Hmm, had the same thoughts, but decided to keep the Corrado G60, and went out and bought a Esprit Turbo SE. Really fast car and much more exotic than a Porsche, though I did think of going 911 from 1982 with wide body for some years. The Esprit drives so much better, and cheap parts (more or less). So my Corrado G60 is the car that makes a cheaper Insurance on the Esprit, though none will ever bea daily driver. I use a bicycle ;) Keep it, I'd say. Kind regards, Jacques.

OOOoooohhhh, very sad indeed :shrug: I wish you the best with your new Golf. I've had a golf for many years, and it had to give way for my Corrado, of which I am very satisfied, though it makes nagging sounds from the interrior all over. In this respect, you'll get very plesantly surprised, as you can hear..... well.... :shrug: Nothing. There's nothing. No sounds. Admit it: wou'll miss it, and soon revert to Corrado's ;) I've attacked the problem in a bit different manner, as I've just bought a Lotus Esprit Turbo SE. No interrior sounds, just a howl from the engine. But the Corrado? No way, it stays! Hope to see you back here soon. Best of wishes, Redfox.

As far as I know, the fitment of switches is similar, but late dash is different regarding the ashtray and extra instrumentation. Don't know if mounting of the dash itself is the same, but I think so. Don't hang me for it though.... ;) I think it should be possible to fit for example late wiper arms to early model etc. I'll try that myself later on. Why not have it covered in say leather or alcantara? Or maybe originality is the word? Cheers, Redfox.

Okay, so now that I've got new rear brakes, I need propper pads, so Ferrodo was chosen, and these don't squeal and brake hard from start and also when hot: [ATTACH=CONFIG]75250[/ATTACH] and this: [ATTACH=CONFIG]75251[/ATTACH] and this: [ATTACH=CONFIG]75252[/ATTACH] Not that you can see much when installed, but color is nothing, braking is good, both hot and cold. Dust is more than promised. Then I finally got really tired of the crappy stainless exhaust system I installed last year, so I called a friend who is well at home on this as he do it for a living (tuning and building exhausts), and he modified to sit nicely, sit 1,5" higher, and also with no stress on the exhaust rubbers. Finally he took off the old cat, cut the end odd and welded it to a new stainless 400 cell 3" sportscat. It was really flat to drive the first few houndres kilometers, but surely it's faster now, so time for a rolling session soon. It's a bit louder, but nothing instrusive, and the acceleration got a boost for sure. Fuel is unsure at the moment, but I'll get back on that later too. A couple of days ago I was out getting parts for my brake renewal, and the guy selling the spares told me, that he is a big fan of the Corrado, mostly the G60 ;) Had a talk about the model, and drove back with a smile. Had the rear tires changed today and the guy said he is mad about bmw's (his own) and Corrado G60'ies. Lol. Then he not only changed my tires, but also very accurately measured my BBS wheels to see if they were radial and straight - which they are ;) He said those wheels are very very well made. No extra charge. He even did all of this one hour after closing time. Well chuffed ;) Mmmmm, new tires, such a pleasure to drive with. Cheers, Redfox.

Very nice looking Corrado, and even though I am normally not a fan of bigger stereo's than original in cars, I must say, that your mini sub looks great and will not harm the cars look. Great addition. Here's apicture of the nasty rusty bracket that holds the plastic cover for the generator. One like that in stainless is a high on my wishlist. Maybe someone feel like making a few and sell them? The etka part number for the whole thing is 191 903 091C, but the bracket itself is 191 903 091A. This is the 65Ah generator cover. Time for a small update. I been a bit worried for the longevity of the various v-belt, belt for the g-lader etc. So I took the opportunity to change them all and the little shock absorber for the g-lader as well. Some sound have dissapered and the engine seems to run a bit smoother and a bit more calm. Asnyway, peace of mind for the next many km's. After taking the old ones off, I inspected them all, and found the inside to be worn, more than visible from outside. For example the belt for the powersteering was knackered, cracked many places on the inside, and a bit long as well. The little rib belt inside the g-lader is now a 9mm model, so it's a bit wider than standard, for peace of mind. It fit's the original wheels, so no need to change them. the shock absorber worked fine, but the new one is surely harder, and the interval is on time, so new parts on ;) Brakes are to be renewed soon, so more later. Had a funny one: An elderly couple walks by me waxing a bit the Corrado, and they say: That is by far the best looking car in the street. Me: Oh thanks. Now if only it wasn't such a short street... A while later, while still waxing the Corrado, a former neighbour passes by for a chat, and he said: Oh that is so nice your Corrado; every time I pass by, it becomes nicer and nicer, when mine get more and more scrappy. ;) ;) ;) Cheers, Redfox.

Hmm, just felt I would add in on this old thread, so show that I did what I was wishing for: a Corrado Recaro seat with the MK II Edition side bolsters and fresh leather. They are in fact very very supportive, and no more jumping around in quick corners or s-bends. One of the reasons for that is that the side bolsters on the backrest are not only bigger, but also fatter, so less space for moving about = more speed = more fun. Real easy to do and with a good result. I may add, that I also built in those inflatable lumbar supports, for extra support and comfort. Good for people with back problems. Now if I could only get my hands of the lower side supports that I showed a picture from earlier... All right, time to sort out that sunroof! Here's the problem: the slider onthe left side had broken it's tip off, exacty where the push/pull cable is connected, therefore only the tip moves, not the sliding mechanism, and the sunroof goes down in only one side, and cannot close, slide or open.. Another problem is that the little rubber ring on the hook in each side at the rear, is deformed. A third problem is bad greasing and lubrication.. Use only vw sunroof grease: [ATTACH=CONFIG]73996[/ATTACH] First I take it apart. Push back the inner sunroof: [ATTACH=CONFIG]73997[/ATTACH] Then loosen the 4 small torx screws and lift out the outer sunroof: [ATTACH=CONFIG]73998[/ATTACH] Then I took off the interior light and sunroof switch panel, and wires: [ATTACH=CONFIG]73999[/ATTACH] Then I took off the two sun shields and wires for the passenger side: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74000[/ATTACH] Then I took off the sunroof cut out trim gently, taking care not to bend it: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74001[/ATTACH] Gently lift off the two covers on the passenger grab handle, and unscrew the handle: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74002[/ATTACH] Then I took off the two coat hangers. Be careful not to loose the small bushings that it seats into!: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74003[/ATTACH] Carefully I took off the rear door upper trim, as it may also be seated with a dot of sticky black adhedsive, followed by the front one, which is held by some v-shaped clips: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74004[/ATTACH] Then i turned the inner sunroof part 90 degrees and lifted it out through the open roof. Now, I took off the screws that hold the a,b and c-pillars, removed the a-pillars, but I let the ba nd c in place, but loosened, and with the help of a friend, I very carefully lifted out the inner roof out through the rear dood.. Just hold the b and c-pillars out a bit, and slide the inner roof slowly, taking care of the foam pieces on top of it. They were shot, so I renewed them later on. Then take off the 4 drain tubes, by twisting them a bit, then they slide off easily, as they are now exposed after lifting the inner roof out: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74005[/ATTACH] Then I detatched the motordrive for the sunroof: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74006[/ATTACH] With a blanket as serurity on the front seats headrests, I took out all the sunroof frame bolts and lifted out the whole black sunroof frameout the right side door: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74007[/ATTACH] I took the whole frame indoor, put a blanket in the living room, and here's the 6 repairset: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74008[/ATTACH] Working one side at a time, it's easy enough to just slide off the end cap and the whole one side sets of mechs: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74009[/ATTACH] and: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74010[/ATTACH] Undo the very small lock clips and jsut replace the sets, then slide it all back in and place the rear hook in it's cut out in the big black sunroof frame. When sliding it all back in, the mech should be reset to the position at the picture: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74011[/ATTACH] And the front parts (one in each side, should be most forward. The rear part in each side should be slided so that the hook faals into the cut out in the black frame, and the motor should be winded fully forward (tilted position), and two rotations backwards, to correspond to the slide position. Remember to use only the vw sunroof grease, at least I did. Also I changed all 6 repair sets, as I thought that another would break soon, ans I would like to avoid a repair again any time soon ;) Here's the new mech ready for one side: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74012[/ATTACH] After I installed the sunroof mech in the car, adjusted it in height both front and rear and tested it, after having greased it liberally, and testing it to work perfect again, I replaced most of the inner roof foam pieces as they were bust and came out as dust, probably because of heat over the years. This cheap door seal from a home depot works a treat: [ATTACH=CONFIG]74013[/ATTACH] This job is not at all difficult, I just had to make it carefully and slowly and take my time. I now enjoy my new working sunroof that does not scratch itself and actually work as intended ;) Cheers, Sunfox ;)

Hi Henny, I would like to ask about the Brembo brake kit. I would like to know if they need some spacers to offset the wheels because of the calipers? Or do they fit straight on? I have BBS RX323 7,5" * 17", no spacers and I think et32. Could you post here or just to me a picture of the calipers? Thanks, Redfox. -
