Elegant looking car. I'm going to do the rear brakes this coming spring. What does it involve to do the aluminium calipers Mk. IV etc? Cheers, Redfox.

Thanks a lot for showing. I must be wrong then. Hmm, maybe someone else did the trick. Do you know when Karmann changed the sign? Cheers, Redfox.

Hi all, Desperately looking for a set of new or used inside early door handles in leather. Must be original. I'll pay you good money for those ;) I mean that. Cheers, Redfox.

Took my Recaros out and cut them to pieces with an angle grinder. You know, the american way ;) ;) ;) Took them out for a rebuild with some nice extra features. More later as I get the parts. Cheers, Redfox.

ha ha, well I think we all have the same thing - a prolonged list of to do things. Sure, the early bonnet i more elegant ans sporty, as the areas covering the wheel arches are raised, and the engine section is lowered. Just how it shoud be on a sports car. Nothelle, borrowed from the site (hopefully accepted): Cheers, Redfox ;)

Many wants the later bonnet as it looks more mean and may indicate a vr6... BBS are great wheels. Super quality, except the RM's which are fragile and easily destroys the threads when tightening bolts to assemble them with. I know, I had them... ;) RS's far better, stronger, lighter, nocer, thinner cross patern and so on. True that many use them and they are getting more expensive these days. But really, it's only on meetings that I ever saw any. Daily driving in car, motorcycle, bus, train, bicycle, never saw any nice BBS's For my Corrado, I looked at a little more modern set of wheels, the BBS RC 323, ball polished, very very light. They do go white and ugle if they see as little as ½ drop of rain... ;( So take care of them. I also have a set of BBS RS in 16" by 7" which I am going to refurb. Will look supreme ;) So, my advice take the wheels that YOU like, no matter how many other people use similar. On a second note, the Nothelle are seriously good looking, and I would really really really really really like a set on my Corrado. Ball is open to other suggestions ;) G60Jack, you should be able to find a nice early bonnet, keep it in the barn, and paint it together with the storechipped front fenter after your first season of driving ;) Cheers, Redfox.

I'd say early, but a guess. Personally I prefer the early bonnet, as it lowers. But each to his own of course. G60Jack: do yourself a favour and ditch the K&N panelfilter. They clog up and let very fine dirt into your G-lader, and sand it to bits. I took mine out soon after I bought it. Have a normal paperfilter now. 178 Bhp standard. Just my twocents. Does your exhaust hit your rear beam after lowering it? Riley, I prefer early ones. Many nicer details. The perfect front grille would be an early badgeless one! Think I saw one somewhere... ? Cheers, Redfox.

Red Corrado's are good, G60 is better, big wheels are great and old style front grille is super! Nice car. Cheers, Redfox.

I think this situation is all over the ec. That is what we get from being member of the ec. Everything seems to be faling apart. Everyone looses except the politicians... My statement here is not a political one, just a real world look upon what's going on. Hope you will get is sorted with propper payment from the responsible authority. Actually your shell should be measured in a gig to ensure it's not bent or out of shape. Best of luck, Redfox.

My Corrado is doing well ;) It's been put away long ago. And while sleeping, I managed to rip it's seats out for some modding ;) Cheers, Redfox.

An update. Today I decided I would kill the rest of the bmw seats, so took them completely apart, and then took a deep breath and slaughtered my Corrado Recaro's. The Corrado now looks like this: Here I look at how small the side bolster of the original Corrado Recaro is in reality. Very small and not enough supportive: Here I have take off the head rest, and testfitted the bmw Recaro cloth over the leather. Since it's not stuffed out by foam, in real life the bolsters will be bigger: And from another angle to evaluate the idea: Here I have taken off the back rest pillow to expose the hooks that the bolster's wire cling on to: Close up of the wiresystem. I just open the hooks slightly with a flat screwdriver: Next, I take a look at the positioning and the metal support for the bolsters, which clearly looks very small: Then I cut off the supports from the bmw Recaro frames: And then I compare the two. A clear difference in size. And as you all know, size matters;) : Here's a picture of the difference between the bolster foams themselves. Quite a difference. And just as important, the bmw Recaro foam is much harder and more firm than the Corrado Recaro foam: And finally, here's a picture of a loose testfit. The foam will have to be cut for the back rest motor. Further more the thickness of the bolster is also greater, so the driver and passenger will be held more firmly in the seats: If one compare this with the earlier picture of the original Corrado Recaro foam fitted, there's an immediate difference for the better ;) Then the day had passed, and I got hungry. So off to do something else. More later, Redfox ;)

Corrado Carbon Fibre Bonnets - Group Buy - LWS Design
Redfox replied to Andrew_LWSDesign's topic in Parts for Sale
Hi, May I ask if it's the late or early bonnet that you fabricate in carbon? (would like to buy an early one). Cheers, Redfox. -
As I would really like these, I'll pay a good price for a set of these, if someone have a set or know where to buy them. Thanks, Redfox.

Good job! Cheers, Redfox.

Your Corrado looks soooooo great in this picture. Absolutely stunning AND mean ;) Great change in BBS wheels as the normal BBS RS. Cheers, Redfox.

Does anyone know if bmw Recaro leather can be bought to cover these foams? Or does anyone know if Golf II Recaro leather covers can be bought and if they fit? Much appreciated ;) Cheers, Redfox ;)

All right, Spent the afternoon taking my beemer Recaro's apart with Pauls great guidance in mind. Here's what I'' try to take some parts from: First I took the seat bases off undoing the 6 unbrako bolts: Here's the seperated seat back after taking the side covers and pinns off: Here's a pic of the bask rest pillow off. One can see the hooks off and I still need to undo the wire from the hooks at the top. The plastic list at the bottom, slide off sideways: The I take off the wires all the way around the inside of the seat back cloth. They are fastened in some small hooks, that needs to be bent slightlt with a flat screwdriver. Real easy: The head rest is different on the b,w Recaro's, but still fastened same way, with a big locking clip at the top behind the foam. I just used a set of pliers to undo. Then it's time to unwrap the cloth: Here's a picture of what it looks like underneath the cloth: On top of seat back, on the rear side, the foam is glued. I just used a sharp knife to "push" off the foam, not to destroy it: Finally here's the seat foam freed from seat back, ready to use on my project. More to follow. Cheers, Redfox.

No no, it's absoloutely great, so I just came in from the garage, where I spent the afternoon taking my bmw Recaro's apart, so they can be used for further projects. I didn't have time/heat to take a Recaro out of the Corrado, so that will have to wait a bit. Next is that I NEED a leather cover for the two backrests from the bmw Recaro's and fit it to my other Recaro's, as the covers are too small. I prefer original leather/nappa stuff, and a leather smith here in my country is very very costly, unfortunately. I only took the seat bases off, the seat backs off, and the cloth and foam off the seat backs. So seat bases will have to wait till' another day. Your guidance helped a lot! Thanks. Cheers, Redfox ;)

I second that. Thanks a ton. Cheers, Redfox.

Tanks guys, The Corrado was born as a Jet model, so it came with the red and Black interrior. They did not only come in black/red, but also black/black and black/purple, together with a Jet sticker beneath the rear side windows, plus the flat rear bench, and a silver stripe on the steering wheel, together with Corrado scripture on the door sils. Then i got a blue and black with the armest for the rearseats, but then in the meantime, I finally bought a torn and ugly Recaro leather interrior in Grey, so I renovated that last January. I have some plans as to modifify the Recaro seats to support better, like the golf Mk. II Recaro seats. For now I installed an inflatable cushion from Recaro bmw seats. Cheers, Redfox.

Okay, here's another video, which is actually the first of the ones I've put on the net. Took 3 hours to upload... Sorry for not speaking English on this one either. Will do on future ones next season. Cheers, Redfox.

Hello Guys, Thanks for the nice comments. So here's another little video, this time rolling. Shot last summer. Sorry for not speaking english this time (just forgot to do it), so I inserted a few comments. Basically I changed track arms, bushes, arb's, the lot. Quite sharp handleing. More videos on it's way. Cheers, Redfox.

Hi all, Have a project on some Recaro seats. I looked a bit on them, and managed to take the backrest from the seat, and off came the seat base also. But I cannot seem to take it all apart from there. I need to change one foam in the outer seat, and the big foam/bolster on the seat back. Are there anyone who can explain it to me in details and maybe pics. I understand that there are some hooks etc, that one have to be carefull with for example, but have no idea how to do it. And I really don't want to spoil anything. Please help ;) Cheers, Redfox.
