  1. For me, I've always wanted one, but had to setlle for a mk2 as I couldn't afford a Corrado VR6 (they were £15K back then). Through time, I ended up fitting a Corrado engine, brakes, dash, seats, centre console, one touch windows etc into my golf, and I even got eccentirc top mounts so I could se the geometry the same. As time went by, prices dropped, and I gradually got sick of the golf. So I decided to look for a Corrado, and realised how cheap they'd become! by wating a few years I'd saved myself £10K and once I stick the VR6 in my corrado I'll be well happy. :D
  2. It comes on constantly if I do that. Never mind, I think I have to bypass the timer circuit anyway when I fit my new alarm. Cheers.
  3. I would if you didn't live in Reading! Back on the topic, I'll take some pics when I'm doing the upper tensioner and stuff, and show you that the lower tensioner hardly wears at all.
  4. Well I do everything myself anyway, so fitting cost never come into it. £36 an hour!!! you must be mental, how do you afford to runa VR6 with labour charges like that!!! As for garages, I build my whole car in the driveway! i'll be doing a gearbox swap and timing chains on the drive tomorrow too. See what you're saying about the badge, but at the end of the day, it's just a badge...just like my gearbox, it's made my Gemini 'for' VW Motorsport.
  5. regular, not flickering, it's definitely a controlled, timed flash.
  6. The 'real thing'??? It's made my Peirburg, not VW, it's just as aftermarket as the Schrick one (which incidentally is identical, save for the higher flowing, equalised length runners). You can still buy the Schrick one new (not that you'd want to at the price). I've got 268 cams, not schricks, but they were only £80, and I only paid £430 for the Schrick.
  7. WTF??? when I turn off the ignition the courtesy light flashes on an off, even after I've got out of the car and shut the door?!? I've just had to resort to turning the thing off. Alarm problem?
  8. why would you prefer the VSR?? you'd be paying more money for something that doesn't actually flow as well.

    My Gemini ones are 1st 3.3:1 (stock) 2nd 1.94:1 (stock) 3rd 1.5:1 4th 1.2:1 5th 0.95:1 6th 0.75:1 (which I order specially) I'm running a 3.94:1 final drive (ring and pinion). Stock 2.8 VR6 Golf is 3.3:1, stock Corrado VR6 is 3.6:1, which I think the G60 alos shares, but I'm not 100% certain on that.
  10. If you have a VR6, you NEED a Shrick VGI. If you've never experienced a VR6 with one fitted, then I suggest you do as soon as you can. The low down torque is fantastic. They should have been like it from the factory.

There's a few first called Motec and Motech. I need to know if it's the ones who make the exhausts.

Awesome, can't wait to see it. Are you going to be debuting it at a show? or a track or whatever?
  16. So true, iv'e gone form a modified VR6, to a 2.0 8v, and I still love it. That's how good the corrado is to drive. I really can't praise them enough. Just don't tell everyone how good they are....they'll all want one! let skeep them to ourselves eh?

They both also know how to charge a fortune for a bit of pipe.....anywhere cheaper?
  18. Hi, I have a friend after one of these. Can anyone recommend a good supplier? My mate bought a VR6 one of off motec or motech or someone, they always have a red stand, at car shows. Anyone got any details for them? It's for a 1990 G60.
  19. Well, I paid just over £3000 for mine, but it's mint, and it took a lot of finding, and a 500mile round trip to get, not to mention 3 weeks of looking at sh1te cars. I don't intend to sell it for quite some time.....I love it to bits now, even as standard, and it's only going to get better with time.

I duuno about better alignment, not when yo've cut out the rear cross member where the seat belts bolt in! that's why I left that bit in, no need to cut it out, then weld it back in (and swapping your corrado seat mounts over too :? you're just compromising the alignment of the shell and making uneccessary work for yourself. Oh well, it's all done now, and it looks GOOD! :D How for off being on the road in 4wd form is it?

    6-speed Box

I've got a Gemini 6 speed. I was £1366+VAT for the gearkit, and worth every penny. the car accelerates hard as hell, even in 5th, it feels like it's got another 50BHP. although a lot of this is down to the lower final drive too.

    steamy windows

Mines leaking too, the carpet is damp down the sill side of the drivers floor mat. I shall investigate...

Awesome work on the floorpan there. ALthough, after doing a conversion myslef, I can't help but wonder why you cut out all the rear seat area too, when it's only the boot floor you need to change? any reason for that?
