Advice on lumpy, erratic 2.0 16v - being a bit crap again..
Phil K replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Bugger - sorry to hear about all the on going problems... mine isn't great on cold start at the moment either and behaves in the same way - will let you know how I get on in a week or so as am losing the 9A metering unit and going for a KR set up - Tim thinks it should get me sorted - fingers crossed :) -
I've just put another 6 months tax on mine - but did consider taking it off the road... I decided that as I only ever really drive it in the dry and once a week at most I may as well have it sat there for those occasional stunning winter days! Best of luck getting through it Eric - it will all be worth it when most UK cars of similar age are rotting and yours are still going strong 8)

Photography/camera shops will stock silica gell pouches...

Looks very nice - are they Enzo Cups?
-
I'd love to meet the previous owners of my car - specifically the one that swapped the 2.0 block for a 1.8 which cost me a small fortune to put right

Nice one fella! Look forward to reading it 8)

Sounds like you'll need the tracking re-done... get a pic of the pot hole quick - before it's filled in and get a claim in to the council! i don't know if they pay out every time but it's got to be worth a shot! Might also be worth getting the wheel that hit the pot hole off the car and checking the inside for any flat spots and to make sure it isn't buckled... Good luck with it

Need some quick advice on a Golf MK2 for my sister!!

Looks good - nasty dent in the front off side arch but otherwise clean... I'd prob hold out for a driver thought tbh -
try Brentacre.. See this thread for more info on various options... Good luck 8)
-
well thats some good news - happy hunting :D

AFAIK the only way to do it is get one off another set of clocks - if you have white needles then you'll be able to get one from a passat as well as a C but if they're the orange/late type then I think you'll have more of a mission to get one with out having to buy another set of clocks... good luck :)

there's plenty more fish in the sea matey ;)

Looks good - would lose the vinyl sticker on the screen if it was mine though ;)

There isn't a car on the road that I hate as much as those - soooooo fugly :?
-
I have a feeling that you will get rubbing on hard bumps with that width tbh... you might get away with it considering your drop but I don't think I'd chance it :?
-
What a cool day out! Would love to drive just one of those cars 8)

Best bet is to get it on VAG-COM when the llight is on... that will tell you where the fault is! could just be a lose connection somewhere on a sensor or something...
-
I'm guessing £5-6K with the right buyer... is your spoiler still speed activated with the new engine?
-
pmsl  there's a valuable lesson there ;)

Boot seal? Rear Window rubber?

Fairly certain you can pick one up in Maplins for not a lot of money... to be honest the buzzers/bingers do my head in - I know if my lights are on becuse the dash is lit up ;)
-
Looks great mate - welcome to the forum 8)

Seats and door cards are easy enough with no special tools needed... dash convesions will never be straight forward and neither will be getting clocks from another car to work... I had all the cloth out of my car and leather fitted in about 45 minutes. HTH
