got burgled last year and the keys to the car were taken in the raid. I had to move the car to safety quickly so had no choice but to smash the steering lock off so I could steer the car. This had damaged the column and clock surround, possibly the column too. I have other Corrado's so can supply you with another lock set (by negotiation as it's still attached to my car) The car is currently strapped to my trailer. For that reason I will offer to deliver the car for £1 a mile (from YO41) Shame to see it go as it would make a good road or track car, I just don't have the time or space. Pics later, my battery is dying. £1000ono YORK

Zero toe or slight toe out for better steering response. I'd only run 1° camber on the road, up to 4° on track. And I would certainly recommend adjustable or eccentric top mounts and more castor if you are even thinking about track use. -
I bought it on the release day...only played it 3 times since. Was inititally massively dissapointed. But a few tweaks with the steering settings (I set it to power steering on, professional) and it felt more natural than the default setting. I also had to alter the TV, as it was set in vivid colour mode and made the game look like Ridge Racer. So now it looks and plays better, but it's still a tragic let down for me, it's just GT4 with loads and loads and loads of pointless cars I'll never want to drive. 5 years wasted it would seem. They must have had a blank cheque off Sony I reckon.

I didn't realise ICI still existed!? When I had my Mk2 golf done many years ago the guy used Akzo Nobel paint by Sikkens. Very expensive, but awesome stuff.

I bought a Pace Products core (600x300x40) off ebay. was only £30, instea dof like £200, and got a mate to make up the end tanks to my design. Loads of Godspeed ones on ebay, never seen one close up to know if they're any good or not. The postage costs are pretty steep too...

Info on the old VR6 setup. Turns out the direct port nitrous was a huge FAIL. Where I'd put the fogggers caused 2 problems. One being them going through my brand new alloy raditor....the other being the rear bank not getting any fuel from the foggers. This meant on the hotter days it was running crazy lean. On inspection the head was cracked in 2 places. HAd to hone the block out,fit new pistons and bearings and a new head, with new botls and seals. Sold the entire VR6 setup now. Literally stripped the car of everything. Time to move on to newer technlogy.

change of plans. I was going to build up this car using as much as possible out of the A3. With the view of selling it on at the end of next season. Then I realised it needs to much to make it into a sellable car, and it's totally defeating the objective of why it was bought, as a test bed. so going back to basics, Still with a 3.2, but with the quaife box again. No point in going DSG really. Going to install the full loom from the A3 then gradually strip out unsed sections bit by bit. Thinking of using the aircon as it gets roasting hot inside a track car in the summer and you just can't concentrate on driving if you're too busy sweating.... Not going to go 4wd either, again, no point, wasted labour. I need to concentrate ont he task in hand and not do any work that isn't going to be wasted. i.e. it all has to be transerable to the caged shell eventually.

The Official Corrado Campaign thread (where are they now)
PhatVR6 replied to James.'s topic in General Car Chat
Only ever seen one and it was a right dogs dinner of a car, every panel had been painted, badly.
