Always liked them mate. There is one one on ebay for £8000. They remind me of an old Scimitar and they were wacky too

The 6 pot sound is a great noise. I was wondering how much hassle, work and cost it would be to add a supercharger to one, as I think the VR noise with a charger whine would be great. Any experts out there for a suggestion.
3. Bloody hell. Have been on a few forums and it tends to be used by arseholes that make sarky comments to each other and make you wish you didn't bother. But to be honest I thought we were all the same on here. ie like minded people trying to help each other out. Can we ban the little **** from here. Either that or could all be mature and start joining him to any rubbish postal things we can from erection problem panflets to expensive plate clubs
4. Ok. If it does not go with leather let me know bud
5. Have you a heated loom and switch for sale seperatly.
6. Have you tried pricing them up at euro car parts. Theirs will be Bosch and may be much cheaper. I also have a trade account there so I could always get them cheaper and post to you.
7. Someone is bound to say otherwise but I just disconnect the battery and leave for a few minutes then carry on. Did this on my last few VW projects and had no issues at all. Saying that my ABS light likes to light up half the time and has done since before the welding.
8. My thoughts exactly. Say you we're buying it from the chap that completed all the work no issues. Prob on this forum and knows his stuff. But as you say bought then let it sit ??? Just wondered what's happened to it in the meantime.
9. Car looks great mate. Like under the bonnet. Might be worth looking at KW v1 for suspension as well as they are very good kit
10. Seems over priced tbf. A very very nice looking example before anyone tells me off mind. But mines had a full respray, full leather added, wheels and suspension etc when it was rebuilt and it worth what.... £3500-4000 max. Take that and put a supercharger on it then your nearly there anyway for a lot less. I have seen Golf mk2 Rallye for less.
11. Sorry Mr Bacon. I should have said in comparison to the cars we use at work. It's a BMW 5 series with 3.0 petrol and weighs in at 2.2 tonnes to me the raddo feels light like a go cart.
12. That and the fact it's a big engine in a light car so once your up to speed you won't use much to keep it going unless you press the loud pedal.
13. Not sure the oak green would work on a raddo. I love the colour but it tends to look a bit scrubby even when clean unless on a bright day. Think the most important part with the Helios is to get some smart wheels and make sure they are silver or polished to show the blue off
14. This is a great thread and I am sure will help lots of us. I appear to be one of the lucky ones whose spoiler works fine. Is worth touching it at all to clean or am I better off leaving it alone.
15. I was the same as you mate. When I painted mine I did it myself but was so tempted to change colour but the amount of work to do it properly is huge and I would have ended up never getting it done. Helios blue is a good colour it just looks a little dull when dirty. I had a golf mk2 Helios which I resprayed a few years ago and when it was clean it looked great
16. It's pain but yes tax mot and insurance. There are ways round it. For example if you get it insured or have a cover that will allow you to drive another car that's not insured. Not many companies use that loophole anymore. You could book an mot the take it there and get away with no tax or mot. But if its not driveable it won't pass and mot and then it's false economy. If you tow it you don't have to use a fixed bar as long as you don't go on motorways. Best to get a transporter hire unless you know someone with a trailer. Have a look on eBay for car transporter. There are loads over the country. Example : one company charges £40 for first 15 miles then £1.20 for every mile after that so you know what it's tonne cost you in advance.
17. I always copper grease them too and on piston face as it aids protection
18. I thought they were a cover for the anti squeak pad and it peels off prior to instation. Should almost fall off leaving the anti squeak beneath.
19. I don't know if they have silly mark up. I know the guy on my local VW parts desk and I can check the price with him if you want. I know it's the drop links your after just need your reg. if you don't want to post it on here PM me and I will bell him tomorrow. Out of interest did you try VW heritage to see if they stock it.
20. My god how do they come up with that price for those little links.
21. It's a shame to slate euro parts. Yes their pattern stuff is rubbish and should be avoided but their OE quality stuff is brill Bosch etc, good German quality.
22. Going back to original question. You could try main dealer for one. Use it then sell it on here as I am sure there would be a taker. When you change it get a genuine bush or they will fail in no time at all. Or a polly mount. If you get an original bush you will need the tool. If you fit a polly bush you don't need it. You grease it and pop it in without the tool I bet by saying this I will launch another discussion about genuine and polly. So here goes .......
23. Sorry mate presumed they would stock both like vr6. Should have mentioned that's what I have. If you can't get OE from anywhere else go main dealer. I know it costs more but they will last. I did hear that powerflex make a drop link but just checked their website and cant find one listed, that might be worth a phone call.
24. Euro car parts will do two sorts a cheaper one and an OE one. Get the OE and it will be fine and cheaper than VW.
