Great clean up job! Would like one of these myself 8) Am looking forward to seeing it's progress... EDIT: What did you use tp get the bay so clean?
-
Afraid that up that dirt track is the only way chap :? Slow is the key to keeping your splitter... not ideal but their expertise more than makes up for the dirt track 8) Yours isn't a black G60 - H*** YYW is it?
-
Is that what you call it oop north - I don't want to know
-
No I'll have it with me  This is how it normally looks:

Looks good matey - but it does raise the question of why did Audioscape design the sub enclosure for the left of the boot when there is surely the same space on the right? :? It's oversights like this that would make me want to build my own rather than lose the OEM light...
-
Nice one fella.. tbh it does look black and like new but the light in that pic has made it look more like grey and it isn't helped by the fact it's wet :? Planning to have a good play tomorrow so may have a go at spraying it if I'm wrong 8)

Put my new silver 16V badge on this afternoon and cleaned the leaves off from where it's being stored... will be off the The Phirm in the next week or so for a couple of engine mods too and then I'm bringing it back home as have been really missing not seeing it and not just being able to jump in and go for a spin when I feel like it 8)
-
I love the styling... both inside and out 8)
-
Saw you on the A3 again this morning matey - nice to see it's still running :D
-
Stoopid question alert  Whats the benefit of fitting a cat bypass when you could lose it and fit a straight though piece of pipe?
-
Good news fella 8) Sorry I didn't get back to your text last Sunday - it was my 29th on Saturday and I was still pissed until mid afternoon on the Sunday when I thought to check my phone... we will get it sorted eventualy ;)
-
They're standard dials but with DDI bezel rings Best mod I've done - IMO brings it bang upto date and you see them everytime you get in and drive 8)

I'm amazed that he went for the option of taking you to GSF and then going back to fit the part and get you mobile... I had to call recovery a while back and all they said was yeah your fueling is out - where do you want it towed to  Admitedly they couldn't have done anything for a quick fix but they could have tried just to humor me  Also - never get fooled into thinking your car loves you as it will only prove you wrong :?
-
No worries - they hardly ever come up second hand and in good nic - I got a bargain from Dave but in all the time I've been on here I haven't seen many - if any - come up :?
-
Cheers fella :D For the splitter try GPC mate - they do them new and IIRC they're about £105ish (inc VAT)

I'd agree that a standerd C dash is somewhat unexciting from the passneger seat but I love the cockpit like feel you get in the drivers side! Here's what I have done to mine to bring it a bit more up to date plus leather and new mats which came slightly later 8)

Maintenance evening courses in Surrey/Hampshire area?
Phil K replied to martyjmcfly's topic in General Car Chat
I'd be well up for something like this too - maybe would could organise a group buy on the tutoring fees  Keep me posted if you find anything... -
I replied to a PM asking me how I did this and thought it may be useful information to others also thinking about making the change - so, here's my reply: Hello! Been a little while since I did it but I think I remember... It's very easy really and was done in about 30 minutes! Firstly (after removing your existing set up) you will need to change the bulb holder for the fog lights as they differ between models - just simply trace the loom back and you'll find that it just plugs in to the loom up behind the bumper somewhere. Next you need to remove a white clip which is located in the bumper iron on the inner side of the recess - the reason being is that the mounting lug for the late fog is larger than the early one. Once you have done this trial fit the fog and surround in the recess. This is the point where you will find that a certain amount of the rubber backing behind the recess needs to be cut slightly to allow for the extra mounting depth of both the late fog and indicator. I butchered mine with a pair of pliers and ripped most of it out. And now the easy bit... connect both the indicator and fog to the loom and fit the fog and surround - you will find the screw holes are already there for securing the black surround. Lastly fit the indicator by pushing in the outer end in first and then clipping the middle in next to the fog - job complete :D Just realised that this is all explained in the Knowledge Base but there's no harm having more info here too

New stickers are on the way - should be in the next month or so... keep an eye on this thread as I will update it as soon as they are available Thanks

bigtunes, I wasn't implying that you did ask how it was done, but I think you'll find that prevention solutions would still give clues to the fault and thus there won't be much/any info on the net... I have a feeling that Seat re-called a lot of the Leons to put this right so would think that VW will have a solution too.
-
Nice! I want grey recaros 8)
-
I don't know what it is but have heard of it before... was it a mk4 Golf? Have a look on the Seat Cupra forum as the Leon also suffered from this - I don't think it's talked about too much on the net as it's an obvious security problem that doesn't want more publicity than necessary...
-
Have a go at T cut first matey... my mk1 golf got keyed 2 days after getting it back from being restored! I gave it a good cut and damn good polish and you could hardly see the damage - only noticeable if you were really looking! not ideal but the cheapest solution if you can live with it...

I've nearly hit my C while parking my other car - that would be an interesting insurance claim.... Erm.. yeah my car has been hit by another car and the driver was me so I need to claim against myself

I do about 54 miles round trip when I'm in the office but mileage can average about 110-150 when I have meetings
