  1. Do you know where your gearbox code is? it's on top of the box, near the front, right where the gearbox casing ends, and the bell housing starts. it'll be 3 letters, then some numbers. Tell me the letters, i'll tell you the ratios. At a guess, I'd say it's AGC.
  2. 1) won't matter on a RR 2) they'll go mental if they spot it and you get grease everywhere 3)don't even consider RR ing it without fixing this. 4) or this 5) it'll jump off the rollers and possibly kill somone if it's not strapped down right. It's not ready for the rollers. Don't take it anywhere near them until you've fixed it. Hell, I wouldn't even drive it on the road in that state!
  3. They are in very good nick, unfortunately, they'll be going on my mk2 vr6 when I sell it.
  4. Sounds to me like you have alow final drive, maybe a 3.94 like mine. which is great for a revvy ening, but not so goood if you can only do 5500rpm. Try swapping in a 3.3 final drive out of a VR6, or go for the proper g60 3.6 one. or just change gear earlier and ride the torque instead of revving it.
  5. Have you tried removing the upper tensioner and bleeding it?
  6. Someone reffered to my wheels last night as looking like:- "Ronal Teddies...with meningitis" And they do! Thing is, i've got loads of wheels, but nothing decent in 4 stud with tyres! typical..
  7. Leaving Woodall at 9:30 you say? I should be able to drum up a few for that.
  8. ***MOD EDIT*** Link Removed due to graphic content. Thats why i never posted the link. i remomend people try a search on google.de for D&W

Curborough was £15 on the national day, £25 last time. I think Kames was about £25 too. Bargain! best fun I've ever had in a car.
  10. Me too, but they are split rims, so not much room for big calipers.
  11. Don't you need to run 17"s with the 5 stud setup?
  12. I thought Mystic blue was a Storm only colour? you couldn't get it in 1992 anyway. Still, looks tidy!

Well, I came 3rd at the ClubGTI Scottish National day up at Kames in Muirkirk, and ran 4th fastest time at Curborough last weekend, not too far off Bill Brockbanks times either, only a second or so (if that's what you meant?) so it's no slouch, and there's nothing wrong with the handling, it just has too much torque to put through 2 wheels at low speeds. I don't think my mate has a fancy diff, it's a stock 02J gearbox I think. I ran a 13.75@98mph, with a 2.034 60' time. I think his best time of the day was a 13.5 or thereabouts. But my mates ran a 13.4 in a NA 2.0 16v mk2 scirocco.....
  14. Easily one of the best colours out there, that's why I went all the way to cardiff for it, from York!! as for sunroof, mine isn't a passat one, it's made by a dutch firm called Hollandia Sunroofs, they're part of the Webasto company. It was fitted 2 weeks before the car was registered! At first I was gutted that they'd taken a non sunroof shell and cut a hole in it (especially after seeing how old mk1's with cheap sunroofs rot). but after having a good look at it, I reckon it's better than the VW one! and it has one touch operation and a chromolux panel! it's 2" bigger than the stock one too, I love it! yes, it is very clean, and so it should be, I spent 4 hours on sunday jet washing everything in sight and polishing it before I took those pics (shame it'd gone dark nearly) I'll have to take some pics in the arches and underneath, it's gleaming I don't think the engine bay had EVER been washed, luckily all the oil has kept everything as good as new save for a bit of paint coming off the rocker cover. I love this car, I'm keeping it forever! it's SOOO much better than any of the other VW's I've owned.

I know, I've got one, well, it's a Peloquin, the US equivalent, but I can still smoke both front wheels in 2nd gear when exiting a corner, with only 207BHP and it'll chrip going into 3rd too. I raced my mate at York Dragway, he's got a 280BHP 1.8T mk2. I beat him for 95% of the track, he only passed me by a cars length.....
  16. LC3U I've only ever seen one Corrado this colour, but it was a LHD G60. I spotted from your avatar that yours was possibly the same colour. I wasn't keen on the idea of the grey interior, but I love it now I've got it. check out the fitted from new glass sunroof too!
  17. I've got a set of 15" Le Castellets at home. I half considered fitting them on the C yeterday (instead of those awful 5 spokes) but didn't think it'd look right. Then I saw yours and now I'm kicking myself for not doing it!
  18. Are you the same "scruffydubber" who just won my G60 lump off eBay?

To quote Jeremey Clarkson on Top Gear last night. Roughly "A senior engineer at SAAB once told be that 220BHP is the absolute maximum for a FWD car" I can't help but agree.
  20. dON'T FORGET THOS LOVERLY SEAMS IN THE BOOT FLOOR......
  21. ah, here we go Ok, maybe I should have taken it around the block first to let the suspension settle, it doesn't look too low here. It worked out at 50mm lower on the front 35mm at the rear. Hsould have been a 60mm lowering kit! Long exposure+wobbly hand=kinda freaky, but also pretty cool pic This one really shows the colour and the gloss of the paint. More Glossy shots And another blurry one of the trim to finish.
  22. Looking good, apart from that ridiculously long flexi hose! sort it out.
  23. oh no you won't! hehehe glad to hear you fixed it. Oh look, new pics! ah, f*ck, they don't work.........hang on
  24. Or just take some cash to Utterly Veedubberly on the 16th, it's choka with traders.
  25. Try Greg Howell from Southam Bodies. a load of my mates use him and say he's superb, and after seeing Greg's own car I can only agree. It's the same fella doing the flatting and buffing on the golf in this months The Golf magazine.
