the brakes are on my mk4 at the mo. so good I crashed it! I boiled the brake fluid, it just couldn't handle it. haven't touched the corrado since it came back. need to get the bike finished and out of the garage shaprish (TT in 3 weeks time!!!) once I'm back the work will contivue (slowly) with the corrado.

just take the risk and drive it. it'll still be registered int heir name anyway and there' sod all chance of you getting caught by anything other than a camera. can't rememebr the last time I saw a traffic cop patrolling the motorway

buy the 17"s and fit some proper brakes. APs being an excellent choice. 280's are a joke on the road never mind the track. I'd take a safe bet that most people on here have never driven on a track anyway so what would they know....

excellent it was destined to be 4wd. the rear chassis legs even have dents in them to clear the driveshafts.

Sorry, got no pics, I was too busy driving/repairing/crashing my car for that. there was a G60 turbo, in what I think was bordeux red. looked rapid, brakes made a racket! a very loud and low black g60 and a yellow one with a funny looking front bumper. anyone off here?

Would probably be the same price, but it wouldn't take them as long.

New brakes trial fitted. Testing them out on the Mk4 tomorrow at Croft Circuit. 355x28 Alcon 4 pots with floating rotors. truly amazed that they fit under 17"s!

I've got a set if you need any measurements.

all that shiny ally is in danger of being bling.... -
Well, cage is finished. I say finished but I still want to add a dash bar and brace that through to the front strut brace, and I guess the seat rails will also be classed as cage, they will be fitted later. Also, I'm still not 100% happy about not going for for another cross brace in the rear. Spent the money on the roof diagonal and the front strut brace instead, x-brace was placed in the hoop as that's the new FIA rules apparently. Proper trailer with brakes this time! Many thanks to Matthew at Graham Edwards Trailers for the loan of it. The country did well to pull it. Front strut brace is a bit too tight on the wiper mechanism. might have to massage something a little to get it to work Dash still fits nice Paintwork wasn't as bad as I thought after a polish. a few new dings in it though but they can't really be avoided. Nice little plaque Time to get stuck in and get the inside ready for more work and some paint.

I know a lad who's had a ride in a 7.5 second car. he said it was the single most horrific experience in his life. Siad he just wanted to get out of the car all the way down. utterly terrifying, like someone was beating his whole body at the same time. great! would love a go, but not for £500

looks like a micro machine

a mate of mine runs a ITR. had an oldish one as a track day toy, just imported a newer one. had his missus red corrado 16v for sale on here a while ago, real minter. dirves a golf tdi as a daily. I'm hoping to take him round croft in the mk4 to see what he thinks. last time I was at curborough I got taken out in a ITR, driven my a girl who's actually a racing driver. my mk4 was quicker (with the 2.8 in it)!

get the dremel out and cut a bit of the bonnet away (neatly)
-
well, I'm doing you guys a favour. Now they have the patterns and dimensions they can make corrado cages a hell of a lot quicker (and possibly cheaper!) there will actually be an identical cage to mine but in CDS. all the bits they used as test peices until they got it to fit right. migth see if I can buy the bits off them if anyone wants them for the basis of a cage?
-
my mk4 is about 5mm out of the top pic. forgot to take some pics there, cool location with the finish line in the shot.

I was meant to pick the car up today but the cage still isn't finished. Latest updates. This is how tight the front bars are on the A pillars, actually touching. Neatly through the bulkhead Passenger side almost done Front shot Passenger side door bars. Deliberately kept low for easier access and to go under the dash. Through bulkhead viewed from the engine bay Full frontal Windscreen bar, I can't believe how neat they've got that. It's fair to say I'm extremely pleased with the job so far. Can't wait to see it all fully welded in. Ready for collection next saturday :-)
